bootloop by boot animation ? rom toolbox is doing something wrong
look for any boot animation over forums and place it in system/media replacing the old bootanimation.zip and set right permissions and reboot
if something went wrong by placing bootanimation , device shell boot without bootanimation
check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521643 , there is thousands more over forums

Hmm, im not sure if its that easy. Nothings impossible, but i would think if it were easy domeone would have figured it out already (or maybe someone has). Pretty sure that image isnt anywhere in the framework-res.apk as it launches regardless of the rom you flash, right?
I can has warranty back...?

This image is indeed replaceable, there were a couple of old threads with instructions. But it doesn't affect the warranty in any way - the bootloader still shows UNLOCKED when you enter it.
nobody know about it???
I read that you can't change the bootloader.
Other people tried to change it because they wanted to erase the unlocked image
hi
i cant find ICS boot animation for my DHD
any one can help me?
Try this, just push it to where your current bootanim is.
(I havnt tried this yet so i cant guarantee that it will work 100%)
What I did, was take the boot animation (/system/media/bootanimation.zip) from this rom and placed it in the same zipped folder in my desired rom.

Has anyone found a way to disable system write protections? Trying to put a new boot animation in. I'm running OMJ's rom and yes I tried vipers system write protection disabler but it broke my wifi and its the wrong firmware.

You need to look at S-OFF. Vipers' solution isn't really a substitute. If you're on the newest bootloader you may be hosed though on that front.

I am s-off. But I can't edit system files?
One way that's sort of worked for me is to prime the stock rom with whatever I wanted beforehand. For example, I deleted the Sprint bloat from the stock rooted rom before flashing so that they never actually get installed. You could do the same with a boot animation.

True, I'm probably doing it wrong. I'm trying to change my boot animation. So I have the zip (nonflashable) on a usb connected with an OTG cable and I'm trying to replace the old animation with this one.
Ok figured it out. Used FX instead of ES and it worked -_-. I feel stupid.
New question. If I don't like the current bootdown can I just delete it with no problems?
Thanks for all the help

1. try going into recovery and do a factory reset.
2. if that doesn't help, reflash and all your problems are solved.
do a clockwork mod backup before messing around next time

Use LG mobile support tool, also its "stuck" not "stock"
What are you on? He needs to reflash the rom as he changed the fonts and some may be missing, happens to loads of people, no need for a factory reset, just restore the fonts folder or reflash the rom, if you don't have an unlocked bootloader, bite the bullet, unlock ya bootloader and come over to AOSP in which i would recommend a 4.2.2 ROM.. or do the long winded way of flashing the stock Rom, your all giving some real extreme methods, it doesn't have to be this complicated..

asking for spoonfeeding isn't gonna help you in XDA forums.
instead of wasting your time here look for that guide to reflash in PLAIN SIGHT.
This is not a customer care center.
Hello,
My device is running nougat with an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and rooted.
I tried to change my boot animation via /system/media and I gave a permission to read/write but it doesn't work then I tried a flashable boot animation but it kept the same.
Can someone point me where I am wrong?
Anything would be appreciated

PRODUCT\etc\media\bootanimation.zip
how did you expect it to work if there is no bootanimation.zip in system\media ?
however rebooting is not good for the performance of your device just like killing background apps all the time and its not even battery friendly but have fun.

Thank you my friend, It works
but believe there is another bootanimation there
Anyway, why you don't recommend changing it?

You should not reboot your device too often maybe once a week.
Changing to a fancy bootanimation just lead you to rebooting
