SGS I9000 Camera Panoramic feature (Enhance the MP?) - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As you already have seen in the camera mode! You can take panoramic pictures with the SGS! but it's only 0.3 mp! The droid x can take much higher resolution panoramic pictures.
Is there a way to hack it so we can take higher resolution panorama pictures?

of course, it's all software, you just need to install another Camera App for that
there is also a very nice Photo Stitch software for Android to do the same thing
then you can take individual high res pic, then stitch it all together

PhotoStitch is not working for the Samsung Galaxy S and i prefer the stock camera app!

Does the camera app in the pre release Froyo firmwares show any indication of increased resolution for panorama shots?
The built in camera app is pretty good and the implementation of pano shots is well done, save for the low rez.

Any updates on this issue?

PUSHING!
I really would want to have this feature modded in one of the camera.apk's
PLEASE!

Now that the thread is bumped, I'd like this feature!

Galaxy Ace (which I own) has this issue too.
Any news/fix/others-raccomanded-apk?

I've used this for some time and it's great:

Camera 480x800 / HD pictures ?

Hellow everyone,
just a little question... Noticed that the camera don't take pictures in HD (480x800 for example) ... instead u have a 640x480 screen resolution wih big black borders at each side. Tried also another camera software like Camera Zoom FX which enable HD picture ... but just stretch 640x480 in 800x480 pictures.
So any chance of real HD pictures with LG optimus 2x?
Thx in advance for your kindley advise...

ok I understand...
The video screen/picture - or call it however u want - is using widescreen (720 x 480 ), the camera picture mode 640 x 480 VGA. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make widescreen picture with the camera pciture mode..
There was one stock camera mod before that can take picture at 6mp (16:9), but the picture ain't good on that particular setting. There's no more development on that camera mod and most people don't want 16:9 picture.

Well I finally found a software which can shoot panorama pictures... it's called pudding camera and it's a freeware... u can find it on playstore

[Q] picture resolution.

Are you aware? draws six frames in burst mode, and the resolution decreases.
Do you have the answer this issue?
Yes sir everyone knows this. Burst mode taken pics are taken at VGA quality...same with the Panorama shot. I know...LG is so lame. But there is/are alternatives. I use the AOSP Jellybean 4.2 Camera for my panorama shots and it records at the full 8MP quality.

[Q] Stock Camera

How to take better quality pictures?
im using offical camera from stock rom on my SIII Mini But they looks good till i zoom them. they have low quality and crappy compression 5 MP picture s just 1.4 mb file.
i have Galaxy Ace and it take better pictures i can zoom them and dont lose the same quality as SIII
ive read in google there are a tweak to increase the video quality but didnt find a way to increase Picture quality on cam and enable or disable JPEG compression
SIII Mini has no zoom support. it has only single lens. so the way a camera app zooms is not by zooming the lens. but zooming the pixel.

many if not all mobile phone cams zoom in with pixels so that is not a S3mini thing

[Q] Best camera app

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on camera apps for the Moto X that they found took better pictures or a better experience than the stock camera app.
Thanks!
I alternate between Perfect Shot (has awesome stabilization, and split focus/exposure), and recently Camera Awesome, since they just recently added split focus and exposure. I suspect its just a matter of time when CA adds HDR (my fav there is Pro HDR). A Better Camera is also great, and includes a histogram, as well as HDR (its a mix of Night Camera and HDR +).
I own them all, plus I love Vignette for some effects I've not seen elsewhere, and VSCO Cam (not the greatest UI though).
I also have a couple others, like ProCapture. I'm a bit of a camera app whore.
For editing, my goto's are Snapseed, Handy Photo, Pixlr Express, Perfectly Clear, VSCO, Vignette, After Focus Pro (awesome), and definitely not least, PS Touch.
Probably just confused you.. Go with Camera Awesome first... it has good editing stuff too.

XZ3C, Disappointing camera with low light

I just bought the XZ3C.. I LOVE its build and size and its spec. I was using Galaxy S3, Nexus5, MotoX, and LG G Flex is my active phone.
G Flex don't have OIS like G2 or G3, but it took some very good photos, sun-rise/set shots with and without HDR.
This phone... camera is not my primary thing on a phone... as I have DSLR(Nikon D90), camcorder(FDR-AX100E)
The picture quality was... crap even on intelligent auto, Manual looks so-so but setting it up take much time on touchscreen
Due to forum image filesize limit the full picture I scaled it down and included 100% crop.
Tomorrow I am taking the XZ3C for outdoor photo test. will post again.
The Photo Details:
Maker: Sony
Model: D5833
A: f/2
Exp. 1/32s
ISO 800

this is software issue
first please test camera with this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.geekstools.cameraW
and post result and inform me to check pics
:good:
Update:
Day light short looks okay scaled preview @ 1920x1080, but when viewing Superior Auto [email protected]%crop like so-so.
I tried the app addon Geeks Empire mentioned. it makes the viewfinder appear on my launcher like smaller floating window. can adjust resolution/flash/move-window-around-luncher, but can't take photo, pressing shutter button does nothing, and crushes with launcher.
Alternatively, Google Camera app worked surprisingly well, finding way to make it the default camera app when press shutter button while phone sleep....

Can you post an image taken on both apps for a comparison?
Cheer.
