so far the app works on the Milestone, but it doesnt fit on the native resolution, being that it was made for the G1. Wondering if anyone can port?
probably better to use apktool on a hdpi version of htcmusic from the sense build.
I'd suggest either giving it a shot yourself, or pm the op of the linked thread and ask him if he'll do it for you.

First off, my apologies if this belongs in the Q n A, I just figured it'd serve more purpose here. So if this belongs there, I'll have a mod move it asap.
So with that out of the way, I was curious if it was possible to port the Nexus' "3D" launcher, or launcher2, whatever you'd like to refer to it as. I have the ported version to 2.0.1 on my droid, and just wanted to know if it could be brought down to donut?
They changed alot from the 1.6 and eclair's framework.
Maybe it can be done if the time is devoted to making it work.but most likely wont be done though.
So can you upload the ported version for 2.0.1? Would it work on our 2.0.1/2.1 ports by chance?

i agree... upload for us...
I thought the hardware limitations of g1 prevented it from having some of Eclair's 3D features such as 3d Gallery/and 3d Launcher.
I wouldn't even want to have this launcher I can only imagine how slow it would run.
I came across some pretty sweet themes but they dont seem to work with 6.1 Cyanogen. Anyone think they cant port/set them up for the Slide? I think it would be pretty rocking...

Seems this is a more updated version of the above theme?

Good luck and anyone that pulls it off is the best!
As far as I could tell from at least the first link, they're HD themes. Gotta resize everything in the framework.apk as well as every individual res folder for each skinned app.
But the LauncherPro theme you could use. Be wary that it's an older version of launcherpro.
I thought these were gonna be the smoked glass themes someone posted from the nexus one forums. ;p
Gotta say these do look nice
I am looking into using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
Theme importer script.
Seems very promising. But if they need to be resized i dont think this script can handle that... as for the Nexus ones.. how do they compare? and i think the nexus has the same resolution? probably wrong about that lol Just recently got into the whole android moding scene so learning alot
Nexus One is like 800 x 480, we're 320x480 ;p But I heard the N1 is more of a quasi-WVGA. I wouldn't know. I just know it's got a higher resolution.
No fun! Oh well was hoping What other phones themes are compatible size wise with the slide? Maybe i can find a theme for them and convert it...didnt notice anything about screen resolution on the tread so i didnt think it mattered. Also seen something about a pixel densety changer and wonder if that will do any good?
Well looking on wikipedia. i checked out the resolutions and the regular droid seems to be of the same resolution and those themes seem to be for the droid?
also does HDPI and MDPI refer to the resolutions or just the icons? Like should any MDPI theme work on any MDPI phone?
I physically opened the themes on the page and checked the framework.apk's. They have to be resized for our phones.
hm i see. well i hope someone can get these up and running!
The theme porter script has an image resizer that MIGHT work, never actually used it. But it could just make everything look vertically stretched, circles look like ovals, etc, because HDPI is a different aspect ratio than MDPI. Worth a shot though.
That HTC Sense Live Wallpaper is amazing, any ports of it to Galaxy S? It won't run when I try.
Thanks!
I don't think there is. if I'm wrong someone should def hook it up with a link. lol
I know they are actively trying to port Sense (as in the whole thing) to the Captivate but have hit some roadblocks.
If it's just a live wallpaper.. maybe someone in the HTC forums will be kind enough to give you the .apk for it?
But... like everything Sense related it is probably not a standard application and completely proprietary.
Yeah, it needs the framework. But I tried porting that, still doesn't run. Somehow they managed to port it to the Nexus One CyanogenMod ROM, but that APK doesn't work for the Galaxy S.
Hi guys..today I saw very exciting video looks like below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jr1A8h7OVA
Some people say that it is ios, but others think it is a another theme.
They say it is miui rom (refer http://www.miui.com)
miui rom is chinease rom until now(they don't have any plan to other language),
so I don't understand it.
However, when I see the video, it is very fast and has good function like ios
whether it is ios or not.
So, I want to know is it possible to install ios to htc vogue?
If it is possible, I really hope to see it. But, although it is not possible, is it
possible to execute same function ( moving and deleting icon like ios : shaking ^^)?
If someone know this, please let me know it.
Thanks and sorry for my poor english.
Nope!
Android can only be ported to the vogue, because it is opensource and Ios is a lot of things but NOT opensource. We would have seen a port of WebOS even sooner, because it is also linux based than Ios, but WebOS also isn't opensource so....
Maybe??
Okay I doubt any of us Dev's would even think about porting Ios to the Vogue and no one that I know of has every gotten IOs to run on any device but an apple device. It is definetly MIUI.
I will take a look at possibly porting MIUI or a simplified version of it to the Vogue/Kaiser/Polaris.
you wont see a miui rom for vogue either, since its all compiled for arm v7 processors which isnt what we have (hero is in the same boat)
I am creating an MIUI theme from modded launchers and a miui icon pack and a bunch of resized apks from the hero forum
Thank you so much and I am look forward to see it

Wow!! That' s great.. I hope to see it. Cheers!!
It is a chinese version android system based on original Android 2.2
It seems that it doesn't support Vogue now.
The MIUI .apks decompile nicely with apkmanager, then they need to be edited for the vogue/kaiser/polaris screen and recompiled for arm v4 (is it v4 or v5?)

Hi,
I've always loved the look of the Espresso bottom dock so was wondering if anyone would be able to port this theme to Android Revolution HD for DHD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755026
If not the whole theme then maybe just the dock as an update.zip
I'd be willing to donate to the cause
Cheers,
Lee
Isn't the Link in the third line of the post what you are looking for?
Not sure though.
Sorry, which link?
I was under the impression the theme was for Desire ROMs only, and Desire HD based ROMs but still for the Desire. Could be wrong but looking at it I can't see mention of it working on the actual Desire HD.
Ah, I see it now!
Must have missed it the 1st time (I view the web in a tiny window so I can browse discreetly at work!).
I'll go check it out now and see if it works
EDIT: None of them really have the same high quality look as the original theme I posted. Would still love a port of that if possible
