because they want to force people to use Android Market
to prevent people from using Unauthorized APK files off the net
You can enable the download everything function in ASTRO file manager preferences..
Haven't tried yet

which browser do you recommend ?
i tried doplhin browser, but i dindt like the look.
also i couldnt have both browser at the same time.
when i opend the stock browser, the dolphin also opens automatically
Works with ASTRO's universal download setting for me.
I like the stock browser (Dolphin is rather.. busy), but other browsers happily coexist with it. When asked which browser to use to open links, make sure you check the box too remember your choice.
i like skyfire, opera mini
don't like dolphin
waiting for FireFox (Fennec) for Android
thanks guys
worked out with astro + stock browser
btw
can astro connect via wifi with the pc
in estrong i just hit the "loupe button" and i find my computer
how does it work with astro ?
i downloaded a smb modul in market, but when i enter my ip it dosnet work
You can, of course, have more than one file manager on your phone if you like estrong.
I just installed the ASTRO SMB module to test, and it works for me. Network > New, SMB. I used the IP address for the server and the share name for the share, blank domain, and my username and password. It didn't work if I used the computer name for the server, though.

I like Opera but it seems to not work on rapidshare and some other sites. The download countdown timers on these sites just stop in opera.

But Im on windows 7??
I have seen this
http://www.concentriclivers.com/?p=Android Passwords
Looks straight forward to me, what exactly are you having problems with?
Im on a windows Pc and it says
1.
Install sqlite3 (apt-get install sqlite3 on Ubuntu).
2.
Run:
`sqlite3 webview.db`
1. Finally execute the command:
`SELECT * FROM password;`
you know, if you have androidSDK tools installed (adb) you can do this on windows...
Code:
adb shell
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.browser/databases/webview.db
.table
select * from password;
That webview.db file doesn't exist for me :-(. I'm running Android 2.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S. Has it moved somewhere else now?
UPDATE: Just found it - it's been moved to /dbdata/databases/com.android.browser/webview.db
Sweet. Gonna star this. Thanks for the info!
For those who need it quickly and often, is an really good app on the android market called SQLite Editor. Just find out the file under Browser app (it will list all your apps, and app´s db files), choose password and all passwords will be listed.
I've found the passwords using the suggested methods here, however i simply can't find the passwords for my hotmail account :s
I've been searching for a couple of hours now on my phone and on the web for possibilities but just can't find it. Anybody knows where the hotmail login info is saved? (when using the standard internet browser to login to hotmail)
These passwords are stored in a secured way I think, no way to access them
Guys, where the hell is the "webview.db" located exactly?? Couldnt find it on my galaxi tab ii p3100.. i disprately need to retrieve my saved passowords ... please help!

Check /data/data/com.android.browser/databases
it needs root by the way
webview.db doesn't show my passwords
I want to view all my saved passwords in Opera Mini for Andorid.
I got the webview.db file in /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/databases/ .
However, after viewing it in SQLite database, it shows no passwords saved (see screenshot). But the username and passwords are there typed on every login pages when I use the browser.
How do I view the passwords?
apk found
i found an app that read the stored standard browser passwords from android device with root rights....
An android app for that...
I've made an Android app, which helps you to find stored browser Passwords. You can also edit them and delete single Passwords. Please give it a try play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tkstudio.browserpasswordrecovery
the path to webview.db

Data/data/com.android.drowser/datadatabases/webview.db
Use root explorer. To read webview.db file.
Hope this helps you all.??

I couldn't find webview.db either but opening the file ACEBrowser.db which was in the data/data/com.android.browser/databases had all the required information under 'password'.
Took me hours to realise this. Hope this helps someone else to do so quicker

He uploaded the apk so we can all install it. Seems like there may be an issue that it needs to be installed on a phone a verified first then moved to the tablet but here is the apk for anyone wanting to take a shot at getting this fixed. Again thanks Zaphod-Beeblebrox
If anyone wants to put in what rom they are using I will update this post so people will know which ones are working.
This works for me without taking it to a phone that is running the:
Vegan Ginger RC1
Calkulin's ROM
vegan gingerbread

CM7 on Nook Color

Couple Tips on using Google Docs on your Gtab:
Tip #1 comes from schettj | Uploading Documents on your Tablet to Google docs:
In ES File Explorer or your favorite file manager, navigate to the folder with the desired document in it.
Press and hold on the file, Select Send, select Docs
You'll get the Google docs file upload dialog, and the file will be sent "to the cloud!" where it will then be editable in google docs.

I can't find it either. Bummed. Going to try to sideload from my phone.
Edit: works great! Downloaded to my phone and copied it to my Gtab.

Sure. I don't mind
So I tried to install on my stock tablet. But I get a message that it can't find a Google account and it closes. How can I get it working
Tia
Seems this needs to be loaded on a phone ( tablet) that has a google login . Must check for credentials etc. Probably not work on a stock Gtab . Not sure about a custom Rom.
If you are on any Rom BUT the TnT based Roms (Stock, TnT Lite, Calk's) just go into settings, then accounts and add your google account.
If you are on any TnT based Rom, I think you will need away to enter an account (I don't think the TnT settings will allow this). Try loading/installing G-mail and or Google Talk.
Now that I think of it, if you have the Market running, your Tab should be registered to that account.
That APK gave me no problems with Vegan RC1

Yeah if you got the market fix in place it will force you to setup a gmail account so any rom that has market should work.
It works! Thanks!

Works fine on vegan gingerbread. Thanks for the upload.
Has anyone gotten this to actually upload any documents yet? The description says you can upload documents from your device and convert to Google Docs format, and I assumed somehow I'd just be able to open a .doc or .xls file from any other app and select Docs.
Doesn't seem to work that way, at least for me, and I can't figure out any other method...
Yeah under "Quick Hints" it says you select Docs when "sharing" a file from another app. So it's what I've been fighting with all night: Quickoffice comes up, and it seems to be the only app configured to handle .doc files so there's no default I can remove.

don't understand well, but if what you want to do is:
When your Android phone is not connected, you click to install an application from webmarket on your PC, the application will install later when the phone get a connection.
there's nothing particular to do, it's already works like that !
Pondera wrote a good post.
You can find evrey app on google... download .apk file, connect ur phone with pc, and then copy .apk from pc to phone.
Hi there,
I tried installing flash player on my RAZR I several times (first on ICS, now on Jelly Bean), but it does not want to work:
I just see a blue cube in the stock browser where a flash object should be.
I followed this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952878
I even tried to set permissions of directories/files to 777.
What I noticed is that when I try to install "install_flash_player_ics.apk" from another tutorial, the installation of the package fails with the error "Installation failed, Package is broken" (freely translated into English).
I also saw an empty folder: /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
It looks like the library should probably go in there?
What am I doing wrong?
I hope you can help me.
With kind regards,
Battlestr1k3

Thank you for the upload, I deleted the flashplayer-file in /data/dalvik-cache, rebooted, copied the files from the zip and rebooted again.
It just shows a gray screen in the browser when opening the flashplayer settings-app like before.
Why does it not work?

I have never set the flashplayer. I have used only setting in web browser to use flash player and then tried it on web pages. I'm sure that it works on Maxthon web browser and Dolphin browser.

you must give the necessary permissions to work with the apk and check this http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/65538-flash-player-andando-en-razr-i/
Thanks, it worked by setting the permissions, again.
