Pretty sure those are iDEN though. R-UIM wasn't really anywhere but China, and even then it never went mainstream.

AT&T or TMO?

Is there a way to tell which GSM a N1 is w/o putting in the SIM card to find out?
I'm going to look for one on CL and just want to make sure before handing money over.

I guess..... no.
No SIM means no network means no GSM, no service.
But to not take my words as the confirmation you're looking for.

Yeah, I'm hoping for some kind of labeling like under the battery covers or something.
I believe the model numbers are different. I saw a post with the differentiating information. If you dig around a bit you should be able to find on xda.
if your phone is PB99110 (check underneath battery) then it is AT&T model with AT&T 3g bands

Sim card and ESN?

So my buddy just got an HTC One and I saw that it has a Sim card in it. Does that mean that it still has an ESN? Is Sprint doing SIM cards now or what lol?

It supports international GSM bands
The SIM provides LTE access and international roaming capabilities. Other Sprint LTE/International phones have a sim card, some are removable, some are built into the phone.
Oh okay. So that means there is still an ESN correct? Sorry I'm a noob lol

Yes you still have an ESN, which can be viewed in your bootloader by selecting "Show barcode." There was also a sticker on the back of your phone with all of that information when you purchased it.

Yes, there should be a ESN, MEID, ICCID and IMEI for this device.

can I use a Z1S in europe?

If I buy a z1s which is for t-mobile in the usa, can I do something with it to use it in europe?
T-mobile will be working well to receive calls in europe but if you want ta call it will go in roaming and this will cost you. If you want use a different carrier in europe then first you have unlock the SIM. After that it will working well like any Z1.
others uppotsc

No. You don't have to. I said you are fine because it will work with that SIM. From USA or Hungary still always TMO so no problem.
Are you sure it will work with a different regional tmo Sim?

Sprint nexus

I bought my nexus from Sprint without contact but I have service with sprint thinking about changing providers how would I put my nexus on a different provider without buying a phone for a new Sim thank you
Just put the SIM card inside of the device and you're set.
For Verizon, you'd have to contact them to activate, I could be wrong. Not familiar with Verizon, but either way you'd need a Verizon SIM card.
Would they give me a sim if I get a plan with them

They sure would. You can get pre paid or bring your own device. Haven't done it myself but I've seen many on here do it.

[Q] nexus 6 does not detect any SIM card

Hi!
my Nexus 6 detects no SIM card, I bought it used and with this problem. I'm from Europe and I suspect that the phone could come from US . This could have something to do ?
What can I do?
Thank you very much !
European sims work in North American version fine.. Sounds like a faulty sim tray. Send it back.

thanx!
I asked for price of sim card reader change repair in a local Repair shop and it is around 30 to 50€, good news if this is the solution!
I was afraid this problem could have something to do with the last owner changing software, I am beginner in all this matters.
