Hmm, im not sure if its that easy. Nothings impossible, but i would think if it were easy domeone would have figured it out already (or maybe someone has). Pretty sure that image isnt anywhere in the framework-res.apk as it launches regardless of the rom you flash, right?
I can has warranty back...?
in touch hd change with exe file in ur pc
like install a rom

This image is indeed replaceable, there were a couple of old threads with instructions. But it doesn't affect the warranty in any way - the bootloader still shows UNLOCKED when you enter it.
nobody know about it???
I read that you can't change the bootloader.
Other people tried to change it because they wanted to erase the unlocked image

How do I root an HTC One GE on a Mac? I'd like to do so before I set up the phone tomorrow. Done some googling and couldn't find an answer. Did my N4. Is it the same files/procedure?
Sorry for the duplicate post, but I realized I had entered the title in correctly.

I'm a noobie. Need more direction than that.
you just said you did your N4.
procedure is exactly the same
or after you do fastboot oem unlock from the bootloader screen you can follow my tutorial for recovery and root.

I was under the impression there were specific drivers for the devices. So if I follow the tutorial on the website I post below it will work?

Just make sure you get the HTC One recovery and not the N4.. based on your lack of knowledge, based on your multiple questions, I would hold off a bit though.. as far as I know there isn't a confirmation as to if the recovery from the normal One is compatible with the GE One. I could be wrong though

Thanks. I guess I'll hold off. I figured there had to be some custom files and that they arent all plug and play. Thanks for your help. I'll prob wait a couple weeks. I just wanted to do it immediately to avoid having to wipe again.

You don't need to wipe for a recovery. When you get the device and its good to go, go into fastboot and type
"fastboot oem unlock"
Then after you unlock it reboot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset.. then hold off for recovery. Once your unlocked you no longer are required to wipe for anything

Aaah. Didn't think of that. Which files do I need for that?
On a mac? Just fastboot
Rooted using a combination of instructions. Pleased to say it worked. Only problem I have had so far is that on one occasion it told me I was not rooted, when in fact I was. A reboot fixed that problem.

bootloop by boot animation ? rom toolbox is doing something wrong
look for any boot animation over forums and place it in system/media replacing the old bootanimation.zip and set right permissions and reboot
if something went wrong by placing bootanimation , device shell boot without bootanimation
check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521643 , there is thousands more over forums
Ok so I have unlocked my bootloader now with SunShine thanks to jcase. Can anybody link me to the proper thread for installing a custom recovery? Also, I assume that installing a custom recovery means a full data wipe, correct?
This guide has it all....

best way is:
go on the play store download the app flashify and go through the process it take you. are you rooted?
Done and done. Unlocked and rooted finally! Now to just remove that unlocked bootloader message. I missed my xposed modules!

I actually flashed the boot animations with twrp. I was initially worried that installing twrp would wipe data but it didn't so I went that route since I've used twrp on all my other devices.

Are you talking of the boot animation or the bootlogo (bootlogo is the white boot loader unlocked screen before the animation) any how when I change my boot animation I just place the zip in the system>>>media folder with root explorer.

I changed both. The animation works fine when I flash them through twrp, but the logo (where it used to give the bootloader unlocked warning) is a cyan colored screen with a white box where the logo should have replaced it. I tried to flash it through fastboot and mfastboot both of which were unsuccessful. Not sure what I've done but as you can imagine it's pretty ugly. I can take a picture of it if necessary.

I need the partition.mbn file from the system dump of xt1052, as mine is hard bricked. I believe the file can save my phone. So, please help me !!
Guide for extracting the file : connect USB (should be rooted + USB debugging enabled), launch RUN_backup_all.bat, "backup" named folder will appear, find partitions.mbn there
Thank You.

As long as you are pretty sure you're stuck and have a useless device, then you may as well try a retail version and re-customize it from there. A quick search showed this as a possible source for you (asia-aust v) http://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto X (2013)/Stock/XT1052/ for 5.1.
RSDLite it and good luck. Don't forget to backup anything you want saved from the /sdcard/* world, if you can still access it. The stock .XML file will blow that stuff away.

I re-read the thread and realized that I'm so used to people mis-using phrases like hard-bricked around here.. I figured that if you were even able to contemplate trying to somehow flash the partitions.fbn , that you must have some way into bootloader. My mistake. Sorry about that.
I've seen a couple of supposed ways (well, the JTAG way probably works if you want to go through that mess) for the moto-x when the bootloader is "gone". Another exploit for that for the Moto-X supposedly is to flash a blank bootloader. If I find any of the old threads on that, I'll post links. OK: For example, here's some old post with working links for the oddball f/w & drivers needed to do it. It's sort of a JTAG method without bothering with the JTAG H/W. It's also for a different model moto-x but I doubt that matters. Here's a link: http://www.usoftsmartphone.com/t300062.html

Hello, I am new to xda and I hope you can help me
I changed the bootsplash of my s10 with TWRP following this tutorial.
It works well as you can see in boot_aston.jpg. But after this screen I have another samsung one as you can see in boot_samsung.jpg.
Is it possible to edit or delete this screen ?
EDIT 1 : I decompressed the up_param tar to see what was inside and it seems that the samsung screen isn't in there...

there must be another place that you need to change the file the bootloader is looking for if its showing you 2 different pictures.

This is what I deduced too. But I'm totally a noob on the Android bootloader so I don't know where to look for that second image. I have already searched everywhere on XDA but no one seems to be talking about it ...
SOLUTION :
When rooted in a adb shell, delete the system/media/bootsamsung.qmg file.
Works perfectly for me

well, there ya go! i assume that by deleting the second image it no longer thinks it has 2 to display thereby making it just use that one the user wanted in the first place
In up_param.bin image.jpg and image svb_orange.jpg need be the same.
I have a feeling that's just the stock boot animation
But I like that Aston Martin boot splash, can I get one for the s10e
