[Q] Calendar notifications - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry for the stupid question, but I just can not find the answer.
How can i change my "TIME" notification in my calendar.
If i don't put the time in my agenda or event, it always notifies me at midnight 24:00 or 0:00. And always wakes me up in shock. (if i just put something like, buy some stuff - without 07:00)
The default time I can put 5, 10, 15, .. minutes before the time is right. So I just put 15 minutes before something like 07:00. But with no time he wakes me up at 23:45. And I just can take it anymore.
Any thoughts.

Daylight Savings issue

Not sure the best place to post this question. Here in Sydney, Australia, we just switched over to daylight and added 1 hour. The phone automatically added one hour which is great. However the allarm that i had set did not go off at the correct time. The Alarm was set to go off at 5am, but instead it went off a 6am. I did a test and set the alarm and it did go off at the correct time. Does anyone know why the alarm did not work correctly?
Look at it the bright way.. I live in Aus too, and Fedora set my system clock 1 hour back instead of forward :/
It might be because the alarm set itself using UTC. Most Linux/Unix devices set their system clock as UTC and artificially change it to the correct timezone, because otherwise if you cross the international date line (or change time at any point), weird stuff happens, and you start to see files as created 18 hours in future, etc.
It's possible that alarms during DST were overlooked during development, and Samsung forgot to manually modify the alarms when DST starts. It's an easy problem to overlook, and it wouldn't surprise me if plenty of other devices/mobiles had the same issue
meh.. so you missed 1 alarm. I never expect my workers to show up for work on time during dst switch over

Does this works with already existing calendars or you need to add that to the app ?
The app use the calendar associated to the account you set in your phone.
The app recover automatically the appointment set for each account.
And what are the benefits/advantages/unique features over built-in calendar? Why should I buy this one?

Because it displays week numbers, maybe?
I'll give it a try and report back...
Edit: On the Display page (as shown on last thumbnail) maybe you should leave the start and end times free to choose, not everybody does a normal job, you know, just an opinion. And by tapping the tile, day or week (depending on the tile tapped) should be opened instead of the parameters page which IMHO should be last..
Nice app otherwise, the built-in calendar is frustratingly lacking features.
well, the starting point of the project was to offer a week view. It's something that the built in app doesn't not offer
The browsing between the different view is done with flick instead of having to tap on an icone in the application bar. In the build in app to access month view you have an icon for that.
The month view i provide give some usefull information that let you know if you have appointment in the morning, afternoon or all day. The build in app just display text so small that it's useless.
You can swap easily between view by clicking on week number or on the days. Nice when you want to set an appointment in the futur.
For the tile, you have 2 kind of tiles : week or day. The built in app offer only day and for only the next appointment.
With my tile you can have a graphic view of the day or week and/or the next 2 appointment for the current day.
But the best way to discover the app is to give it a try
Its nice application, but only 5 starts in trial mode is very liitle :-( When i set Live Tiles, some options and trial is done :-( Cannot test, 10 starts could be better number...
One definite bug, and two maybes (first one is a bug);
1) When doing AM/PM, it shows Noon as 12AM middle of day - should be 12PM (this is on day and week views)
2) When viewing day, it does not display starting at the start time you select (not sure where it starts, at current time of day you view it?). Week does.
3) My live tile shows nothing when you first pin it. Takes awhile to show anything (I am guessing the 30 minutes).

This one is a critical; if author not implemented prompt tile updates (using push notification), this app is useless (regardless of week view).
1) hmm, my mistake. didn't notice that as i mainly use 24h.
2) when you display current day, time is set to the current time. When it's not current day, it's start à midnight. I have to agree that currently the parameter is not clear. Should be better with the next update
3) The first tile update is not generated from the app. you have to wait max 30mn. it's also something i'll adress in the next version.
Beside the first generation, update are running fine.
Thanks for the feedback, it'll help improve the application.

Thanks. Love the week view. My wife loved it so got it for her's as well.
Following the return of the betas testers and also of the first users, here are the main elements of future V1.1:
View:
- Addition of fixed hour day view (almost finished)
- Addition of a 24hours scrolling week view
Tile: Improvement
- dedicated screen for customization
- Tile preview in the app
- First tile generation made from the app
Number of launch for trail version increased : between 10 and 20 (to be defined)
+ several little things
Delay : Less longer than you wish, faster than you hope 
Benefit from the last days to profit from launching price: change of price Monday
PS: don’t hesitate to evaluate the application
One suggestion, please consider making it open on the day view instead of the parameters page.
It's already done
check in the parameters

Sweet! I can choose any page now!
Thanks
This is a nice app. I'll like it more when it can be used to actually edit the calendar. I understand this is a limitation of the OS and not the app though.
A thought:
I don't like when calendars show Sun at the end of the week. It'd be nice to have the option to have it at the beginning of the week.

Timer is stupid!

I just got this watch today and spent the day going through the options, and finding out how things worked. I have moved from the Gear Fit which I liked, due the functionality of what it did, suited me for what I needed. One of these functions was the Timer.
The Live's Timer app is very stupid in comparison. You can't specify an exact minute / second combination except by voice, and I can't figure out how to view the timer, once it's started, to view the time that's left. Once the Timer starts, it basically goes into hiding and you can't bring it up again?
Is there a good countdown timer app that anybody knows of? This is basically the only function that I need, to move from the Gear Fit full time.
I have downloaded a number of apps specified in the 150+ Apps thread, of which have made the watch so much better than the Fit, but there doesn't seem to be any Timer / Countdown in the search.
TIA

[Q] Calendar widget and Weather issues

So I reverted bac kto ARHD 81 after trying CM11 for a couple months, and as much as I am pleased at going back to Sense, I have encountered 2 really weird and slightly irritating things that my OCD is finding difficult to let slide.
First off, and more important - the 2x3 Calendar widget - for some reason, the "tomorrow, XX Oct" is wrong. Meaning - it will say tomorrow, then put todays date e.g "tomorrow, 17 Oct", even though today is the 17th. Then, the next set of events will be labelled as simply "Saturday, 18th Oct", instead of "tomorrow, 18th". I hope that more or less makes sense, but I am lost as to why the calendar thinks I am at "yesterday" in real terms... Any idea what may be causing the false reporting?
Second - the weather widget (stock HTC, which I have always liked), refuses to update location - this is despite being on high accuracy mode, no location restrictions enforced on HTC apps, and refresh rate set to 1 hour. It simply will not update my location and remain at the city I was at a few days ago when I installed ARHD. Any idea what I can do to get functionality back for this widget?
Many thanks.
EDIT:
Forget it.. I managed to figure it out. I "over-used" the App-ops.. Basically I turned off Location access to the Google Play Store and the HTC Services - there was my answer.
About Calendar widget - for some reason the local network reporting is off.. When I set my time zone manually to another location nearby with the same time - everything is back to normal. Weird, but I can live with that..

Question What could be breaking through Do Not Disturb and how do I chance notifications sort order?

I've got two questions which are related. I have Do Not Disturb on my phone set up to start each night at 10 PM, and not go off until 8 AM the next day. For some reason I've been awaken several mornings, early in the morning (between 4 and 5 AM). A single beep as if it's coming from a social media app with someone informing me that they've posted a picture of their toenail clippings. Why am I getting these EXTREMELY IRRITATING NOTIFICATIONS??????????????????????????
Second question. I have tried to find what notification it is that comes through in the wee hours of the morning, but it is impossible for me to find it, unless I spend hours scrolling through all notifications in the Notifications center. That's because the default sort order is by category. Is it possible to change the default sort order to chronological order, with most recent at the top? That would help immensely.
You didn't mention searching Settings. Did you search there for that feature's keyword?
It comes up quickly with the keyword search as disturb.

Excellent question. I didn't search Settings because I thought all settings had been transferred by Samsung's Smart Switch app, when I migrated things off my old phone to my new phone. I know that other settings had been migrated, so I thought all settings had been migrated. Well, it turns out that I was wrong. It turns out that the Do Not Disturb settings had not been migrated. In fact, it wasn't even turned on. So, I turned that on and reset the dates/times. So, my bad. However, like I said, other settings had been moved. I hadn't considered the possibility that not all settings hadn't been migrated.

@Rod F it's possible, but you need GoodLock. After you download GoodLock you have to download QuickStar module for Goodlock and there you can change the notification sorting.
