hi
is there a solution to root on my GS the JP3 froyo's verion ?
or it d'oes'nt exist at this moment ?
thank's
Much simply is to use JP3 firmware from Modaco, pre-rooted / insecure boot / ClockworkMod recovery for Odin.
You should look a little around before you post.

Hi. I Recently updated from JG4 to JP5 (stock Australian Optus) and rooted using z4root. I have also applied the voodoo lagfix for Froyo.
I am trying to get 2e recovery or CWM Recovery (2e necessary first?). I am looking at flashing CF-Root as described here but am wondering if this will cause problems with z4root/voodoo. I am also unsure what version to use as they list JPH, JPK, JPM and JP6 but no JP5.
Can anyone help me out with what steps I need to take to get 2e back?
did you ever do this or get working.. or figure which z4mod version to use?

Click to collapse
Yes, I just used the JP6 version of CF-Root, which worked.
Hi,
First sorry for my bad english (FRANCE)
For Vinay92, so, did you really manage install CF root JP6 on a base of I9000XXJP5 to obtain recovery 2e?
In that case have you desintall Z4mod and Z4root to manage it.
In my case i have recovery3e on a JP5 with Z4mod and Z4 root and i didn't manage to backup my ROM JP5 with ROM MANAGER because of the recovery 3e (.zip not signed)
Thanks a lot for a response
From rooted speedmod to unrooted non-custom kernel
Hi I have the international galaxy s.
I9000DTJP3
kernel version: hardcore speedmod k13c 500hz #24
build number: FROYO DTJP5
Firstly, I have rooted using Super One Click
And I changed my kernel after reading instructions from this forum.
I now want to undo what I've done and go back to the original phone
(and later maybe update to gingerbread)
I've spent a lot of time reading through this xda forum and finally I make my own thread and ask directly.. Sorry if this has been asked already but I searched almost everywhere.. Maybe its my lack of professional vocab.
1. I'm guessing to unroot, I just click 'Unroot' on Super One Click but will this affect my speedmod?
2. I have the 3 Button Method installed but I don't know how to safely test if it works. Just do the 3 button combo and if it works, go back by simply taking off the batteries?
3. So if that worked all well.. I would have an unrooted speedmod phone. How do I remove this speedmod? Stock roms? I don't know what they mean.. is it the default firmware? do I have to flash it in? If I install that would that automatically replace my speedmod?
Thank you.. I would really really appreciate your help thank you..
haha! I`ve got similar question,
I`ve root my SGS using the One Click, did the 3 button fix, and to my surprise manage to flash the speedmod k13e 500.. currently this is my build *#1234#
I9000DXJPE
I9000DXJPB
I9000OLBJPA
a few days ago, i read doc`s kitchen rom and download the cooked rom with this configuration
*NEW* ZSJPK v11.1 WIPE
CSC : XME
Speed mode kernel
DXJPB Modem
2.2.1 jpj browser etc with tweaks, custom bootanimation and mod sound
so my question can I just use the recovery update.zip to install the rom?
p/s I`ve no idea what I`m doing but it look fun to mess around the phone so I`m a beginner that knows nothing but I could read if that matters
I dont know if it will effect the speedmod but if you just flash the stock rom I think it will replace it.. just imagine if you are going to change from one kernel to another or update to a newer version what will you do? just flash it and badaboom the new one will replace the old one.. so it is a similar process..
Just one question.. if you have the EXT4 lagfix you have to undo/disable that first am I right?
To get back to original ROM, get your version from http://samfirmware.com.
If you used any lagfixes disable them before flashing (because the stock-kernel does not support ext4-partitions).
Flash the firmware (PDA, MODEM, CSC) with odin (repartition not ticked).
To verify the 3-button-combo works just power of your phone and then press "Home+Volume-down+Power", then it should enter download mode.
Hi,
I have recently updated my galaxy s to Gingerbread (PDA: i9000DDJV6 / Phone: DDJV4 / CSC: DDJV6). It has 3e recovery
I want to root my phone now to carry out some customizations, install 2e recovery and maybe install a custom firmware later.
I have been going through the forums but I have a some queries which I couldn't find the answers to.
1. If I install a rooted kernel /firmware and something goes wrong, will installing the DDJV6 ROM from Samfirmware bring it back to the stock factory default config exactly as from Samsung ?
2. Does superoneclick root by changing some settings in the stock kernel or does it just automate installation of a rooted kernel ?
3. Is it okay to install fw versions of other countries if I don't find a DDJV6 (Indian) firmware ? Will it mess up the country specific settings ?
Thanks a lot for your answers
No answers? strange!!
Iam from Germany and iam using the german Kies! But i have installed trough spooffw and UK Version of GIngerbread 2.3.3 because in Germany the GIngerbread Update trough Kies wsa not available. But today it started i saw in the internet. So i need to get back to Stock german Froyo so that the german Kies indentify it and update it but which is this stock german Froyo 2.2 Rom?
Thank your very much for you considerations
Flash back to your stock Eclair 2.1 (Choose the right file depending on your region go to this website samfirware.com), and then upgrade via Kies.
Ok i will test it hopefully i get the right Rom from samfirmware.com
Rooting Gingerbread on my SGS
Hello folks,
first of all I really appreciate the work you put in here to satisfy the community with all the helpful apps and stuff. TY!
Well, it came to the point that I used Kies to update my Germanish SGS i9000 (O²) and the only thing I miss now is the root access to get rid of some really unwanted and memory eating apps.
I used SuperOneClick on Froyo and earlier versions which worked great but seems this is not working on 2.3.3 anymore. Well, I was reading the guide on how to install this CF Kernel but I got scared because others seems to have some reboot issues after doing so. I have to admit that I really don't have much clue about all the Odin pushes and Kernel stuff, and the more I try to understand, the more I get confused (I might blame it only on my age tho^^).
Is there anyone out here that could just guide me to the right CF download for my SGS? That would really help me alot.
Another question would be, after changing the Kernel, can this mess up upgrading to a newer firmware in the future? Do I have to install the original kernel before?
Model: GT-I9000
Firmware: 2.3.3
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVI-CL210427
I downloaded an Eclair Rom from Samfirmware.com but i cant flash it on my sgs i9000 so i decided to flash an Gingerbread 2.3.3 JVO from samfirmware. IS that an official Gingerbread or an customized?
If you want to root under Gingerbread you need to flash another Kernel e.g from Supercurio. Get ODin 1.3 and search in development section for an Kernel and flash it then you ahev superuser rights
hi.
i have an sgs i9000:
build: froyo 2.2 XWJPF
baseband: XXJPP
kernel: speedmod-k13e-500hz #36
i've installed speedmod kernel via odin 1.7 to obtain root. I have superuser but somehow I cannot install busybox (even via Market). It's Root Checker that says so: root OK, busybox not OK.
I've installed Rom Manager and when I boot into recovery it goes to CWM recovery 2.5.1. I've already made a nandroid backup.
My question (and for some of the users i've seen in foruns) are:
I want to test some ROMS but i would like first to change to a chainfire kernel, but there is no cf-root with the JPF reference. What kernel should i use?
From the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 I've read that for Froyo firmware has "CF-Root < 2.4 versions" associated.
Does this means that i should get a CF-Root with JPy (y = F or upper) and v2.3 or lower in the zip filename. Is this correct? Following this assumption, can i use CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.zip ?
After that if want to upgrade to a gingerbread ROM or any other available. The kernel used interferes on the ROM planned to use on the upgrade? And after the ROM upgrade the kernel suffers an upgrade too?
The lagfix should be disabled before ROM change and enabled after that, correct?
Sorry for this extensive list of questions, but i think it can help me and other XWXPF build users.
Regards.
Hay dude first go to www.samfirware.com and download a latest gingerbread rom from there and flash that via odin and then dowload the kernel from xda...such as cf root or galaxian or semaphore...the lastest version of rom is jvr...its quite simple
