Google earth Kaos froyo - Droid Eris Themes and Apps

Looking for Google earth and I can't find it in the market. Does anyone know if it will work on kaos froyo v30? Thanks
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App

even if you could find google earth in the market its not going to open once installed it just will not run on the eris.

Google earth is Google maps on the Eris. Maps should be on your phone already or is available for free on the market.

I have the googleearth.Apk and it don't work on the Eris.

I downloaded it once expecting that it was going to be different then maps, but it didn't work. Did a lil research and found out that on the Eris, a Google phone, Google earth is the stock Google map app on the phone. Street view, satellite and gps navigation.

Google Earth is still different than maps. My wife has both on her D1 and with Earth you have the actual view of the planet and you can rotate it and what not just like Earth on the pc. So no, it's not the same thing. Why else would they have it? Lol
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App

Haha wow! Well at least I wanst crazy for tying it to see it was different. That also means the info I found was not right lol. Sorry if I misled anyone! It still, unfortunately, wont work on the Eris tho. Google maps and Google sky maps are as close as we can get
Sent from my nonsensikal froyo using XDA App

Yah we won't get it cause I'm pretty sure it one of those arm7 only things or a bigger screen thing

Why can't we find it in the market
Sent from my FroyoEris using Tapatalk
I don't think it's meant to run the Eris.

Could it also be a problem with the rom and the market

if you google or search with yahoo on your pc, you can download the apk of it and install it to your phone. It is like 12 or 14 megs, and to explain why you cannot get it, is because it does not show up on froyo roms for eris in the market. I finally took mine off my phone, it was fun to play but horrible to look at on an Eris. Barely any graphics are shown, level 10 and beyond was too big for the screen to show so the birds ended up looking like a dot because of the zoom out needed...There are plans later on down the road from the developers to produce a version for older phones like ours and the heros though...
I have downloaded the app from xda, not tough. It will not install. How can I install it? Tried app brain quick app Installer, onymous installer etc. Nothing works.

Try moving the .apk file to the root of your SD card. I did that with the beta 1 and it worked fine. It helps to keep Angry Birds on your sd anyways. Moving it to the phone somehow turns it into, from what I remember, 35+ mb of space.

IF you are still LOOKING for the app itself, visit this webpage and simply download the angry birds lite .zip file.

If you are having issues playing the game with good quality, I suggest these steps.
1. Root your phone and install a custom rom. The kaos froyo v35 mod is excellent. You can find directions for that in Htc droid eris development in the forums. Rooting gives you the best performance and usage on your phone to its best capabilities.
2. Spend the 2 bucks and get SetCPU in the android market.
3. Fine tune your droid eris' SetCPU and ADW mods settings. I suggest googling tips and tricks on doing so. If I find the link I used I will post it.

This site will blow your eris out of the water and really make your phone comparibly fast to some of the newer android phones in the market.

Sorry has nothing to do with the topic... anyways cannot install angry birds WTF?!!!

Did you try installing the .apk file from the ROOT of your sd card yet? Download the file from my above post and try that one. Don't get mad about off topic posts if u havent tried yet. And they aren't off topic. Angry birds is a very demanding app so getting your phone performing well and supplying guidelines to do so is more of a help than none. If my posts and the other guys don't help, I don't know what will. So do what we mentioned and report back with what you did/ tried.

Check mapdroyd.com
Never mind, this has no navigation function..

Yeah I need a navigation app that I could download the map

Check Locus out
I think the latest Maps 5.0 provides offline navigation function, but I never tried it..
I use Maverick for offline maps caching, Maverick has both free and paid versions, Locus looks pretty nice too but Maverick requires less permissions to run.
The built in Google Maps already does offline navigation.

But it's crappy as hell.
It will reliably "offline cache" a currently calculated route ... but it's hope and pray otherwise, whether something was locally cached.
And forget about traveling somewhere and "pre-caching" the location (e.g. so that you don't incur roaming charges)
But I need a good one like the GPS app on an HTC Sense like d desire hd

Try Maverick.
It's meant for off road, but still works on road...

You want a free app that's like a paid app?
Pay and download whatever you want.
If you want free - use either Google navigation, or Waze (if it supports Canada).

You have to download the maps initially, but once downloaded you don't need to connect again. I use it when I'm out in the mountains, with no connection...

Tunee music

On my captivate I was able to use tunee music app but am unable to find in the market on my sns.
Any help would be awesome.

I've had this app for quite a while and I know it's been in and out of the market, most likely because it's in a legal gray area. I remember recommending it to my coworkers only to discover it wasn't in the market any longer. It came back a couple months later with a free and paid version, but now there are only paid versions.
Tunee.net has a downloadable apk and I'm not sure if that's the newer one or not, but it's worth a shot.
Thanks, just had to update my market and then found it.
Thanks again

Do VZW or Moto or both block apps on the market?

For example, I can't locate SPB Shell 3D on the market. If I go to this app from dev site by direct link I don't see Install button. I have purchased this app some time back even. Does somebody knows it is true? If yes then it is ridiculous. How dare they are to prevent me from using what I have paid for.
I know a lot of apps wont show if they have not updated to 2.3.4. Most are ok to use if you have 2.3.3

They just done work with 234 yet. I know tetris doesnt work

EA Games' Tetris works. However, the Need for Speed Shift app that I purchased doesn't work on my phone. I noticed that there is another Need for Speed app in the market that costs 10 USD.

I know apps can be filtered by OS version. The company I work for has an app that is only compatible on phones 2.1 or newer. Market will not even display the app on sub 2.1 devices or on 3.0 since its a Tablet OS. I have read, in the cases of tethering apps, that cell carriers can filter apps and Verizon has done so. I do not know whether Motorola does. I imagine they can, but why they would, I am not sure. I know there are Device specific apps (Droidlight) that are from Motorola that are visible and downloadable on other devices, they just do not work.
I have stopped to understand things. The SPB Shell 3D release history says
Version 1.2.1 (Aug 04, 2011):
Stability improvements
Fix Gallery for Motorola Atrix (2.3.4)
Other fixes
So it is targeted for 2.3.4. On my son's Atrix 2.3.4 I can see this app in the market. But not on my Droid 3. Mystery.
They can filter by OS version and device, so it may be supported on the Atrix but not the D3.

Exactly. That's why you won't find Wireless Tether on the Market haahah

I found both of these apps on the android market ie play store

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hbmRkb2VzLmxhdW5jaGVyIl0.
I've downloaded XDA Premium from the Play Store.
Downloaded the free version of NOVA, the purchased version was also available to me.
on both PG's Rum Float Beta 2, and WC's ROMs.
at one point the xda app had been removed due to an issue with google checkout, but it came back fairly quick.
Yeah it's back now. Its all good
