I downgraded my sprint ruu from build number .6 to .5 then I rooted my Hero Via Regaw's intructions, then I linked my google and Facebook account with Sense and Google synced but now I cant Sync My Facebook contacts with my Regular Contacts ... Any Idea's Why?
Its something on htc and facebooks end which they are fixing.

I actually just checked again after a soft reboot. It seems to be working fine now.
I dont see any of my contacts either
I think I read somewhere that HTC Sync will not work with the CM6 ROM running froyo. Is there an application that will sync my outlook contacts and calendar appointments with that ROM? Is there a different 2.2 ROM that would better suit my needs? I am kind of lost without my appointment book, but I really want to change up the ROM to check out the new features.
why not just sync your outlook to your google account? isn't it kind of lame that your contacts and calendar were only syncing when you plugged a usb cable into one specific computer?
since your on outlook, are you talking to an exchange server? because I think android has built in exchange syncing.
and its unlikely there will be a 2.2 rom featuring sense any time soon if ever.
Last I heard they were waiting for the legend to get 2.2 with sense before they could attempt to get it on the hero. I love having google calendars

So I've been using Google Sync for years now with Android and for some reason I decided to use a Blackberry as my backup. Well when I synced my Blackberry it DUPLICATED all my contacts on the phone and on Gmail!
Then when I merged the duplicates, I lost a LOT of contacts!
So, the contacts on my Nexus One are still perfect and untouched. I need to sync my NEXUS 1 ONE WAY to my Gmail. I am afraid if I sync the Nexus, my Gmail will sync to my phone and destroy my full/untouched set of contacts on my Nexus.
So, is there a way to sync my phone one way TO my GMAIL?

after installing darkys rom v8 my phone only sync my 1st calender (the standard one) all other in my gmail account wont get recordnize (no entry in my settings on the phone...)
can anyone help?
Is the HTC Sync application supposed to work in Cyanogen 7.0.2? When I connect the phone via USB cable, it wont launch the HTC software on either the phone or the computer.
I can see that is in installed in settings/apps but I can't find it in the program group.
I just upgraded to this ROM from the sprint 2.1 stock and it seems to be working fine except for the sync to get all my contacts back.

I hope you know that Cyanogen is not HTC software... what it means is, even though you have HTC Sync installed on your computer, it won't trigger anything on the computer or on the phone.
What are you trying to do, anyways?
All I am trying to do is sync my contacts and calendar from outlook to my phone.
I can do this via gmail but there seems to be a lot of hoops to go through and it seems to have problems importing reoccurring events on the calendar.
So what you are saying is Sync will not work in this mod?
yes i also wondered it is installed - but never tested it as i didn't expect it to work - as I also had problems with htc sync on other custom roms "with sense".
Anyway if u search for a replacement in case u need search for MyPhoneExplorer.
It nearly does the same - and fitted best what i needed (even syncing with thunderbird,... + wlan sync)

Take the free software MyPhoneexplorer 1.8.1 latest.
This software connetcs between Outlook and the Androidphone, you have only to create one calendar and one contact entree.
check it the best ever

thanks for the heads up about this app, i hadnt used htc sync in so long i forgot to even check for an alternative. now that i have one, i actually use the calendar on my phone again, lol
