Is there a way to boost the audio volume coming from the jack port on a rooted phone?
Thanks!

Thank you very much! I did readthat thread, but it seems I never looked ahead enough! This is indeed very helpful! Unfortunately I use my phone in the car a lot, and my car hifi is not powerful enough, so I need to push the phone amp as far as it can go...it was simpler with an ipod, but I think I can manage with this too...
Thanks again!!

You can try this, don't know if it will work or not.

Lvh on the market has louder hacks for everything, from speaker to bluetooth to headphones to in call. If you're too cheap to buy it, his website tells you how to do it manually.
Edit: I'm an ass, that's exactly what he linked too. Lol
It works, but the little speaker can only handle so much before breaking up.

Sony ericsson and other brands switched the pins on the headset plug so you can only use that specific plug. You need a converter in order to make them work.. I know, it sucks.. There is a thread about that somewhere.

This only affects headphones with microphone.

damn. but thanks anyway.
I had the same problem with my old skull candy headphones that had a mic.
I solved it by ripping the plasstic cover up abit thats on the jack. so it pushes in deeper on ur phone.

[Q] Headphone not working properly after flashing ROMS.

Hi guys, I tend to flash ROM's pretty frequently. I've noticed that my headphones stopped working properly. I only heard the audio on my left headphone and not the one on the right. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance. This is a great community we have here. I have new headphones so I don't believe that is the problem.
That's usually the problem when only works. Have you tried them on anything else to confirm? Maybe there's debris blocking contact

Thanks for your response be-eock. Love your work here on xda. I tried my new headphones on other things and they are working great. It is only when I use them on my phone that I only get audio on the left side.

Try cleaning out the jack for the headphones.
I tried cleaning it out with a q-tip and got some minor cleaning done but no luck with the headphone sound. I tried voodoo sound to push mono instead of stereo through the headphones but no luck.

I have finally figured out what the problem is. The headphone jack is starting to go. When I press down on the headphone while in the jack I was able to finally get sound out of the right-headphone. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I have to figure out how to replace the jack.

What I found most helpful on my Captivate was (1) installing a kernel that includes Voodoo Sound mods, and (2) downloading the Voodoo Control app to control it. Turns out the captivate has a fantastic sound chip and can put out a lot more volume if needed.
good luck!
That would be via the 3.5mm jack. I'm taking about the earpiece the speaker above the att logo used for calls. There is no way to boost its volume. I'm definite it needs to be replaced. Just need someone to confirm which part of the 2 do I need to get it fixed. Also I got a work around to the capacitive buttons by using the nav bar on slim ics

NS homemade dock

hello!
I'm going to use my car stereo as an indoor one to hook it up via either BT or 3.5mm jack to my NS, but I don't want to spend on a Samsung dock yet, but I'd rather do some DIY... also, official dock doesn't have audio connector :/
So, is there a way to automatic set dock mode using the USB cable?
I remember something about using resistances in the plug, but couldn't find the thread :/
Any help appreciated
