[Q] Question about BusyBox, and OTA Update, odin.

First of all, i have Upgraded my sgs i9000 to android 2.2.1 ZSJPJ stock firmware using odin V7. The Root Checker state that " The busybox is installed correctly", But i din't root, why the busybox is there? Will the busybox effect the OTA Update?
Next, How do odin V7 work? Did it perform clean install on sgs? I have ticked the "re-partition", just not sure...
About the OTA Update, How it actually work? Did it work as like the samsung Kies? every time i check for update it state " No Update Available", i admit that the android 2.3.3 is still not available on asia. So it means that the OTA update is still working right?
Any guidelines?
Where did you download stock firmware?Ramad is deodexin firmware and have root did you download from there?OTA update never works.try some software that need root to work and you will be promted to ggrant superuser access.offcourse you need superuser app.then you will know that you root.

OTA never in use yet by Samsung or networks .
Firmware you installed has root in it .

[Q] android update

hi,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S I9000,
I never updated the system.
my Firmware version is 2.2
I was told that when you update the system it erases all the info on the phone, is it true?
I would like to know what is the latest firmware version for SGS and how do I update the phone. I believe there is already a page with instructions but I couldn't find the right one for me.
Thanks
hi
hey there
good to hear you wanna update ! the newest version depends on where ur from bro , the latest official firmware in the east is the value pack 2.3.7 update
if you haven't customized or rooted ans can update via kies software your sd card data will remain intact. any form of android system data like notes and contacts will be erased .
make necessary backups of contacts notes etc . backup available via kies .
plug in the phone and it will prompt you with update available .
flash after taking backups

no update via KIES or OTA

Hi, as you can see on the screenshot, I'm on KL8
But KIES don't want to update my Note, it says my device is not compatible with update via KIES (KIES itself is up to date with new instal )
And on the phone, when i'm searching for update, it says no update available.
I WANT ISC STOCK...
What should I do ? Reflash stock ROM and KERNEL ? Which version ? I'm a bit lost...
Thanks a lot
ICS OTA is currently being rolled out in Germany only...where r u located?
Your device does not support software upgrading via kies:

How to Root Samsung Tab A 8" (SM-T350) Android Marshmallow (6.0)

Hi , i downloaded the latest firmware of this model , and installed it using Odin.
Anyone knows how to root this device with Android Marshmallow?
I already tried to installed the latest beta version of SuperSU installed it using TWRP but its not working
please anyone help me how to root this
Thanks,
Nico
Nico,
I came across your thread multiple times in search for how to root mine. I ended with going to the autroot chainfire site and following the instructions there. The package was listed for the SM-t350 on 5.0.2 but I can confirm it worked on 6.0.1 stock .
Cheers

You have to be extremely careful because there is a Lollipop and Marshmallow version of this device. I cannot give a link to the correct thread, but there is a thread on XDA that has a Marshmallow guide.
Basically you just flash with Odin, I used TWRP version twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-t350_mm_9816
Before you flash make sure you are in dev mode so Knox does not screw with you. have your SuperSU flash Zip on your SD card, I used UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323
Boot into recovery, select install and chose the file I said above. It will flash and Root your device as a system root.
