[Q] Call Disconnect Tone - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When you go into Settings: Call Settings: All calls: Call status tones
Do you have the option for the call disconnect tone? The galaxy s user manual indicated that it should be there and yet I don't see it. I have had a few instances where I have been talking to myself after a dropped call and I'd rather not continue this behavior...

Nope, definitely not there for me. Would be nice to have it added somehow, or replace Call/Contacts app entirely with the stock AOSP one.

Got a link to this any information at all (developer as well as non-developer) on the stock AOSP one? I intensely dislike the touchwiz phone app.

I badly miss this feature. With all the mordern noice cancelation you frequently don't hear background noise, so when call ends unexpectedly you may not realize it. Very annoying. Please let me know if you've found an alternative solution for end of call tone

muting certain incoming calls

Hi!
Does anybody know an app that can be configured to mute only certain incoming calls? I'd like to mute my phone at night but also be able to hear sound notification when eg. my parents and girlfriend are calling or sending me text.
I haven't found anything like this...
Check out G-Profile and the more complicated but also more customizable MagiCall. They should be able to do what your looking for.
Thanks, MagiCall seems to be exactly what I wanted
EDIT
Call Firewall + SMS Blocker 1.4 also is nice

SMS/Voice call ringtone per contact customisation

Is there a way to have eg. to set different SMS notification ringtone for 1 contact?
I know I can do it with voice call, but can I with SMS?
No you cant set sms notification for 1 contact, dont ever heard that any phone can that. Maybe with some app?
Well back in some dark past Symbian v3 could.
I was able to set it individually for each contact using some app.. I believe it was "Rock.Your.Mobile.MessageTones.v1.00.S60v3.SymbianOS9.1"
I'm kinda surprised this functionality is not available for SGS/Android, especially seeing how advanced the system itself is. Maybe is it possible to develop such app? Or is it definately a no-go?
Yep.. there maybe is a app for android too, havent search for that because Im satisfied with just one tone for all sms, take a look in android market.
Just got myself Ringo. Will see how it goes ;]

[Q] Voicemail Notification Question

I hope this is ok to ask here.... Is there an app or feature that can make the phone light up or make a noise if I have a voice mail? I've looked and so far nada. I don't always just pick up my phone and am hoping I can find something to prompt me too.

There is also an app on the Market called Missed Call that I could never really get to work right. You can set it up to provide a notification for a missed call or SMS using sound and/or vibration at a preset frequency (every minute, etc.).
The one I have used is NoLED, also on the Market. It puts a lighted icon on your dark screen indicating that you have an SMS or a missed call. Not quite the same as a voicemail notification, but hey you can't have a voicemail unless you missed a call.
EDIT: NoLED now includes a voicemail notification icon. Not sure if i just missed it or if it's a new feature; the app just updated recently.

[Q] no phone ringer using Phoenix Rising 4.1

My husband updated my AT&T Galaxy S to Phoenix Rising 4.1. It has worked great for a week now that he is out of country my ringer for the telephone doesn't work. It notifies me for texts, email and voice mail but not when the phone rings. He has to text me to tell me he is going to call. I have gone through every setting that I can think of. I'm thinking I must be missing one???

Check these settings : SILENT MODE: (make sure its un-checked), VOLUME: (make sure incoming call volume is up) and PHONE RINGTONES: (make sure you have a ringtone selected and not set to silent) To get there press MENU >SETTINGS >SOUND. If you have any music stored on your phone you can use "Music Mod" (free app on android market) to set songs as ringtones. Its easy to overlook some of these settings sometimes. Some of the things that has vexed me the most have been right under my nose. I hope some of this helps, if not, you may have to re-flash your ROM. (piece of cake) Good luck.

Incoming call takes full screen preventing any activity -> looking for another app

Dear friends,
I would like the incoming call (while the phone is not in use) to appear as a popup or at least allow me to ignore it.
For now, if the note8 is not in use, the incoming call takes full screen and prevent any activity until I reject or answer it. This issue is extremely annoying as I just want to be able to ignore the call = put in background etc. and let's say unlock the phone with fingerprint and open home screen to check notifications etc.
I could not find any app which allows this option, any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Just press the home button. The phone app will be minimized while the phone is still ringing. You can then do other things on the phone.

My issue with pressing the Home button is that it also dismisses anything that I'm working on. I'm sometimes in the middle of a lovely YouTube video or movie when I get these annoying calls that I can always return at a later time. I want the thing I'm looking at presently to remain on-screen and continue to function as normal. Incoming calls disrupt Whatsapp voice notes I'm recording and Camera videos I'm recording with the native camera app.
