reverting g1 (particularly radio baseband) to stock - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

inb4 lrn2google, etc etc
i've found many a guide instructing me how to revert to original spl and firmware, which i've done. i've subsequently received the ota 1.6 update, which is nice. but i haven't been able to find anything detailing a downgrade of the radio baseband, except for other phones and **** (like cdma sprint hero, etc)
i'm giving my phone in for a repair (i smashed the lcd and digitizer) and i want to make sure everything is stock. i know that my baseband is 2.22.19.26I, but I can't remember whether this is the stock one for 1.6 donut - I don't think it is.
but I don't know which radio baseband stock donut uses?
thanks in advance for any help

Just found info on the dev phone here:
http://developer.htc.com/adp.html
It states that 2.22.19.26I ist default for cupcace and donut. I guess it will be the same on G1.

sweet, exactly what i was after
thank you a lot

I believe there's only an RC33/1.1 radio and a 1.5 radio. You should be running the 1.5 one : 2.22.19.26I.
SPL doesn't matter, if you look on the realease thread it says it doesn't require "Danger"/1.33.2005/Haykuro's SPL. Any SPL will work, really doesn't matter.
Ok thanks, I see two haykuro 1.5's. One says a2sd and the other one not. I am in the US.
Good, I'll leave spl alone. I have not upgraded since I rooted.
I may be mistaken, but I believe cyanogen's ROMs are based on cupcake.
Here are my suggestions based on what I know:
Radio: best bet is to find one as stock as possible. Check HTC or code.Google .. for me, I use the one I got from Haykuro's website
SPL: since I believe that cyanogen's ROMs are based on cupcake, the highest/best SPL you'll be fine with is HARD. I will also say that I've run cyanogen's 3.6.8.1 on haykuro's danger SPL with no issues.
As far "what's best"? I hold to a belief/feeling that most things Android are seperate. With the exception of HERO, most partitions of the G1 hardware are interchangeable, so no one combination is "best."
at least ,that's my take on it.

That's a ROM, not a radio..
If your signature is correct, then your radio is out of date. This could mean more dropped calls, lower signal strength ect. So, download the new radio, and place it on your microSD and flash it. If your also on Cyanogen's recovery, then phyically press alt-s and home+back. Do NOT touch the trackball.
Please verify that your sig is up to date before following those instructions.
Thank you very much. Baseband shows 26i now.

Rogers HTC Dream on AT&T

Hey Everyone,
I just got a Rogers HTC Dream from Canada to use on AT&T's network here in the states. So far it seems to be working smoothly, I just had to unlock the phone and setup the APN for AT&T. My phone is the 32B version and I'm wondering which Radio I should be using.
Is there anything I should pay attention to when I decide to change the rom to something 2.x?
Yes! But it depends on which radio you've installed. If you install the 2.22.19.26I radio you can install any standard Dream ROM. However, if you keep the original 3.22.20.17 radio (or the updated 3.22.26.17 one), you will need a kernel special adapted for the 3.x radio.
Look inside any Dream ROM you download and you'll find a file called "boot.img" - this is the kernel. You can find a really good thread dedicated to the differences between the two radios and why they require separate kernels here.
It's a little more difficult to get ROMs to work with the 3.x radio, but in my experience it's worth it. I can subjectively say that my signal has been much better ever since I returned to the original radio. Be careful about switching between them, however, since I hear it's not too difficult to brick your phone that way.
I am having really poor reception so I am willing to try out the 3.x radio. Thanks for the advice.

MD5sum for losemyroot.zip

I am looking for the md5sum for losemyroot.zip. Can anyone point me to the md5sum? I have searched alot, but I cannot find it.
The file I refer to is in the snipit below:
<snip>
So i noticed people were talking about reverting back (not sure why you'd want to )
Regardless, heres the original radio (3.22.20.17) and the original recovery (WARNING: UNROOTED) from rogers dream:

[reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544654]
I want to revert back to the 3.22.20.17 radio since I feel that the reception is not as good with the new 3.22.26.17 radio. I use my rogers dream on Bell, so the radio version is of no concern to Bell.
When I am at my desk at work i typically lose data until a reboot when running the new radio. I didn't have this problem before I upgraded the radio when I was following the instructions on Feb 8th at:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_Rogers_Dream_EBI1_to_CyanogenMod
thanks,
David
EDIT: It's a different ballgame when it comes to Rodgers. My Bad.
Thanks for trying to help.

Restoring stock SPL & stock rom (for guarantee)

Hello guys,
I am having serious issues with my HD, and the best solution is to send it back to be repaird, or trow it away...
F.Y.I. the problem is screen going black, or without backlight, or not starting quick, and continuing black.. or the infamous "MICROP FIRMWARE MISMATCH"
To make it a bit worse, I bought it second hand, and I have to prey that the phone is not 2 years old... (guess to be seing in the sticker info on stock number, or part number...).
So... I had a lot of fun in this forum, installing HSPL, and diferent roms.., and guess.., I have to put everything back to original to try to get it fixed.
First, I will show what the info on the Phone is..
R 1.13.25.24
G 52.62.25.34U
D 1.56.47501
BLACK100 32M
SPL-1.56 OLINEX
My questions (and I guess lots of people's question too) are:
1) How to downgrade my SPL to an "official" one
2) Which one could that be (number)
3) Which official rom to use (number), to make it matching SPL.. MUST BE AN WM 6.1
4) Is my radio version "stock"?
5) can I flash Stock rom, and then AFTER stock SPL? to avoid to have to use USPL to flash stock rom after..
6) Does the Stock rom comes with its own radio?
Requests
1)Dummie capable help
2)Where to find stock SPL'S for this phone.
3)Some link to tutorials HOW TO...flash stock SPL
4)Link to downloads to WM 6.1 stock rom (HTC Support doesn,t have them, only upgrades). Dutch should be the languaje, but if not, WWE should do...
5) Where to get some luck...
I know its a lot what I am asking, but, after hours of looking arround, and lots of tabs on my explorer, I am just confused..., and believe that many people are in the same situation.
I have ony seeing upgrade guides, but not yet an downgrade guide sticking nowhere, and ways of dealing with manufacturer due hardware problems, and I mean, the way to set your phone back to standar, or the proper way to back up everything before we make it "really user friendly", which, acording to manufacturer, is ILEGAL,
Everybody's reply's will be trully apreciated
Well, I found the "STOCK" rom on the HTC site.
It has already the radio included.
RUU_BlackStone_HTC_NLD_1.56.404.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship
For everybody's info, the only way to download it, is by filling the Serial number of the phone (behind the battery) in the HTC Website(support).
It was an unlocked phone, so, I choosed EU version, and after filling the serial number, gave me automatic.. Dutch languaje (good enough to send it to Service).
So, I guess that if you want to change the lenguaje of your phone on an official rom, and is not possible with your phone serial, you will just have to request it.
I just flashed it with SPL 1.56 OLINEX, and he just won't start..., just have to let him rest couple of hours, or try to start it tomorrow (vibrates after 1 minute, and wont start), so, If everything goes ok, .. stock SPL, and "send it back"
This might be helpful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217.
First you have to sure what was your original SPL version, and Radio version.
Good luck.
I flashed thesame rom when I had to send my phone back to claim warranty. I use spl 1.14. My phone was repaired for free so I think I did it right ^^
edit: just follow the guide philrom posted anf you'll be fine . The stock rom you flashed already includes a (stock) radio, so after flashing spl 1.14 our phone is good to go
1.14... and will be ok for warranty.... so, 1.14 will be
Apreciate the info, let's hope that service will do their job, so I can go back to WM 6.5!! , and off course custom roms..
Again, tks. I will let you know how everithing turned out.

[Q] Help updating my stock 1.22.12.29

I recently nearly bricked my US g1 when modding it due to SdCard issue (midway through flashing SD became unreadable). I have also had mny issues with the SD and a few keys which are testy...So I unrooted to send back to manufacturer. Turns out the SD card issues were fixed going back to stock and I can deal with the keys issue. Longer story short I was at stock with:
DREA100 PVT
1.22.12.29 - Radio
0.95.0000 - HBOOT
CPLD - 4
Baseband 62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
Kern 2.6.29-00479-gc37df37
android [email protected] #19
DRC83
I manually updated my G1 because i waited three days for any OTA and needed my phone functional, Currently i'm at 1.6.
I'd like to update my SPL and radio and I have done the research... The only tutorial I could find that was as close to my case was for someone using a korean phone. I realize this is the part that could F my phone so I wanted to be as careful as possible. Another tut I found (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636945) starts off saying flash this 1.33.2005 SPL then someone immediatly says "For god sakes don't flash that SPL" So you can imagine my reasons for caution.
You guys have been great in the past and I appreciate any help. If I missed my exact sit on another post i'm sorry, understand I did search for two days but never found EXACTLY the same situation.
Before you go off updating SPL/radio, you might want to read these guide. Especially if you are going to start loading the custom ROMs.
