[Q] Trouble with RC3 update - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Neep help!!! Can someone help me upgrade my g1 from cyanogenmod v6.0.0(first version of 6) to the experimental version 6.0.0 RC3... i am a rookie at all of this... i am missing a step... v6 works ok, but wont upgrade to rc3...i get an error on all 3 attempts........ 2nd, what radio am i suppose to use.. 2.22.19.26I or 4.06.00.12.7,....... 3rd i dont see adobe flash player on the android market... i got it going up until the rc3 update

If you have 6.0 RC1 installed already and it's *working*, you have all the proper supporting packages. Just flash the RC3 from recovery, then the new tiny GApps file. For the G1, no new radio has been required for any CM6 development.

You'll need to get the htc-1.6 recovery update (taken down, but search in the cyan thread for it), and the cyan 4.2.8 and flash the htc then immediately flash the cyan

latest radio for nexus one on 5.0.8 or cm6 rc2

will flashing the new korean radio 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04 on nexus one with cm5.0.8 work? i mean the frf50 radio that you need to flsh for cm508 is based on froyo build right? correct me if im wrong but is it ok to flash the newest radio on 508?
I'm curious about this too. Has anyone tested if the new Korean radio works with the 720p video hack on cyanogen 508?

You shouldn't have any troubles if you flash the radio and are on CM 5.0.8. Both radio images are for 2.2.

Now this is the part that I don't know. As I said above you should be fine to flash the radio image but I am not sure if you will have 720p, this radio may include something that allows this on 2.2, not sure yet, someone else will have to help with this question.

strange signal problem

I recently updated my N1 to Froyo. I used:
- N1 Radio 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04 (Zip Version)
- eViL's Q&D HTC Sense v.09.7 - base 2.06
Everything is fine UNTIL i use my Display Off button (on top of the N1) After that i complete losing signal. The only way to regain the signal is via restarting the mobile...
i have no clue :-( ...can someone help...
Thanx in advance

Yeah, I had other weird problems with this new radio. Try the other FroYo radio (http://www.androidspin.com/download...Official_Nexus1_Radio_Update_4.06.00.12_7.zip) Make sure to check this to make sure it is correct before flashing it: MD5: e49fb76877688e2c1f0fadcf8048c549
Enomther uploaded this radio image originally, flash this radio with your current ROM instead of the 5.08 radio.
See if that helps, both are 2.2 (FroYo) radios. If not report back, unless someone else has an idea.
I found that my network issue had something to do with the ROM (eViL's Q&D HTC Sense v.09.7) There was a network bug in some way, which has been fixed in the new version v.09.8.
Now everything works fine for me.
@vakman: thx for help!!

[Q] Rooting a G1 running Android 1.0?

A while back I rooted my G1 which was running 1.6 and I successfully rooted and installed cyanogenmod. I wasn't impressed with the battery life so I decided to switch roms. I did something wrong and my phone pretty much reverted back to unrooted Android stock 1.0. That was a while back and I have been pretty much hanging with it since. I could do generic things such as send and receive calls, send text messages, play music off sd, etc., but I'm tempted to find a way to root my phone again and with a diff rom. Is there a way to do this with android version 1.0? Can I also do this without a data plan and just wifi?
Here are the specs for my G1 if anything:
Firmware Version: 1.0
Baseband Version: 62.33.20.08H_1.22.12.29
Kernel Version: 2.6.25-01843-gfea26b0 [email protected] #6
Build number: kila-user 1.0 TC4-RC29 115247 ota-rel-keys, release keys
forget it. I got cyanogenmod up and running. Close thread.
Before this is closed, try out the Froyo for Trout rom. Its stable, and faster than CM. Really recommend this.
Anything will be better off than CM (that from my experieces) But the new CM (XDA Mod) is promissing.
@ TheIneffable - I would suggest (if you still wants to use CM) to look at [ROM] NameLessFroyo (CyanogenMod variant) by NLJ or [ROM][2.3.7 GB][18.10.11] BananaBread v1.2 DS +cMTD(Based on CM 7.1) by banana4444.
But if you would like to try other ROM, I suggest [Rom][2.2.2 AOSP] DREAMteam Froyo v1.9 "I'm hungry...." by DreamTeam (AKA:Green ROM Projects) or FroyoMelt (see my sig for link) also by DreamTeam (with Customization by ldrifta).

Yeah CM5 has different Gapps than CM6
But really...why CM6? It's super slow...
Try CM7 or Froyobylaszlo...or stick with CM5
If cm6 is slow.which of the two suggested would be best.I'm looking for something easy to cut my teeth on.
froyobylazslo is a great rom
before you flash you need to meet the requirements
search the 2708+ thread
