I'm starting to compile a list of Apps I can't for some reason find the market even though some users (not sure if Captivate users) are able to find these in the market. My list so far:
-Simply Lockscreen
-Furdiburb
-Seeds of Life
I did the market fix that required changing a value in a file from '3' to '1'.
I also have Market Enabler set to T-Mobile[us]
anyone else having trouble seeing these apps in the market or perhaps certain apps as well?

I used the SRE v1.2.1....
For the hell of it, please attempt the airplane-mode bypass: I don't have wifi here at work, so I can't say for sure.
When in range of a wifi, switch your phone to airplane mode, then, manually turn on the wifi. Enter in to market, and you *should* notice no ATT tab.
I've tried airplane mode with still no avail even though there is no att tab..I find it soo odd...which type of market fix does sre do?

Anyone know how to get rid of the custom ATT Market? I would like to replace it with the stock Android Market app so that I can see my list of downloads!
I had over 70 apps installed on my G1. It would be nice to see the list of apps I had purchased to re-download - instead of seeing that crappy ATT button at the top right!!!!
I installed the Market.apk and vending.apk from the Nexus! CM5 gapps.zip file. But, there must be something telling the Market app on this device to alter the menu!
Dam irritating!
Oh, just found that if I select the menu button there is a Download button to see that same screen as indicated above.
Would still be nice to leave out that extra step as I could CARE LESS WHAT THE CRAPPY ATT wants me to see!!!

Turn Airplane mode on, turn wifi on and connect to wifi. Now browse market sans AT&T.
I hear you.... But, there should be a way for us to delete some files or change some code so that we don't have to take the above steps.
Verizon does the same thing. Is this really such a big issue???
Guess I'm just spoiled! LOL! I like opening up the Market and having the option to see all of my purchased/installed apps with the touch of a button instead of having that other STUPID button up there that I'LL NEVER USE!
Just the modder in me! I pushed the stock Market and vending apk's from CM5 - but, it still opened up with the stupid ATT button.
Market Enabler does this function for you. Google search for it but you have to side load it and be rooted. Have to launch it & config for T-Mobile b4 each Appworld visit on your phone.
Works like a charm.

As soon as I got my phone today I rooted and removed all AT&T crap, now if we could just get past their censorship of the Android Market.
I have renamed all CSC files and references but no change at all.
Since it goes back to the stock Android Market with no SIM in it and WiFi only I figured it was APN settings triggering it so I removed the proxy but no go.
I setup a default APN with nothing in it and when I opened the market it showed me the Download tab.
So there is something referencing the apn before loading the market to tell it to add AT&T and block certain apps from showing up.
Anyone more experienced than I have a clue?
Have you enabled side-loading?? Have you installed AppBrain??
install the stock 2.1 market app...
I have enabled non-market apps but the problem is AT&T censors whet you see on Marketplace (easytether for example.)
I have tried installing the stock vending and marketupdater from Cyanogen 5 for the Nexus One but it still loads the AT&T information and shows no results for easytether.
I am fine with sideloading but at the same time I don't want to only see what AT&T deems acceptable, that defeats the principle of Android.
Here's how to bypass AT&T's censorship of the market. Turn on airplane mode, turn on wifi, then browse the market. Not so hard. Anyways, the only thing they seem to be censoring is tethering apps.
I know I can do it on WiFi but there has to be a way to do it over 3g.

Hi
I have Titanium backup to remove the AT&T Apps but because I don't want to screw up the system by removing an app thats needed for the system, can you please send me a list of all AT&T related applications that if removed won't affect the system?
I will be very thankful to you.

Holy crap. The biggest problem I've had with the device so far is that the Market ran slow as molasses. Now that I've changed it to T-Mobile, it's back to what it was on previous Android phones.
This is the longest I've been on an AT&T-branded ROM in almost 2 years and I forgot how much I hated AT&T's "helpful" changes...
I just tried out Market Enabler. +1 for that app. I switched to T-Mobile and now no more AT&T tab and can find all apps on the market. Did anyone else see a speed improvement in the market after switching?
I just rebooted the phone and it's back to AT&T, looks like it's a per-boot change but better than nothing.
market enabler
can sumone tell me how to install market enabler on the captivate please an thank u
So I sideloaded MarketEnabler and found an old friend on the market....PDANet lol. I still had the version installed on my laptop from way back when I had my Hero from Sprint. I'm not sure if the trial will run out or not since I do have the paid version on my laptop...but I am posting this tethered to my laptop now. Eat it AT&T!!!! Thanks for all the posts guys. I think our little phones are gonna turn out ok after all...its getting better everyday

My Cappy is rooted running Cognitive 4.1. I applied the SGS tool fix to Market and I have app that I outside the market (sideloaded, applanet, browser, etc. etc).
1) Market may update the app if they see it. What if they not? Read elsewhere that there is an app for that, but don't want to add another up to keep market working
2) Market will not update keys of sideloaded apps, is there a remedy for that?
3) I applied sgs fix to the market, how I know that I am seeing all the market now?
Thanks
use the program "MCleaner" from the market. it works for FREE apps only, there is NO WAY to add PAID apps to the market list if you sideloaded them.

I just installed Nookie Froyo to the eMMC. Works amazingly, and I've got Marketplace working.
However, a bunch of the apps that I'm searching for are missing from the marketplace. Stuff like Twitter and Dolphin HD. How can I fix this?
i have also noticed this running other versions. I switched to froyo for hopes of having youtube but that won't work. I can't even get marketplace to work... I tried installing it from a google link but got an error that i could only install ... tired and can't remember. Could you share how you got marketplace to work? i dont even have it as an option in my apps

I worked through this earlier tonight. If you have marketplace working, download market enabler - which lets you "spoof" a carrier. Follow the instructions above and after rebooting but before running market, run market enabler and select US TMobile as a profile. When you run marketplace, you will see the missing apps like google maps, weather channel, etc. This is discussed in more depth in the ROM thread.

Do you still see adobe flash in the market after this. Does flash still work in your browser? I did that to get dolphin browser and it worked but I lost flash. So I reverted back.
How do you enable youtube in Froyo?
Youtube won't work without the YouTube app since youtube is on flash 10.2 and were stuck with 10.1 for now.

Hmm, I've tried clearing the data and force stopping the framework and market, I've tried clearing the data and not force stopping (like earlier in this thread), after each reboot I run the market enabler, long press on Tmobile, it says it set it, I open up market and the apps are still missing.
Awesome...worked like a charm.

I have the same issue and tried the same things. Everything works great except the missing apps.
Any ideas?
I'm still running into this issue as well. I tried setting it to Tmobile after clearing the data as well as the cache and rebooting. Setting it to Verizon doesn't seem to be working either.
One option is to use titanium take the apps from your tb forder on your phone and copy them to the tb folder on your nooks sd there are three files for each app. The just restore the them

I'm not sure if this is the issue but I seem to remember that you don't want to clear the data for the market application - just the cache. And clear the data (and not the cache) for the framework.
This is discussed in the developer forum for this ROM - I'm not sure if everyone has this problem or even if this is a fix for everyone. I saw the symptoms described here and had good luck with following what was in post 492 here.

Hi there,
I just re-installed my favorite Rom and I remember that it asked me in the beginning which programs I want to install. It was specific to the ROM and had maybe 20 different major apps like GMail, Google Maps or Facebook on it. Some apps returned with an error message, that they couldnt be downloaded.
So after looking up GMaps or Facebook on the market, they show up but the Install Button does not so there is no way for me get it off the market. I checked my phone but no GMaps to be found, I tried installing it from other sources but can't seem to find it anywhere. Is my last resort to manually go through the .apk? Or has anyone had this problem before and knows what to do?
thanks
Make a backup of "MarketUpdater.apk" located in "/system/app/" using any root explorer app (or use adb). After making the backup, delete the application. Then go to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps > Market > "Uninstall updates" .. when you get the old market back you can install any app you want.
That's a known issue in the new market.
Hm how do I completely delete the android market from my phone? I managed to download the android market apk, uninstalled the updates but still same issue. I think I need to completely uninstall the app, just not sure how to do that

I had a similar issue with some apps in the new android market. I finally read in a post here on XDA that the market does not work with certain LCD densities. I had mine set to 200 and had to change it to 240 and that solved my inability to download google maps and other apps. So give that a shot and let me know what happens.

:/ sorry. but that's why the new market is not included in the newest version of hyperdroid cm7.
I solved the same problem with "Market enabler"
https://market.android.com/details?id=ch.racic.android.marketenabler&feature=more_from_developer
chose T-mobile
I have the same problem with the old market, manually updating to the new one makes no difference. Funnily, using typhoon I can set my density to any I like. Market enabler made no difference. What's really weird is that it only seems to affect some phones. I have a sneaking suspicion it's a tmous issue.
