Help: Problems

Just recently my phone has started acting up. I can't get into my text messages from the home screen. I touch the screen, it reads that I touched the screen because the message pushes down then up but it won't go into the message
Also, When a phone call is coming in it won't show me who's calling. Whichever screen it was on before going into standby is the one that pops up and once I answer it shows who is calling.
Any ideas?

Issue with screen lock

Hi all,
I have a new Xperia z and I have encountered an issue which is annoying and I want to know if it can be fixed.
When I ring someone and the call diverts to their message bank the phone screen goes black and you cannot unlock the phone to end the call ( I might not want to leave a message) and I have to leave the phone until it disconects from the call before I can access the screen again.
Has this issue been seen by anyone else and can it be fixed?
Thx
Do a repair, most minor issues can be fixed.
See my sig for more details. I prefer sus.

[Q] Lockscreen notifications

My screen turns on every time a message arrives, how do I stop this?
Additionally, when I drag the lock screen up, the message text appears. How do I stop this to ensure privacy?

There is a setting to control if the text of the message is shown or not:
Settings->Moto->Display->More Privacy.
You can also turn off the notification display by unchecking "Moto Display" on the same screen.
I dont have this phone but my boyfriend does. His phone kept lighting up but wen i lookd at it, it didnt show anything on the screen or notification bar. And wen i turnd the screen off it stopped blinking. What could it possibly be?

screen stays Black after receiving a message

I know this might be a stupid question ?. But every time I receive a message or notification my Note 8 would make a sound but my screen stays Black. So I can't see what the notification is unless I unlock my phone. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for this stupid question
Following as I have the same question... (fairly new to Android)
The screen does not turn on for notifications. What you do have is the "Edge Lighting" option. Is that what you are refering to? Is it turned on? It only works for some apps also.
Just installed Glimpse Notifications to handle this, seems to work as required.

Calls not showing

I've noticed that my Note 9 will not sure an incoming call on the screen. If one comes in, it will show in the notification bar, but will not wake up screen and show on main screen. Same thing with text message notifications, does not wake screen or give a notification in pull down. I have to go to messages app to check those.
Anyone with similar issues? Anyone know where to look for any setting changes?

Nevermind. Figured it out. Somehow the Do Not Disturb was turned on to a "Until I turn it off" setting. I had it on a schedule to turn on at night and off in the morning so, it did not even cross my mind to check it until recently. So, if anyone has this, make sure to check that out.
