Today for some reason when i try to open up google talk it just auto closes, and for some reason when i try to download apps in the market they just say starting download and then nothing.
i have tried rebooting and a few other things with no luck, any ideas?
found some links that have the same problem, except none of them fix my problem either!!!

and yes i have 236mb space on internal, so space isnt the issue here... could the lag fix cause this?
I am having a similar problem. However, i naively deleted google talk thinking it was not important for other features of the phone and now i cannot download apps. I have not been able to reinstall

Does anyone know what com.google.process.gapps is? I think, im not quite sure, but it might have started coming up randomly after I moved the caches to my sd card. It doesnt do anything when I hit force close, everything im still doing stay the same, its just annoying having it pop up periodically. Does anyone know how I can fix this without having to wipe my phone or anything? Thanks
wipes suck..
I used astro to copy all my apps to my sd so all I have to do is install each one , one at a time which is tedious but better than the market and, I have now noticed if I hadn't done that Id have to buy all the apps since I bought a second G1 in white gave my black one to my wife after a wipe, then used the same sd to re install stuff to the albino one.
But it seems to me that this point other than pinpointing the problem to 1 or 2 apps then kill them and hope it fixes the problem, not alot is known about these lil' suckers so most of the time wipe is the only option, but all your contacts mail & stuff is sync'd from the goog servers so its not as bad as rebuilding most pda/smartphones.
soon im sure things will get easier and better
bhang
Yea I think im jus going to backup my stuff with mybackup, then wipe it, cuz its really annoying
Be careful with that. I encounter problem a while back, cant remember what I did to cause it, but when I rebooted I had to sign back in to my gmail account and couldn't get a data connection with the setup wizard. I had to reflash all the way back to rc29.
I jus wiped it and and used mybackup 2 restore everything, but I encountered a problem with Download Crutch, whenever I tried to install another app after I installed Download Crutch it would ask me to choose what app to use to install the other apps, Download Crutch or Package Installer, and it would freeze at [email protected] screen and say "Android has enountered an error" or smthin, and ask to wait or force close, but it wouldnt allow me to choose, it would just freeze. So I uninstalled it and successfully reinstalled my other apps, everything is fine now, im leaving Download Crutch uninstalled
Linda File Manager has a "download crutch" built in (lets you pick what to associate files with). Download crutch seems to be just that small part of linda file manager. best file manager, imo. Astro is juuust behind it

Would you say Discover is below Linda as well, cuz I use Discover
You should have just clear data of gmail application and error would have gone.
How do you "just clear the Google data"?
hcleared gmail data but the error still comes up...
hi, I've cleared the gmail apps data just as the post above suggested, but the error still comes up... now everytime I open gmail it'll force close immediately.... appreciate any help.. thanks

com.google.process.gapps
I narrowed the problem down to "google talk" on my EVO. I went into settings about 30 mins ago and i haven't had a pop up yet.
If you frequently use Gtalk, there are other messaging apps such as Palringo that syncs with gtalk. Hope this helps!
try disabling Gtalk...worked for me.
How did you disable Gtalk? I removed Gtalk and it started having this issue in gmail... the only way I fixed it was by putting Gtalk back.
wiped entire phone and reinstalled everything again... dunno why this happens but when it starts I cannot revert it.

I think I had similar problems with my Googles Apps, and a few other apps. What I did was installed Titanium backup. Backup up the apps that I was having problem. uninstalled the apps, and reinstall them from the Market. And that solved my problem.
Hi!
I was experiencing the same problem, and I couldn't install anything from Market. The problem is caused by the gtalk service. If you have it uninstalled, you can get it from a dropbox link. Here it goes: dlDOTdropboxDOTcom PERuPER15246936PERgtalkservice.apk
Of remove the spaces and the other stuff. Unfortunately the forum does not let meg paste external links since i'm a newbie here.
A guy named SAPS uploaded it. Say hallelujah It solves both problems.
Cheers
Could you please give me some more details about what i have to do with this :
dlDOTdropboxDOTcom PERuPER15246936PERgtalkservice.apk
I also have the same problem. I can't download anyting from the market. And my knowledge about computers is not too much.

You press menu from your home screen
click on setting
click on applications
click on manage applications
click on all
click on "app name"
click on clear data
Don't ask me which app, cause I am still looking for it.
On my galaxy tab from tmobile, I cleared the following: contacts, gmail.
It fixed it
But on my G2 from tmobile, i ****ed up the sync, and had to restore it.
The app that I think that cause the problem for me was the bump app.
I have the latest cyan but ever since I got the 4th prior update for cyan anything I try and download on the market just stays and say "starting download" and I even did fix permissions and also I clean the cache in the market! What do I do? I want to update my apps
Try a full wipe, and then starting clean, I know it's a pain, but that's what I always do when I get problems, most of the time it fixes it.
you can also go to apps and find market and uninstall updates, that worked for me
Open Google Talk. It will take a couple of seconds to sign in. Downloads will then work.
The market uses something in Google Talk to start the downloads or something... I don't ask questions, I just know it works.
google talk wont even open! wtf lol, and i want a wipe to be the last resort! anything but starting all over again AGAIN lol
erm.....wrong section?
sorry, but does anyone know how to fix this problem?
The problem is you need to be signed in to google talk to be able to download from the market. If it won't even open you're gonna need to reflash.
The same issue
I am experiencing the same issue (permanent "Starting download...") with Market.
Now I am signed in to GoogleTalk but it does not fix the issue.
Any ideas?
I have got: US T-mobile 1.5 CRC1.
have you tried going to settings>applications>manage applications>market then clicking "uninstall updates"?
somebody else mentioned it here, but nobody else ever gave any feedback. i had a similar issue to this and uninstalling the market updates fixed it. when you're on your market homepage, is there a "T-Mobile" button?
Ok, so I've had this rom running since it first came out. There's no problems with it, but these annoying market notifications won't go away. I've ignored it for a long time, about a couple months, haha. Is there a way of stopping them from popping up? Like, the market cache or something? The problem started when apps downloaded from the market didn't install. They pop up when I download from the market. And sometimes, at random.
And yes, it is raining that bad in Pennsylvania right now, haha.
Here's one more screenshot.
You could try going into settings and clearing market data and c if it works also I use a app called cache cleaner for root users u can get it from the market to clean the cache of a lot of apps on ur rom it has a lot of handy features IMO good luck
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
I tried that, it didn't work. :'(
same with stock rom
have the same problem with the stock rom. even if the app is deleted and the cache also, the old market notifications still show up when i download new apps from the market
only things i did to my phone are: root access and att bloatware uninstall
Bump. Anyone?
Hi everyone!
I have searched,,, and not found an answer..
I am trying to update Titanium Back and Beautiful Widgets but the downloading status bar on my Nexus One does not change.
My Nexus One is rooted and runs a Modaco Rom which I only updated last week..
I deleted Titanium Backup and thought I would re-boot and then download again, but when I access the Market, the two apps are still trying to download.
I try force close but nothing resolves the problem.
Any advice much appreciated!

I think the market (on Google's end) was having problems earlier. I decided to do a clean wipe of my phone last night and couldn't get the market to work at all, download unsuccessful, download paused, stuck at starting download. Found lots of threads on Google Support Forums, and a long one in the Galaxy S forum here on XDA. People were suggesting everything from clearing cache to removing and reinserting sim cards.
Bottom line, it seems to be working perfectly now, haven't had a failed download in the last couple hours. Don't know if Google is having market issues or not but it doesn't seem to be phone/rom dependent.
Thanks!
I still have the same problem.
I downloaded Titanium Back via a website and not the Market. It is the latest version, and I also paid, via the Market for the Pro licence.
But I still get the same problem with the Market continually trying to download both Titanium Backup and Beautiful Widgets.
edit - tried deleting data for the Market App, and on the third try, with re-boot, problem has resolved.
Unfortunately, icons in some of my GDE screens have disappeared.

I had some app updates today so started them going but after a couple it crashed and since then I haven't been able to open the Play Store. Even after clearing the dalvik-cache and rebooting, I get popups saying it's crashed as soon as it finishes booting and if I try to open it, so I've got no way of getting into it.
Anyone know how to fix this rather major problem?
I thought this had fixed itself for a minute, as I was able to open Play Store and start updating apps but it crashed again after doing three and gives the same error when trying to open it again.
It keeps doing it. Once a day I try it and it lets me update a couple of apps before crashing and after that I keep getting popups telling my it's crashed at random times, like when starting Boom Beach.
Please help me fix it if you can as it's making my Moto G unusable and I haven't got a clue what to do myself, as the only thing I did before it started was let Play Store update my apps.
Go to settings apps all and uninstall google play store updates. Reboot phone and then try play store again.

That has stopped it constantly crashing thanks. Unfortunately, it's now not displaying anything under Installed, where it would normally shows the apps needing updates. All still shows everything as far as I can tell. Ah, I seem to have fixed it by triggering an app to update under All and now Installed shows stuff. And now it's crashed again!
After re-opening it, it was still downloading and managed to do a few more updates, albeit stalling a few times, before crashing again and now I can't re-open it at all.
EDIT: I tried deleting the cache for Google Play, which didn't help and then the Data, which has got it working again. Installed is blank again and after triggering an app to update from All only shows that app under Installed but as long as it populates when there's updates available that's fine. However, now it's crashing again so it seems that doing that wasn't the answer.
It turned out to be Obb 2 SD causing the problem. Play Store would update a couple of apps but when it tried to update a game which I'd moved with Obb 2 SD and would crash and couldn't be re-started. Once I disabled Obb 2 SD it fixed the problem. I just need to work out another way to move my large game files, might try Link2SD as that apparently handles moving Obb files now.
