is there a way to remove that notification that pops up once the battery is full?
thanks
You mean the one that lights up the screen to more quickly drain the battery when you are trying to get the last few minutes out of your battery? Yeah, there's no way to turn that off.
Not yet but it has been brought up and I'm sure someone is working on it because of the way the phone shuts down certain features when the battery gets low (camera, etc).
the vibrant forums have something like this but i think it still turns on the screen but no sounds or messages...don't know if we,captivates, can use it
Yeah this is kind of annoying I leave my phone on the charger until I am ready to head out for the day. I guess I'll just plug it in when I see it's getting low instead. Hard habit to break

I let my phone battery die, and now I can't turn it on.
Usually I get a red light which goes when the battery is in if its charging.
Sometimes I get a red light even when the battery is in and its charging.
If I do a soft reset, sometimes I get a flashing red light on the sides but then nothing.
I managed to get it back briefly by doing all manner of hard resets and soft resets, and taking the battery out and putting it back in over and over again for about half an hour...
Then I left it charging for half an hour or so and carelessly allowed the battery to die again because I needed to take it with me somewhere - so the same thing has happened again.
I left it charging overnight but I'm not having any luck with it this morning... any help would be much appreciated.
yeah similar problem here. my phone warned me the battery was low... i ignored the warning and used it until it died completely. then it wouldn't turn on. it was late so i just plugged it into the wall charger that came with the phone. i dont think it charged cause in the morning it was still flat. if anything i think having it connected to the charger while not charging drained the last a few drops of juice out of it. had a number of confusing red lights coming up in different spots at different times.
i read on here some guy managed to charge it by getting 3 AA batteries and connecting them directly to the battery for a couple of minuets. i did this and managed to turn the phone on! hoooray!
it had 1% and died in less than a couple of minuets even though i had it on the charger. tried the 3 AA battery trick again but to no avail. i think my battery is dead.
i'm pretty certain i will need to get a new one. i hope you are able to get yours working without buying a new battery.
im really annoyed the Sony Erricson batteries work out to be close to $100 AU. i would prefer to get a legit one... but does anyone have any experience with unofficial batteries? are they any good?
Sorry you're in the same boat... Ericsson really should have made this phone so that it can run out of battery.
Interesting - tell me more about the 3 AA battery trick!
sounds like the cells in your battery isnt balancing hence its dying...think you'll need to buy another one / or at least try another one to make sure it is and not the phone...
Hmmm... I fiddled and pressed buttons and took out the charger and put it in, and then kept pressing the on button while I was doing something else...
Suddenly it made the click noise, but it's not back yet.
It seems to have crashed on the 'Sony Ericsson' start up screen with the green logo.
I don't know if it's charging or not, so I'm not sure whether to turn it off to try again (at the risk of losing the battery), or leave it to charge as it is before I turn it off and can't start it again....
At least it's progress
There are a couple vof threads with many solutions. Look for them, they are very useful.
Yeah I've found a few - Thanks... just nothing they mentioned has worked yet
I think the problem I have may be a slightly different now anyway...
Now, if I unplug it I can't turn it on, but if it's plugged into my computer cable I can get it (every time - after about 3 minutes) to go to the Sony Ericsson loading screen but no further (as if there is no hard reset file for it to load). I can do that by plugging it in, then doing a soft reset (which produces flashing lights on the side) then holding on until it clicks (usually trying that a few times). When it clicks the lights on the side flash and it looks like it charges for a second before the lights go off and its just hte loading screen. I left it for 5 minutes and it turned off completely. Nothing happens if it's plugged into the wall cable at all.
Have you any idea how I might be able be get something to load after the loading screen?... Or any thoughts as to whether you think it's likely to be charging when its on that screen?
Thanks
Hmm... It seems you have a software problem as well.
Here is what I would do: get another battery (fully charged) and try one of these hard reset methods:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437607
Something should work...
Sweet - I managed to get the hard reset screen to ask me the question about going back to factory defaults... after that the lights on the side are coming on to show its charging....
I guess there's a chance that when the battery is charged it'll have the juice to get past the loading screen... I hope anyway.
Wow this title gave me a heart attack almost
i thought someone is dead
plz i need help
hello good day plz i neesd to flash my htc p3600 and sony ericcson cybershot i need a software i can use to flash them plz help me any body that has an idea
just ordered a 1800mAh mugen power replacement battery. should be here in about a week my old SE k800i will be getting a bit of a work out in the mean time.
i think this break from unnecessary technology which I'm far too attached to will do me good. I'm far too materialistic.
hope you manage to get your battery going again!
I dont know if someone else has found a fix for this, but its annoying the crap out of me and really only seems to be an issue with the stock Nook OS build.
(I have it currently rooted, but not modified beyond that)
Anyways, whenever I put a microsd plug into the charging port, the thing turns on either from being powered off, or pulls it out of sleep mode and displays the screen.
This is draining my battery like crazy, and makes it takes 3x longer to charge up from a dead battery, or like right now, its not charging at all because the screen keeps coming on at full brightness to tell me it needs to charge more.
Any ideas or help anyone?
Thanks for anything,
K41N
This phone has generally been rock solid and I love it. Today the weirdest thing happened. Phone was working great and battery was at 30%. I launched camera to take a picture. I took a picture. Right after the low battery noise came and the popup saying the phone was shutting down due to battery came up. Phone shut down. I powered it back up and it worked fine. Battery continued to go down over time to 14% before I charged it.
Any idea why this happened? Never happened before but its super annoying because I was trying to take some pictures but since it powered off by the time it booted back up and was ready the picture opportunity was gone. I'm wondering if its a problem with the camera app or not. Anybody seen anything similar?
Not sure if it was the cause or not but my turbo did that once and it turned out it was the over heat protection. But the phone made a lot of warning heels really loud prior to the shutdown.
I've seen it loose sync with the actual battery charge, so it thinks it's %30, but really almost dead.
Here's how I've fixed it;
plug into the turbo charger it came with
press and hold power button till phone powers down
keep holding until you see a battery icon, let go,
it will give a quick vibrate, then the battery icon will show the true charge (may be a few seconds)..
press and hold again for a couple seconds and it will reboot, let it charge till %100
Seems like if you charge it off a weird voltage, it looses the calibration. I've seen people talk about wireless chargers do it, and I've personally seen usb3 ports do it to my phone.
good luck!

Oddly enough, yes. It happens when the tablet discharges too deeply, so try not to let it drop too far.
Plug the tablet in, hold down VOL DN + POWER for at least 10 seconds. It should start booting to the charging screen.
How long did you let it charge?
If the battery was completely depleted charging may take more time. Also, make sure the charger and cable are functional.
Left it charge for a while and about half way up the right hand side as you hold it it gets hot
Tried holding the buttons but nothing happens i will put it back on charge for a while
strange though it had 40% left when i finished using it last night
40% battery left.. was WiFi on? Any apps running?
I'd say, give it some time to recharge. Getting hot while charging is normal.
You still have warranty?
WiFi was on but as far as i know no apps were running
WiFi on. There you go! Bet that caused the drain.
You know, there are some syncing apps that run in the background draining the battery big time.
Suggestion, active Airplane Mode, and deactivate WiFi whenever you don't use it.
Moreover, there's the Mediaserver bug, which scans for media files nonstop.

Been on charge for a couple of hours but still no life
When you power it up pay attention to the navigation buttons.. do they light up?
If so, try to connect the s2 Tab to a computer via USB. Maybe the screen is the issue.
On the other hand, a dead battery can be replaced. Just have to open the back cover..
No the lights dont come on at all
How do you get the back cover off this thing?
Did you try the original charger?
Battery replacement vid,

Yes tried the original charger
Got the back off so will order a new battery its worth a try
Yes, replacing the battery is definitely worth a try.
Fingers crossed that it is just the battery. Batteries are quite inexpensive and not hard to replace.
Please keep us updated on your operation. And good luck.
Will do
Thanks for all your help
Put the new battery in and it fired up but.......
the battery only had about 5% so i put it on charge it comes up on the screen as charging and it gets warm but it doesnt actually charge
so now its dead again
Good news, your original battery is not dead. Bad news, it might be the USB charging port.
Perhaps it's time to consult a pro like Rossmann,

sorry reviving this old thread.. did you ever got it fixed?
I changed my phone's battery and other than the annoying stickers it went well, i wanted to test the battery and connected the phone, the led at the top turns on as if its charging but I'm not getting the charging screen, my concern is that i messed up the display cable or something what do you guys think.
I really don't want to get a new phone, all things considered I'm quite happy with this one.
Edit: Also when i try to turn on while connected the screen turns lighter as if its going to turn on but then just goes dark and I have to connect and reconnect the battery again for it to charge, is my phone dead or perhaps the problem is the new battery?
