What would you like to see on screen lock? - Android Themes

So... What would you like to see on screen lock?
I am researching how to make a lock screen, its current status is the image:
What to add?
Style?
I'm looking for designers to help me, if someone offers: MP

Nice start
What would be nice, music controls like play pause and next track ;-) thats for now

Hi,
that's a agood idea.
For me, the lock screen should contain my important information such as:
My next meetings
icons showing unread messages, mails, reminders
Control the media player
...
by the way, look at the S2U2 for WM (http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/)

3 words: LockInfo for iPhone
Great lockscreen mod. Wish I could have it on my Evo. Lots of screen room for all that info

Any new texts (tidbits)/emails/last 2-3 missed calls (name + number or just name)

Okay, new versión:
Do you like?

i quite like that
My ideal lock screen would be like my old meizu m8 had, quick pull up to messages, phone pad, and main page plus music controls
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve_R9YKuyiY

You should add a button titled "Me" at the top that person can click to call your home phone number or an emergency contact. That would be very helpful for people who forgot their phone somewhere and need to find it.

That. Is. Awesome! If you changed the icons to the glass icons of LauncherPro or allowed custom icons.. :O~
By the way, is the unlock bar final?

Nice start, unlock bar is kinda too long though. Also change "Lock Screen" to "Slide to Unlock". Change the notification bubbles to green like Android, make them optional colors in settings.

Can you give framework-res or other sources of this screen lock?

Maybe a weather-widget would be a nice addition. Furthermore music-controls would be useful (only when playing music).

Wow, that's looking very nice now. I think the notification icons at the bottom should be a single colour though, rather than the full colour icon, otherwise it looks like an app icon you can just tap.

You can add big clock on the top...

If I may add my $.02 to the mix..
First of all, this looks awesome!
Here's what I would like to see in a lock screen:
Time, Battery Percentage, Date, Media Controls
You don't need the missed call icons or anything, because you can see that on your notification bar...It's wasted space.
I DO like the idea of the "call me" idea with a pre-programmed number attached to it. I think this would even be a great app, linked with GPS and SMS.
**Someone puts in the incorrect unlock code more than 3 times, and it sends a SMS to a predetermined number with your phones coordinates attached.

Update: (Will soon be available in the market, its name: Simply Lockscreen)
The icons in the statusbar and below are not definitive

Also please have a unlock tone, nothing harsh or too low, but similar to the iPhone. Also put your location under or somewhere near the time. Here is probably one of the best lockscreens I ever used on my iPhone, would love to seen somebody implement something similar for Android.
Ive always felt like info on the lockscreen should be of more importance than the actual lock or look of lock. Sorry if I'm going iPhone crazy, but it's not about the actual phone but about the info being displayed. Also give people options to show what they want, IE: Weather, Calender, Emails, Missed Calls, Text Messages since a lot of people like/want different things on there lock screen.

Mysterious "next appointment" date/time balloon, s

I was just fiddling about with my xda, I was inputting a name into the contacts, I had shift enabled on the onscreen keyboard and I was typing letters in with my thumb... I must've mashed something odd, because all of a sudden a weird balloon popped up, never seen it before on my XDA, showing "next appointment date/time" and what looked like a small battery icon with a line that resembled lightning going through the middle on the left hand side of the balloon... It didn't have the Luna theme (with the blue top title bar), it was pretty monochromatic, and it had a clock in it on the right hand side. It appeared on the top right of the screen.
... Stupidly, I tapped out of it, without taking a screenshot, and I've been unable to replicate the situation (I can't get it back, and it's really winding me up because I'd like to know how I did it in the first place!)
Any comments / suggestions / solutions appreciated =D
Isn't it just the bubble that usually shows when you tap the clock?
When I tap the clock it just shows the Clock & Alarms settings page (the one with the Time and Alarms tabs)...
... This was a small balloon bubble with a black border, white bg and black text, very confused still as to where the hell it came from! :/

The bubble you're talking about is the one I get on my JAM when I tap the clock on the navigation bar. Have you tried tapping that? Or did you tap the date bar on the today screen?
I don't have a clock on my nav bar...

I've never had a clock on the top bar, I've seen it in screenshots of devices running PPC2002 but mine never came with one. Very curious... Did I manage to hit a hidden pixel somewhere or something?

That sounds very wierd :? The clock should be there when you buy the device.
You can add clock, disable clock or add clock & date via registry hacks.
I can't explain how you activated the bubble though.
Well I got it through O2, so it already had some of their own custom 'enhancements' ¬¬ ... The clock and the date showing up together up top are a Today plugin called "clockinfo" which was supplied with it, if memory serves (as is the battery monitor, o2BatteryPlugin, that comes with the O2 Active UI). I managed to stop the O2 Active UI (o2aui in the Today settings) from autoloading at boot, but I still can't find a way to remove the O2 icon from the start bar without starting over with my device config and using a hacked custom cab to get rid of it (it comes as one of the programs that's preinstalled from the SIM or the ROM, whichever it is, before you can even use the phone when you first start it up or after the battery runs totally flat).
The signal strength and signal indicator bars are there forcibly, I've not found any way to move them. If I press/tap and hold down on the O2 icon on the start bar, I can get a dialog which I used to move it to the left some more (by default it's slap bang right in the middle of the start bar, which is totally unhelpful), The icon next to the O2 icon is the Switch app, which I use to kill Internet Explorer before it crashes my XDA if I have more than one window open (nice to know that PIE is as bug-free as IE6   ). The rest is just default, I've not added or removed any other icons from the start bar.
Very confused, but thanks for clarifying where it came from somewhat... Could you possibly take a screenshot of what it looks like on your JAM (with Pocket Screen Capture or whatever you use, if you don't already have a screencap app) and stick it on here just so I can make sure that we definitely are talking about the same thing? I want to make sure I'm not going crazy again (don't ask. Haha)
Cheers already for the responses, much appreciated.
Christopher
UPDATE - it WAS O2's customisations that removed the registry keys for the standard WM2003SE clock. I reset my device, did a Corporate install, and it came up first time. I also managed to enable it via a registry hack on the first installation (before I reset the device), so both ways work.
to remove the o2 logo from the top left of the screen, go settings> system >windows>fonts > delete the font

Seemingly one flaw
In portrait view on my at&t 8525 (qvga display), the SMS button stays enlarged whereas the remaining buttons are shrunken. Additionally, the SMS Icon frequestly disappears and I have to press it a couple of times to make it show properly, but it is still larger than the other bottom row icons. In landscape view, all of the bottom row icons show properly, however, there is an empty black space as though another button should go there. Lastly, in threaded text view, a portion of the shadowing on the text balloons is showing outside of the text balloon to the right.
Not certain if these are just display issues on the particular phone that I have, and I'm really not trying to complain. I like the program very much honestly, and can overlook these oversights. thanks for creating such a wonderful program.

I am not sure I get what you are saying entirely..
by "the sms icon stays enlarged".. are you referring to the pressed animation?
also, it should not be disappearing ever.. that is very odd.
I have noticed that shadow, but have not had time to fix it, it would be easy to fix even in paint or something if you wanted to try it out.
the switch to landscape error where there is a black box between the icons is a known bug.. I sent the problem to the developer of the program but he has not gotten back to me with a fix yet.. I suspect it is the program itself
feedback is always welcome!
hope that (sort of) helped

[PRJ-REQ] Tatanium theme: Winmo 7

Hi all,
I saw the winmo 7 video other day in youtube. It looks great but it was like a dejavu for me. I have sony erricsson Xperia X1, in that we have a panel called Media experience, it is more or less the same as new winmo interface. (for those who haven't seen it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEQt8tGUuYg )
The only differences are that instead of txt showing you where you are (each time you get in a folder the name of the txt goes on top, that way you know where you are) in Media experience it shows you an icon

}
notice the icon on the right ( music icon) indicates that you are in music player. Oh yeah and unlike winmo7 it is in the left side. The thing that this is missing is the clock on the background (i photoshoped it) and the weather widget.
HTC UI is great but it also slows down the phone, that's why I prefer titanium. I was wondering if somebody could figure out a way to put a clock and weather widget with it. Some other pics,
That theme concept looks gorgeous. It's a brilliantly huge improvement over the default Titanium. However, it reminds me of the SE media manager. But nevermind that.
The clock on the top right corner looks ugly - it's doesn't blend well within the theme. I suggest that a plain text clock in the background should be implemented to give the theme a minimalistic and elegant look. I've worked up on the image to show you what I mean.
The menus should also have some transparency so the background and the clock are visible.
i think it's better the clock on the background but the icon only the bigger at the center end take away the little one at the left!
d3thstalker your picture looks exactly what I was thinking. I did a quick paintbrush work so it looks awefool. But yeah this is what I was talking about, how though
It would be really awesome if someone could develop this for us. I have no background in developing anything or whatsoever. However, I'd like to extend my help to wherever I can.
EDIT: Perhaps if someone could post links to guides or tutorials on editing the Titanium menu, I can try something.

It doesn't look that difficult, it's worth a try. But you are reminded again that I have no background in these things or whatsoever, so don't get your hopes too high, I might simply dump the project if I can't do it.
I'm handling some workload from my office atm, I'll begin immediately after that. I'll flash my phone to WM6.5.3 today, however, to take a look at how this whole thing works. On second thought, it would be better if someone could pass me the following files from the WINDOWS directory on their phone - bronzeres.dll, CHome_listback.png (hidden file) and Titanium_240x320.cpr

Maybe My email, [email protected]
Ok I just sent it to you. I looked at the tutorial too, when I opened the bronzess.dll in PE explorer I see lots of icons, starting with the number of 2000 to 4000. I can guess how to change the icons, but I dont understand how can I change the system of how icons are being shown. I mean in "Media Experience Panel" when you tap on something it goes to the left side. How do make that happen? Anyway I dont know anything about programming.
Hope somebody comes up with a solution.
I understand the link between the registery, the bronzeres.dll and the way the icon are displayed. However, I still don't understand how to shift the icons to the left side. I think that has something to do with Titanium_240x320.cpr.
I don't think that it's possible to make the icons shift to the left upon clicking them because I have never seen that in a theme. I think that would require the Titanium code to be re-written or something, which is beyond me.
EDIT: This modding of titanium is too hard for me, I don't understand several aspects of it. I am letting go of it here.
Ok I think I figured it out. Its not Titanium that can do this stuff. It is actually this
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/cws/devworld/technology/windows-mobile/xperia-x1?cc=gb&lc=en
which probably can do this. Hmmmm............ I guess I have to do this all by myself

+1 i'd like to see this. even a beta is alright.

Looking for 2 apps.

Hey guys.
I've searched for a couple of hours for 2 apps and can't find them. I ran a search on xda and nothing.
First app:
A battery indicator that i can see in the notification area but does not have a icon on the notification bar. I want to be able to drop down the notification bar and see the status of my battery in percentages. I prefer my notification bar as clean as possible.
Second app:
Power controls in the notification area. I found Quick Settings, but that opens another app to change the settings. I'm looking for a way to activate wifi, bluetooth and so on just by taping something in the notification area.
Thanks.
So, the conclusion is that there are no such apps?
It s only too much.
Quick settings is very impressive. It starts the app from the notification bar, thats right.
But, what would you all switch from the notification bar:
Wifi
APN
Brighness
GPS
Auto Sync
Bluetooth
Airplane Mode
etc...
There are too much options for one notification bar.
I'm thinking that an app like this would let me choose 3-4 toggles. I realize it's impossible to have them all.
Oh, and a toggle does not take a row, instead all the toggles should be on the same row but with separators between them.
OK, I' have to say, that I never found such a programm. Sorry.

So the default power bar widget won't work for you? It's pretty much exactly what you pictured, however a widget.
If you want to choose and have your own order, use beautiful widgets.
Why try and cram this into the notification area? You have 5 desktop screens (more with add-ons and custom ROM's) to put this stuff. Navigation from screen to screen is fast and easy (even if you hate the swipe thing).
Or this even? http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.extendedcontrols/
Dunno, just lost as to why I guess.
Yes, you are right, it looks like the power settings widget, but i want it in the notification area to be able to change settings without leaving the current app and stop using the widget. I need the space for other stuff
moved to the Q&A section
What about quickdesk? Kmobs hads mentioned it on twitter couple of times. you can put anything you want even the settings widget and can change it without leaving the app.

Default Dialer: How to bring Last Call to the top of Favorites tab?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to add Last Call at the top of Favorites tab of the default Dialer often seen on other phones:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
...to the default Marshmallow Dialer on Nexus 6 without changing the dialer app or the launcher?
Thanks in advance!
yea, call that number the most and itll appear there.
You should be able to drag and drop the recent calls to whatever location you want them to be in on the stock dialer.
Whatever i do, the last call dialed never appears at the top of the favorites tab, and i cannot drag and drop anything from call history.
I have to swipe to the Call History tab to call someone if it's not in the favorites, even a missed call. This is extremely annoying, especially coming from a device where the favorites tab looks like in the first picture, not the second. I just don't believe that default Android Dialer is so much worse than on e.g. any Moto X, that's why i'm asking
Maybe there is an option to turn it on somehow? I mean that last call thing in the favorites on the first picture.
I only want people I choose or call often in my favorites list. Just because someone like a telemarketer calls me once, I certainly don't want them added to my favorites list. All you have to do is make one swipe over to the recent call list, so why would you want that behavior?

usually people that call you dont get placed in the favorites list, only people that you call go there.
Guys, I don't mean placing someone to favorites. I meant favorites TAB. Last call section in the top of the favorites tab, just like in the top picture. The bottom one does not have the last call displayed, just like on the Nexus, which I want to fix.
I guess you are aware you can get to recents with one tap anyway. So to my personal taste, it doesn't seem worthwhile or logical to mix recent calls into favorites.
But to answer your question, no, I don't know how to do what you request.
Just compare the two images on the initial post and see what's lacking in the bottom one
Hard to see with the xda app, obviously, though.
It's the call displayed at the top.
Well, i guess i'll either look for a different dialer, which i hate to do, or just sell the Nexus and buy the overall more convenient Moto X when it's on sale
Never thought Google would manage to make a dialer less convenient than it is on an old Lumia, and how much better Motorola knew how to create software for actual phones -_-

Again, all it takes is one tap to get from that favorites screen to your recent call log screen where you can see all your recent calls in reverse chronological order.
On the other hand, having your single recent call at the top of favorites as you request:
doesn' t help if you want to dial the next to last call
takes up space on the favorites screen, which reduces the number of favorites visible on the screen without scrolling
complicates the structure (mixing favorites and recents)...why have two tabs if you're going to mix them
I don't begrudge you the right to have your own preference, just wanted to point out the other side.
