From the your ebay link:
Installation: No tools needed! Simply snaps over your phone. The slim style of the cover fits great, and will not make your phone bulky.
Is that what you're asking if they just install over the case?
be careful with these since some of us have extended batteries making the device a little thickermaking these accessories useless, i learned the hard way when i was using my hermes
it's junk
when I got my tilt, I ordered one of those. It went on OK, but the first time I took it off, the little clips snapped, rendering the case useless. Then I found This http://www.tiltdepot.com/seidio-super-slim-rubberized-hard-case/4A123A3507.htm . It is a little expensive, but I've taken it off a few times and it still is in tact. Nice feel too.
OK thnx for all those Informations..but my question was if i can replace the orginal faceplate that now have my phone with this new faceplate...On ebay page writes that this faceplate snap over the original faceplate...but i want to replace not snap...So if someone knows plz tell me Ty..!
look for a housing plates, not faceplates
Hey everyone, been a lurker here for a while and made great use of the forums for about the last six months. Sadly, my tilt is experiencing the faded white screen associated with the main ribbon cable connecting the two halves of the phone together going bad. At this point, I'm not feeling motivated enough to actually replace the cable and get everything running, so I figured I'd see if anyone here were interested in it for parts, to repair, for experimentation or whatever. Phone functions perfectly except for the issue with the screen and cosmetically it is in great shape. I actually am still using it at the moment until I decide what to replace it with. If you're interested or have any questions, email me at [email protected]
Thanks
Mike
AT$T Tilt with bad LCD ribbon cable
I have two tilts with bad ribbon cables causing the white screen. Does anyone knwos where to buy replacement ribbon cables for the LCD screen?
Hey all.. I ahve a tilt with the same Problem... And you might want to contact use Planetneo ... He tells me he owns a phone shop, and is willing to not only supply the ribbion, but do the repair himself for either $60 or $70.. I would contact him directly though to see if he is willing to do that for you as well.. I have not shipped off my defective phone yet, as I am poor at the moment.. but it sounds like a good deal.. Of course with any transaction, do so at your own risk and such... Just thought I would offer a option...
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a keypad/keyboard for the X1 and was wondering where I can get one. I've searched online but only could find sellers on ebay. My T & Y buttons are cracked so I want to get a replacement. Any suggestions where I can find one other than on ebay?
Thanks!
buy new x1,
Wow...seriously? Buy a new X1? How about you give me yours and you buy a new X1? Sound good, cool. PM me and we can set it up.
me too, i broke the space key. other keys were lost the characters. Find on eBay, it's terrible expensive ($15 for a keypad)
i woulda thought $15 was actually quite cheap :/
also ebay is really the only place
there's also here but thats only the PCB and not the keys, and is horribly expensive, although if you ever want to replace your housing, get it from there, because practically all the ebay housing are fake, i found out the hard way >.<
Hi there,
the cover for the USB port of my HTC Dream /T-Mobile G1 became loose. The little plastic cable that holds it to the phone ripped but I still had it - I planned to glue the cover back to that plastic cable thing.
Unfortunately I lost that cover now. I was searching the web (including ebay) for replacement but even if I bought a complete housing they'd come without that little plastic cable holding the USB cover.
Does anybody know where to get replacement? By the way I would like to know where to get good (high quality) tools for opening the housing without breaking it.
I appreciate your help.
You would probably have to buy a broken phone and hope that the cover is still intact. While I managed to maintain that cover on mine, I did find it highly frustrating. Many people actually PREFERRED to rip it off. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to replace it, since that cover really is quite redundant. You won't hurt anything by not having it.
Yes, you're right somehow, it is redundant. It looks a little ugly, though. Maybe someone can still point a way to that cover
2 bricked G1's for sale on ebay for parts:

Thank's for the ebay link. I am already bidding on some broken phones on ebay.de. though. I though was hoping to find that cover as a sparepart somewhere.

Try topicovers.com if you are still having problems. I bought some and now is a big fan of them. Good luck!
Hi all,
My HD2 running HyperDroid v12 from Pongster is a dream phone. Everything is working excellent except recently I got the digitizer changed from a local shop here in LA and in the process of fixing the digitizer the idiot seems to have ruined my GPS related hardware (which obviously he is not owning up to). I tried all sorts of software remedies (including changing ROMS) but nothing seems to get a GPS lock.
My questions is -
Is there any way to buy and replace the GPS receiver in the phone?
Thanks
The guy might have accidentally removed the connection from the circuit board, I remember seeing threads from before of other's doing the same thing when fixing the digitizer.

They tell you what you need, and instead of the "flat plastic stick", a guitar pick should be fine.
- No need to remove speaker from housing.
- Ignore everything from 1:47, and look at 3:22 from the disassembly video, instead of removing the gps coaxial cable, check if it's actually connected properly, if not, just push it in.

I'll try and find those threads I remember reading, in which the OP and other members had the same problem after replacement of digitizer.

Hi Moon,
I followed the steps in the videos you provided and opened my HD2. The GPS coaxial cable seems to be fit in snug, which I guess is indicative that the GPS antenna itself may have gone bad somehow. Possible?
I did a little searching and found this link where I can buy an antenna from -
http://www.gsm4world.us/oem-htc-hd2-t8585-gps-antenna-board-flex-ribbon-cable-d-03752_579.html
That said, I am not too comfortable trying to replace it by myself. Any chance anybody knows a person/shop in the LA area who may have expertise in such jobs? The one I found in Glendale (CellularDR) is the reason this has happened so I'm not too keen on re-visiting them.
Thanks again for all the help!
Can't you get a separate external GPS receiver and bluetooth it?
It kinda beats the purpose of havnig a all in one device, plus you need to always watch 2 batteries and not just one . But, I must say it is the safe option and worth considering.

Hi KT did you manage to solve the issue? i´m having the same problem and i´m thinking if you managed to solve the problem replacing the gps antenna..

New back housing w/antennas
I had to replace the back housing on my phone as it broke (it looked like the plastic had deteriorated), and the new one comes with all 3 antenna attached, and a new battery cover for less than US 20.00. I have better reception now on all 3 radios, and the phone looks new again. If your have to take it apart anyway, why not replace the whole back? I got it from these people, eBay item 350487086071, but there are tons out there, and it was dead simple. Unscrewed the four screws, used the plastic piece to pop the snaps, and that was it.
YMMV, but for only 20, you can rule out the antennas if nothing else.
