Hello, I know this is XDA and not the cyanogen forums, but I've been there and done that, and no one's really given me a solution that works (both on the forums, irc chat, the developer of the irc client I use, etc), so I'm at the end of my wits and I'm going to try here since the community here might know what to do. Cyanogen RC3 has been giving me problems with Andchat lately, ones I never got with Cyanogen. Andchat lags whenever I scroll up or down. I have also recently noticed that Android IRC suffers from the same problems. The problem can be solved by switching servers, but comes back instantly the second someone posts a message. I have tried reflashing and wiping, contacting the developer, etc. Nothing has worked, does anyone have a solution that works? One other thing, apon contacting the developer, I was told the only people who'd been reporting the problem where those running custom ROM's. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello,
I've been having a problem with AndChat not connecting to IRC.
It will only connect over Wifi, not 3g/edge. I am on T-Mobile and Cyanogenmod latest. More detailed specs are in my sig.
I have tried wiping, reflashing the defanged base and reflashing Cyanogenmod, and reverting my hosts file from AdFree. But I still can't connect.
I have another backup phone that connects to IRC flawlessly with the same simcard, so I know it must be a problem with my phone.
Any ideas on what my problem might be and how I might fix it?
Did the connectivity tester apk I linked you to in the email help?
I downloaded and installed it, but it just sits there trying to connect as well.
I am trying to connect to irc.freenode.org:6667, but I have tried also irc.osx86.hu:6667 and it still does not connect.
It's like just my phone has this problem.
Edit: I tried again this afternoon, I could connect successfully with the tool to irc.freenode.net:6667 and to irc.osx86.hu:6667. But my AndChat still does not connect to either.
This is a pretty crazy problem. It affects more then 1 app with seemingly no cause or pattern. I'm baffled as to what could be causing it :|
Do you think it could be my radio or something?
A while ago I tried an add-on to increase edge and 3g speeds, too, but now it's integrated into CyanogenMod if I remember correctly. So that shouldn't be the cause. Plus, I've wiped and tried new installations of CM since then and still get the problem.
If it was the radio, I think there would be more issues in general. Have you tried different ports on freenode? They use ports 6665, 6666, 6667, 7000(SSL Only), 7070 (SSL Only), 8000, 8001 and 8002 according to their website.
For some reason it magically started working after I got out from work today and tried it. A fellow IRC user (who has also had the same connectivity issues) and I have both had problems but it started working randomly today. Maybe T-Mobile fixed something with the connections? I don't know.
Thank you so much for your help though, it wasn't a problem with your app but you were still very nice and willing to try and fix the problem!
Hi all,
I'm currently using Incbusus' Super Eclari Lite Rls5, but I've had this issues off and on since I got my Vogue, and I started on Warm Donut RLS3.
I use text messaging a lot, mostly to talk to my girlfriend who lives in another state. However, I have a lot of issue with either my phone never receiving some text messages, or receiving them incredibly late.
Is there something I should be doing differently? Do other people have this issue? What can I do to fix this?
That is a known issue with that build that im having trouble resolving. Most of the other builds should not have this issue.
so you're saying try one of the other builds, and I shouldn't have issues? Alright, I really like RLS5, but this is a pretty important feature for me.
I apologize if this is a repost. I've done extensive searching on this and found only limited results.
My girlfriend has a Droid 1. We had her first Droid replaced due to a bad proximity sensor.
The replacement worked fine for about a month or so. Now she is having issues.
First, the Facebook app won't load at all. Additionally, we tried loading it on the browser and that didn't work. That makes me think that it's a Facebook issue not a Droid issue. Is anyone else having this problem?
Second, the GPS doesn't work at all now. It can't find her location. It just keeps searching. I've read a few posts where an app may interfere with the GPS. Has anyone had this experience? Also, I've heard of the app GPS Test and the fact that it can potentially fix the problem. Could this be true?
I am willing to try anything to make her happy considering I have to deal with the complaints.
Her phone is all stock 2.2. I haven't rooted it or customized it in any way.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Edit: Now I can't access my facebook. I have a Droid also.
Hi!
I have a really weird problem with my SGS.
When I'm installing ANY firmware (I've tried every single one) except of my original FW "JPB", I can't get my WiFi working.
There are actually 2 types of Wifi behavior on the different ROMs. The first one is when you're connecting to the Wifi and you can actually open Google.com, Android Market, etc, normally. But when it comes to a "heavy" sites such as youtube, wifi connection just freezes and nothing helps before you'll close the browser and reconnect to the access point.
On some other roms you're connecting to Wifi without any errors too, but you can't actually open any site at all. And only on FW "JPB" (which is russian official) there is no such a problem.
Also Samsung Apps doesn't work on other ROMs, I even thought that it can be related somehow... I know that there's no logic here, so I'm really confused.
Oh, and even if I'm installing Voodoo lagfix on my official firmware I'm still getting into this trouble
I really want to hear your opinion, so please don't hesitate to reply.
Thanks in advance,
Jay
I wasn't able to find a solution in the Honeycomb Dev thread but I found several people with the same issue but so far nobody has found a solution from what I can tell.
I have the market installed and it seems to come up after a while however I can't reliably download anything. Angry Birds for example takes a full day to download. I also get a lot of Gtalk authentication errors even though it seems to log in fine once I go into it. I've also tried creating a new Gmail account to see if there was an issue with mine but so far nothing is working. I haven't tested regular web browsing speeds fully however it seems to be slow as well.
Has anybody experienced this or know of the solution?
Just wanted to confirm your issues. I too have issues with the wi-fi lag. When I run stock rooted and Nookie Froyo I have no issues. I guess it's still in it's early stages and bugs are to be found. Hopefully a fix will be along soon. But so far I haven't found anyone with a solution yet.
Yep, that's the issue.
