Umm .. EVO ??
What's that got to do with the X's ROM image issues?

I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw mrozzeh talking about this release last week and he mentioned that it will only be for HTC devices.
Edit.
Found the Post

In the link OP posted, its says HTC. Not sure why it should excite us.

This is only for the Incredible and Evo:
Pulled directly from the public:forever site.
Supported Devices - At this time, the following devices are supported.
HTC Droid Incredible, running radio baseband versions:
1.00.03.04.06
2.05.00.06.11
2.07.00.07.16
2.15.00.07.28
HTC EVO 4G, running radio baseband versions:
1.39.00.04.26
2.05.00.06.10
2.15.00.07.28

I'm well aware it's only for htc devices, but I'm hopingthat this can somehow be applied towards motorola products as well one day.

It says "We believe the mechanism behind unrevoked forever may work for other radios and devices, and will add support as radio images are made available to us."

Yeah. They are referring to other HTC devices. I believe it's based an an HBOOT exploit, which is HTC specific. So yes, it is completely useless for the X unfortunately
(unfortunately for you guys anyway.... I have an Incredible do it's great news for me) =P

Did you see that Alldroid and Birdman have achieved the ability to load a CR at such a low level they think they're going to be able to load alternate kernels?

Leaked Froyo for the Droid X (looks like ROM coming soon)

I was over at mydroidworld and they have a screenshot of Droid X running froyo (Android 2.2) it also had a upgraded baseband. Looked promising lets hope its not a hoax that is all.
This is all they have posted so far
http://yfrog.com/0xym4gj
Them claimining it isnt a hoax and
What I know:
** Yes it still has blur
** No it does not have the new froyo homescreen
** It behaves and looks just like current system.
Update:
Looks like some testers are starting to sell the Droid X with Froyo on Ebay. Several pics including a benchmark that was less than impressive. Also the units have flash.

[Q] Does Nexus one have a rank(position) on smartphones

wondered whether the n1 have a place in smartphones

its #1 obviously

yeah. #1...truly...but only if you're rooted.
Of course it's #1 even on a Nexus forum
I have yet to see a new phone so far that surpasses the nexus one in all the major boxes. Things like build quality, rootability, community support, hardware etc. There have been many since that have beaten in in some areas. But it is still a very solid contender.
Nexus one is by far the gold standard of smartphones right now. Yes technology will surpass it at some point, thats inevitable. But in the here and now its topdog. Lots of friends i have use iphones and various android models and ive yet to see them be able to keep up with the speed and reliability of my N1. Im rooted using cm6 rc1 (wanting cm gingerbread) and im very happy that back in march i took the blind leap and bought a N1. Yes the business model behind the selling of the N1 was flawed but the actual phone was well worth it.
I love my N1! I think that some devices beat it in some areas but as an overall phone, especially for 'nerds', it has yet to be completely beaten.
The NexusOne's position is obviously doggy-style.

So wait, HOW exactly do we use this? I don't think we can boot it into an emulator...I've tried loading ROM packages into the Android emulator (for personal use only), and haven't gotten anything other than the "stock" emulator image to appear...and yes I've read through the interwebs, but I haven't figured out how to do it. Trying to do it by summer, though.

The thunderbolt is shipping with 2.2.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I know, I just read that afterwards. Sadly...it'll prob get 2.3 though (after 6 months like every other HTC phone gets updated lol).
So couple of things. This download is hugh lol and has anyone tryed the radio in it yet just woundering if maybe we might see a chance of being able to access the lte network (wishfull thinking) if no one has do it by time i get home witch i will about 9pm i will do it well see what happens lol. other than that is it really gingerbread with sense.
No Gingerbread, it ships with 2.2 (I asked that question too lol).
And I think that the 4G radio is a hardware thing, not software . Good wishful thinking though XD
yea no joke but hey new radio no telling what good it could it do though.
True that. The Mecha doesn't only run on 4G, but 3G also, so it might up our data speeds. Theoretically. I mean, it kind of makes sense for that to be the case.

The radio.img controls much more than just 3G/4G. It controls other hardware in the device, and flasing a bad radio is the only (afaik) definitive way to turn your incredible (or any other device) into a shiny paperweight.
To use the 4G network, the phone would need LTE bands in addition to the CDMA bands, which the Incredible probably doesn't have.
I remember a few months ago, however, when someone found some 4G stuff in the Incredible system files. Something about it was supposed to go to Sprint but ended up going to Verizon at the last minute. So there could be a chance the Incredible has the capability to run on LTE, I guess.
I could be completely wrong, and it's mostly just speculation, but, yeah.

So even if our device had the capability somehow it doesn't at the same time

HTC One Roms on carrier HTC Ones

Hey guys - quick question, and sorry if this has been answered before. I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer under FAQ or recent threads. I apologize in advance for any duplicativeness. Here it goes:
I ended up getting my One directly through T-Mobile, so it's not the HTC developer edition or unlocked model. Once I unlock/root my "TMo" HTC One, will the ROMs under the "HTC One" dev forums work, or do I have to stick to the ones posted on the "T-Mobile HTC One" dev threads? Thanks in advance.
They will work on your T mobile HTC One.

Have you seen those custom desktops, Like Stardock or Fences, that have widgets and functions you can't get in regular windows? This is far from 100% accurate but think of the rom as the skin over windows. Those never really effect your drivers(the radio) since they just tweak your GUI so as long as they can run on your hardware you'll never have to worry about them effecting your printer.
Does that make sense or is my brain fried from my self directed 36 hour crash course on this forum?

Makes enough sense. I've only ever rooted/unlocked/flashed ROMs on Nexus devices, so I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I dive in here. Thanks!

IDK about ARHD, but triuckdroid will ask you AT&T/INTL/T-MO before you flash, so everything works correctly. I believe all HTC Ones in the US(So Far) are the same as the INTL..... there's a thread about it somewhere.... But just make sure you have the right APN settings. P.S New radios are usually a good thing if you have bad signal all the time (WiFi/Cellular).
Has this been confirmed by anyone else?

[Q] Why is Incredible S CPU msm7x30?

Hey there!
I have just received a vivo, and I would like to develop for it. The phone's specs state that vivo is msm8255, but when I look into the device tree of the phone, the ROMs use msm7x30 platform. Can someone please explain this to me?
Also, does anyone know the name of chips in vivo. This is a very hard thing to find. For example, the bluetooth is BCM4329.
If no one has this information then it is alright, but I would like to my first question answered.
Thank You. :good:

You should PM Szeszo on this stuff. He is our main developer and has been pretty much our only developer for almost half a year now. He knows this device inside out
100% same chipset as the 7x30 devices, our 8255 is essentially an overclocked 7x30 like on desire z
That's why desire z has same chipset as us
Bcm 4329 is WiFi too, but bcmdhd is used for AOSP and sense 4 which is ported from One V or latest prima
Wikipedia has some good information

Why is it so important? As poondog said, our CPU just an msm7x30 on higher clock. But we have that CPU's board name, why? Qualcomm knows... Like the MSM8225 and MSM8625Q (dual and quad-core Cortex-A5 CPUs) has msm7x27a board names. Why? Qualcomm knows...

This is off topic, but...
Yes, Adelaide is a boring city. Nothing here to look at (can only look at myself in the mirror)
But what I do like about Adelaide is that it is a planned city; it is very hard to get lost here (even if someone tells you to get lost). When I went to Sydney, I got lost, because the roads aren't straight forward. I've also visited Melbourne, but I didn't like it, because the city there is too tight; the roads are very small, and the trams on the road take up too much space. But Melbourne kind of reminds me of my home country (Pakistan).
By the way, I do know somewhat about kernel development. I have tried to port a 3.4 kernel to a previous device, and I got the kernel to boot, but I coudn't get the ROM to boot. The phone died really quickly and now I cannot fully port the 3.4 kernel to it anymore, however someone else with the same device has already ported it, and I know how he did it. So, I am going to try it with vivo. But, I won't gurantee success.
