My Cappy is rooted running Cognitive 4.1. I applied the SGS tool fix to Market and I have app that I outside the market (sideloaded, applanet, browser, etc. etc).
1) Market may update the app if they see it. What if they not? Read elsewhere that there is an app for that, but don't want to add another up to keep market working
2) Market will not update keys of sideloaded apps, is there a remedy for that?
3) I applied sgs fix to the market, how I know that I am seeing all the market now?
Thanks
use the program "MCleaner" from the market. it works for FREE apps only, there is NO WAY to add PAID apps to the market list if you sideloaded them.

And for good reason. I.e. pirating.
Ps. I'm not accusing anyone of anything.

I recently installed an app called Moon Phase, and promptly decided it was useless to me. So as usual I uninstalled it. Unfortunately it still appears in the Market as an installed app (even after rebooting). I would have tried to install and uninstall it again, but the buttons in the app's page in the Market are greyed out. How do I go about removing the app from my download list in the Market?

Easiest way is to find the apk online somewhere, install using astro or apps installer/whatever and then going to market downloads section then uninstalling the program again from there.
The hard way is forcing the market database to rebuild itself.

Only do this if it is a free app, do NOT pirate (or support piraters)

Or, a wipe.
Tried various market database fixes myself but eventually had to just find the .apk somewhere else, install with Astro then remove with Market.
The app in question is definitely a free app (this one). I will e-mail the developer to see if he can send me the APK. Thanks for the info guys!
I've performed the updates to my G Tablet as described in the superthread which are great! I've moved on to trying to install PnPlay but it's not available in what I can see in the Market. It looks like I could install it through AppBrain, but the AppBrain app is not available in what I can see in the market either. I can't find the .apk anywhere else.
Can someone please provide a suggestion for how I can install AppBrain?
Thanks!
Check out my thread on the full market fix in GTablet Android Development. I see AppBrain in my market now.

Have you done the market fix? It will show up in the market after that. Search for titanium in the market. If you don't see that either you need to do the market fix to fill it up.
Thanks for the tip. Followed instructions in this thread for Market fix and it worked like a champ.

A couple points.
1. Doing the market fix will give you a lot of apps but, depending on your ROM, you may still be missing some apps.
2. AppBrain helps you search whats on the market. However, if you cannot see a program in the market AppBrain isn't going to be able to install it.
Hey Swift. That's not necessarily true.
With AppBrain and Fast Web Installer enabled, I was able to download apps like VPlayer that didn't show up on my marketplace.

fast web refuses to install in tnt 2.2... worked in cm6b4 though. it insists that there's a device-specific compatibility error, which i've never seen before...
edit: refuses to *run* post install from the market is what i specifically mean.

I own a nexus one, and after upgrading to gingerbread, some applications which are installed such as dolphin browser and soundhound are installed but are not listed as installed on the market and thus I don't get update notifications for them.
I tried to clear data on the market app to re sync the installed apps but it had been disabled on gingerbread
Can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks in advance,
Mark Cachia

Do they at least appear on the market?
Yes, I even re-installed the apps, still not showing in my apps though.

You might be able to use Titanium Backup's "Market Doctor" function to re-establish the application links to the Market, though I believe that requires root.
Give it some times, they'll probably come back on it's own.
If not use Market Doctor like suggested, that might or might not solve it.
It has happened to me here and there and usually fix itself.
Another thing you can try is download an app, any app (something free that can be delete afterward) and see if that bring the missing apps back.
In continuation to the minor problems with my new IS, the first being Bluetooth transfers restarting the phone, (here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071021);
another issue am having is with respect to apps in the my apps section of market which allows updated.
Since this is a new phone, i had some apps transferred from other handsets and installed, rather than downloading them all over again.
None of the apps are showing in market to update, not a single one!
i have read about this in other posts, where clearing the cache seems to solve the problem, but it does not help in my case.
any idea why this could be happening & any possible solutions?
The only solution i think is a firmware update...
Depending on the apps, they may not be compatible with 2.2, what are they?

Regular apps like astro, angry birds, barcode scanner.
just a few off the top of my head.
the apps do work, and if there is an update available, the app prompts for the same when opened.
however, in the last tab of market, which displays all the installed apps & those which have an update, not even a single app is shown except google maps...
Are you rooted?

could you be so kind to dump your build.prop?
it sounds it got fked on some way...
@dfd9999
Nope, no root, no changes what so ever.
Stock IS
@Hawkysoft
errr... could you kindly explain how i should do that?
Titanium Back up can fix market links… but I believe you have to be rooted for it to work but I may be wrong, its worth a shot!

just uninstall the last app you got from the market.
if the method from lgm_dev is not working:
try to clear data/cache from the market. Settings->apps->manage->(tab all)-> market and clear the data there
Index should be rebuilded when it is started again.
IncS is my first Android phone and i have just got Root access. But after i flashed a new Rom and log on to Android Market with my Google account, there is only the apps i have paied for, and not all the free apps i have downloaded befor the flash.
Is it realy only the paied apps it rembers?
Hi. I heard there was an app that syncs nonmarket apps with the market because I have downloaded many nonmarket apps and want them to show up on my market

A lot of programs can LINK the apps you have to the market, but I have yet to find one that will sync/update the apps, except for a black market programs like applanet, which I think has been shut down for good. TiBu will attach the apps to the market, as will others, but you can't update unless you have actually purchased the app.

For free apps, Titanium Backup will do that. But for paid apps, you can't. The market keeps up with the apps that you have bought independently.
