[Q] Liquid e proximity censor - Liquid S100 General

I keep repeatedly dropping calls due to my cheeks coming into the contact with the screen while talking..Found out the screen does not stay locked while close to my face, a real annoyance..Does anyone else have this problem with the liquid e ?..would like to know if there is a fix as I feel the proximity censor on the liquid e needs an upgrade.

Which rom are you using using.
Set proximity sensor sensitivity on high. LCR 1.7.x can't do this but stock roms and 1.8 can.
From memory (since I am on 1.7.3):
Settings--> Call Settings--> Advanced Settings-->P-Sensor Sensitivity
Make sure it is high
Else you can do it manually by quickly pressing the power button during a call.

[Q] Disable proximity Sensor

Hi...
Does anyone knows if there is a way to disable the proximity sensor on a Milestone??? or better yet.. recalibrate it..
I have replaced the glass after having smashed the old one.. and now the phone always think the proximity sensor is activated..
my stone,too .
anybody help us? please!!! i lov my stone!
So, ur phone is thinkin' that sensor activated? If that has mean only in dialer, try installing this program: myLock phone tools and set there "Onscreen Accept", "Onscreen Reject" and "Touchscreen lock", that should help u.
I am having same problem, proximity sensor isn't working properly, once screen goes off, can't drop the call. Is there any script or app which can disable prox sensor completely. I am using Android 2.1 rooted phone.
Thank you very much in advance.
same problem
Same problem here my proximity doesn't works, if I call or I attend call screen gets black
None of the keys works at this time. I found an app in market called 'proximity screen off' but as its an app It eats ram & it needs to run anytime in background I need a permanent solution.
Somebody have any idea to disable this sensor using
Any scripts through terminal? Or ...

I have the same issue I already put some spongy tape above the proximity sensor but it's not perfect. I always press the the display with my finger an inch below the left upper corner of the phone after a call and the screen is back.

I used Proximity Sensor Finder app from market to test my sensor.

Stop phone from turning on when rotated on side during phone call?

My GF and I are very annoyed at this problem. When you tilt the phone on it's side, lik eholding it with your shoulder the phone will turn on. It just so happens that your phone's mute button will be on your cheek and we mute each other.
Is there anyway to stop this? Thank you guys in advance.
Are u sure u are not "uncovering" the light proximity sensor when u tilt it. Its very sensitive, and I have noticed it get turned on when the phone gets an inch or more away from ear exposing the light sensor to any form of light.
While on the phone with my girlfriend at night this happens a lot. Because it is so dark, any movement I do will cause the screen to turn on and I have to hit the button to turn it off.
Just try vto keep it glued to your face :/

Yeah I'm sure. The feature is suppose to be for when you set the phone on your desktop the screen will turn on so you can hit speaker or end the call.

Umm simple work around, get something opaque and stick it over the light sensor with something that won't leave a residue so you can take it off when your call is over?
obviously some people fail to understand how this works. there is a light sensor for screen brightness and a proximity sensor. it is the proximity sensor that detects your face and turns off the screen. the light sensor is not involved in this process. what is happening is that the i9000 roms have default android 2.2 settings that force the proximity sensor to be ignored in certain orientations, i dont know about the new att updates but the 2.1 roms had the overrided from samsung. i tried to fix it in tasker but tasker lacks the option to power off the screen, it can go to lock screen instead which may be acceptable for some. there may be a different way to do this in tasker but i need to experiment more.
there is no external workaround for this as it is not the proximity sensor being uncovered that causes most problems but the phones orientation. any workaround or fix must be done with software or a change in a file somewhere.
I am sorry, and have been humbled •_•

This is correct. In simple terms the orientation sensor takes presidence over the proximity sensor. So if you turn the phone on its back while on the phone, the screen will turn on.
There are no fixes for it that I'm aware of.
How abt keeping auto-rotation off all the time, and turning it on only when needed, as a work around?

It's not linked to auto-rotation unfortunately, Its just something that we have to live with.
Man... wish there could be one but sounds like there can't be.

My screen always turns off during calls . . .

. . . and I have to hit the power button to turn the screen back on. To be more precise, the screen turns itself off when I hold the phone towards my ear during calls, and it does not turn itself back on when I hold it away from my ear.
This is obviously some power saving feature that doesn't work as well as it should, like a gimpy proximity sensor. Anyone know a workaround for this ?
I'm on Three Musketeers Sense 3.6 ROM.

Well, ther is a proximity sensor there, near the camera on the top of the phone, on the screen side, and this screen-off thing is more like feature to save power and not to anoy you during the night when you talk to the phone
Don't know why it does that, maybe your sensor is faulty, but try to flash a different ROM and see if something changes, also make sure you don't keep your hand or finger near that sensor, just to be sure, i personally use this ROM and i don't expierience this issue.
Hope this helps

I actually have this EXACT same issue and it is really annoying me.. I have a feeling it is the senor that is faulty, because I haven't even rooted my phone yet.. so everything is all on stock....

If it is possible on Galaxy S2, then it is possible on any android phone , and it is, but there should be made a tool for that or a flashable zip, i'm not that experienced to tell you exactly what needs to be changed, but it can be done, that i know
Same problem here.
Changing roms didn't solve anything
Anybody have solution for this ?
If you have a screen protector covering it then it might be wise to make a cut out or take the protector off altogether.

as i remeber , you can write something in the build.prop that will disable proxy sensor
Im having problem that is almost same. After a long call(when screen is turned off) it turns off but screen or softkeys dont reply any way.
I have to turn of the screen with power button and let it be around 10-15 seconds and turn it on. Then lockscreen appears and everything
works. This is really annoying because I cant cut the line any way.
Not using screen protector and tried couple of custom roms. Allways have the same issue.

No I don't have screen protector or cover.
Problem is identified with proximity sensor itself, on App " Android sensor box " if you select proximity sensor it reads always 0.0cm no mater what you do with phone.
It seems like HW failure, will have to look at it in more detail.

I have tryed few Apps that will lock/disable proximity sensor but without success. It either acts the same or don't light the screen at all.
Anders can you help us with writing some code, I'm willing to be beta tester if you like ?

The problem is when you try to make a second call display turns off, phone is working you can talk, but you can't end the call or nothing because screen is off, so you have to turn it on or wake it by pressing power button. And it's happening only on every second call, so I make a first call, as soon as I try to make a second display turns off, and only power button wakes it, after that you can make the next call normaly, but problem repeats on second call.
Phone was stock on ICS 4.0.3, and making problems there. So it's now fully unlocked ( S-off ) Hboot is 1.28. I have tryed many custom roms, but the problem repeats
I think it's the hardware problem with proximity sensor.

I think too. Sounds like your proximity sensor is weird.

To continue the story, I removed the MB and when the proximity sensor is out of the case, it works ok. When I put it back in case( behind screen ) it doesn't respond again.
Cleaning didn't help, will have to find another one to make sure what is the problem.
I have fixed my problem thanks to this thread

I'm also having some troubles with the proximity sensor. It works randomly (specially in the dark) and sometimes after calling or VOIPing I have to flick the phone or turn off/on the screen to be able to hang up.

nexus 6 proximity sensor issues

Is anyone else having issues with the sensor while on phone calls? Seems like the screen won't stay off while I have the phone to my ear and will start to mess everything up. I returned my first nexus 6 for the same reason and now the 2nd one is doing it.
Also is there a way to fix the vibration think.. Now what it called but seem very loud and loose while I type, is that just the way the phone is?
Are u on 5.1? Do u havê a tempered glass?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
What Teddy said. After reading numerous threads over in the roms sections, it seems that most of the sensor issues are caused by a screen protector of the tempered glass flavor
I am having an issue with the proximity sensor on my phone but the opposite of you after upgrading to 5.1. As soon as a call begins the screen is blank and the phone is unresponsive until the call is over. I downloaded a sensor monitoring app and it says the the proximity is 0.0 (max on).
I do not have a screen protector, I use Hangouts + Hangouts Dialer + GV but this happens in the other dialer too.
Anyone know how to scale that back?
5.01 and no tempered glass
