[android] Caller ID issue - Network fails after change - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi guys,
I've tried several times to put this question in some build specific threads, but I never got any answer. But this issue is build-wide, every build has it and it makes Android quite not useful for me
The standard is set to: "Network default", but that means Hide CLID for Vodafone CZ. On my position, I can not afford to have my number hidden all the time.
Whenever I try to change that setting it automatically kills all the radio communication and the only way around is to delete data partition to get rid of that setting.
Is there anyone that would be willing to take a look at this issue after more than year having it as known issue?
That would be really nice, cause it is the last thing that holds me from using Android on daily basis...
Best regards...
A.S.J.

EDIT: I added su logcat -v time -b radio -f logcat_Radio.txt files:
#1 before CLID change
#2 after CLID change
perhaps this part can be interesting?

Hi
I have this problem there is no solution

This issue is perhaps RIL based and all the releases have that one. I am not really sure what is wrong, but I'd like to offer my help to anyone who knows core code to fix it. It may be releated to PIN issue, because both need to access SIM card.
If any of those great devs (Dzo, l1q1d or anyone else) would have a little time to take a look at this with me, it would be really very appreciated...

HI
This problem has been solved already???

Well it seems that core devs are now busy doing other fixes. No reply from them so far.
Sent from my Full Android on Kaiser using XDA App

I'm now very busy with my studies and i'm tryng to fix the hangs problems.
Maybe is network related. How can i reproduce this problem?

Easily.. just go to the call settings and change the option for Caller identification from network default to anything else and it immediately kills the radio.

Well, with Network Default my CLID is hidden, that makes it a bit difficult for me... After the change the Phone is no more usable (well as linux machine only, no calls, no net).

This issue is all across all the builds because it is IMHO RIL based and noone did any changes in those core files since first version

This is the part of the code incriminated.

Hi

How to enable VoIP on the HTC S730

It is very simple. Download and install the WM6VoIP.CAB
Then proceed as follows (for configuration)
START
SETTINGS
PHONE
MORE
INTERNET CALLING
Changing the Homescreen to default makes VoIP directly accessible from the Homescreen.
Now here comes the bad news:
I have not been able create a working _setup.xml file as it is described in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950
I want to use VoipBuster. Can anyone help?
do u have info if the cab can be used on hermes for example? TyTN
Yes should work. But I don't know about the _setup.xml configuration.
it's weird i don't know how to create the cab... cause it tutorials are saying that you need to put in "cabarc N WM6VoIP.CAB _setup.xml"
but then you'll get a .cab with 1 file the setup.xml :S
No that wasn't my problem. I was able to create the CAB (download carbarc)
But it just doesn't work. On my Homescreen it says: Voip Calling not available or something
cabarc N command overwrites the old .CAB and will be 1kb or something just with the setup.xml file?
can't find a sollution...

I have the opnion of "Internet Calling" and it always says "Service Blocked" or "No service"
I've also put that WM6VoipCab and the SipConfig tool but that SIPconfig tool does not work, it always giving away some error!

Thanks, just tried this on a S710. It worked. At first I got no Internet calling on the Home screen. Apparently you need the standard windows home screen. I also got the _setup.xml .cab working. Generated it, downloaded it and executed the CAB. see My setup.xml
Used the procedure of the VOIP/SIP thread
It's a bit of trying out: on/off, booting and on/off phone. But after a while it works. I used Voipbuster and tried a commercial SIP provider too. That was the same with the TyTN. Also the home screen says searching, but it is connected and you can call. Same as TyTN.
I have not tried the dial plan. So for voipbuster I have to dial 0031 70 123 4567. Also being called worked for my commercial provider. The 710 then has a local number.
Can you please send me your xml file configured for VoipBuster.
Thanks!!

dno if it's correct.... but it connects to Voipbuster, The only problem is that I cannot dial people :/ ..
I've got a connection with voipbuster.com cause I'm logging out on my PC
What do you mean you cant dial people? So you can only call people saved to your contacts?

My message contains the link!
The default port number for the SIP service is 5060 or I need to put it in manually in the URI??
uhm If I dial a number I get an error...
Voipbuster is working but i dno what's wrong
it works fine with voipbuster. but the conversation comes through the external speaker. how can i avoid this?
when i had a call on the second (GSM) line, the voip call came through the internal speakers. as soon as the other (GSM) call on the second line was ended, the VOIP conversation came through the loudspeaker again...
how can i get the voip conversation to come through the internal speaker?
any help?
thanks
I've a strange problem. I've configured the SIP client correctly and I can place a call... but it lasts only few seconds (about 15-20). Then my WiFi disconnects. I've changed energy savings on WiFi setting it to stay always on and to use full power. I've tried to use another wireless access point too, but it always disconnects.
Someone has the same issue??
[EDIT]
I've found a solution searching about RTCP protocol settings on MSDN. If you use WM6 SIP client behind a router with an internet VoIP provider there are 2 registry keys to edit:
HKLM\System\VoIP\SIP\EnablePort5060 = 0x1 (DWORD)
HKLM\Comm\RTC\NAT\EnableEarlyUDPPackets = 0x1 (DWORD)
That last key allowed my SIP calls to last more than 15 seconds

Network Service unavailable
Hello. I have read through a lot of threads and posts and I have seen some other people with the same problem but unfortunately no answer. I have a HTC S730 with WM6 Standard and managed to setup VoIPBuster, following the procedure at the beginning of this thread. On the today screen everything looks okay: VoIPBuster = selected. When I try to make a call, the screens says VoIPBuster - connecting alright and then ends with three beeps and a message saying "Network service unavailable - try again later". Strange enough things work with Fring, so I suppose my router is not the problem. Any idea anyone?
Thanks in advance
I have been able to change the dial plan on my HP iPaq 514. This might work for HTC WM6 Std devices also. See my posting on the Voip/SIP thread

I got this error a number of times. It was an error in the dial string in my case. Try to dial a fully internatonal number string like 00 31 20 123 4567.

Hello
First of all i would like to mention that i live in Saudi Arabia so dere is no cingular , Tmobile here .. We have Two Networks called STC and MOBILY
I have read all the posts in this thread. and it still doesnt solve the problem for me.
But it guided me towards the solution so i figured a way out myself.
First of all these all solutions are Carrier Dependent. but in a way or other its doing the same thing.
There are two small points of get a hold on the thing.
First What are all these cabs doing and how its solving problems for some guys and not all..
Second How it can solve your problem
Answer to the first question is ...
These Cabs are changing your registry (Specifically Two Keys)
1.User-Agent
2.Profile (or "X-WAP-Profile" Which was in my case so i renamed it to "Profile")
Lets try to get into a little detail so we can better understand whats happening here.Skip it if you want the solution only
What is happening is that your operator's MMSC is performing content adaptation before delivering the message to your device. What that means is that the MMSC is making changes to the content to "better" adapt it to the receiving device.
At least that is the theory behind it ... different devices have different capabilities ... different screen sizes ... different limits on the maximum image or message size that they can handle.
So in theory, the MMSC is performing a service, and scaling down the image so that it is usable when you receive it.
The reality, however, is that the content adaptation performed by most operator MMSCs is poor ... and ends up diminishing the user experience.
We all know that camera phone picture quality is relatively poor (but improving), but arbitrarily scaling pictures down to 160x120 makes the situation worse.
So ... in a situation like this, the only solution is to try to figure out how to bypass or alter the mobile operator MMSC content adaptation.
Usually, if an image is being scaled down to 160x120, this is what you'd call a "lowest common denominator" size ... that is to say, the smallest image size that is required to be supported by a device that supports MMS.
If the MMSC is scaling down images to the "lowest common denominator", then this usually means that the MMSC does not know what type of device is on the receiving end, so it is assuming that it is the most limited type of device.
In my case, with the receiving device is HTC TYTN 2,and this is really new device and HTC is not popular here. 90% of Saudi PPL Buy Nokia Phones so it does kind of make sense that the operator MMSC does not know what type of device is on the receiving end.
Solution
As in my case Nokia is the Most Common Choice of Saudi Ppl so i checked the SMS on my Friends Nokia N95 and it was working Perfect
So the solutions for my Problem was to change my Mobile`s User Agent and Profile to Nokia N95`s User Agent and Profile
Nokia N95:
User-Agent: NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
Profile: "http://nds1.nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN95-1r100.xml"
When i did that TADA... MMS Tiny Size Problem Solved in an instance
you can find UserAgent of nearly all the Mobile Phones on the internet e.g.
Motorola KRZR:
User-Agent:MOT-K1/08.22.07R MIB/BER2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 EGE/1.0
Profile: "http://motorola.handango.com/phoneconfig/k1/Profile/k1.rdf"
Blackberry 8800:
User-Agent: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100
Profile: http://www.blackberry.net/go/mobile/profiles/uaprof/8800/4.2.1.rdf
So go ahead ... change these values till you find the one that is supported by your Carrier...
This way .. no matter where you live or what Carrier you use.. You can solve this MMS Issue...
Hope This Helps

ok, so i read this post.......i have a Tilt, that i'm using with Centennial Wireless.....now my question is, as far as switching user agent and profile, do i just find the one for a phone that my carrier uses, and just switch the WHOLE user agent and profile .xml for that one? cuz my carrier DOES support the Nokia N95, so could i just copy THAT one thats posted within the quote and use it?
and also, where do i find my ORIGINAL useragent and profile .xml for my Tilt NOW, so that i can back it up just in case this does not work?
....im trying to solve the problem i have with tiny picture messages, and this seems to be the solution for me....

SOLVED Help request: No GPS in 1.6 ROMs

I've tried every possible idea i can think of to get GPS to work in the AOSP 1.6 and ghibs 1.6 build, and neither work. I've done full wipes for both, flashed both correctly, installed the bits correctly, and cannot get GPS to function. It turns on (well it checks) but nothing ever turns on, and it can never locate me.
Any suggestions or explanations why GPS would not be working?
EDIT:
Did a RUU, wiped, rerooted and flashed from stock. Seems to be working now.

Can you pull /etc/gps.conf and /system/etc/gps.conf and post the contents of each, the reason I ask is because I had an issue with this file on ghil 1.6 and had to replace that file to get it to work. More than likely that wont be the issue, but it doesn't hurt to check everything.

Yeah that is the same contents of what I had to put it to get mine to work. So I dont think that is it.
If you want to test here is the contents of the gps.conf that did not work for me, you could try and replace it and see if it works out, I know it worked for some people, worth a shot right?

Sure, ill give that a try, but just to be clear, i dont believe GPS is even turning on, its simply doing nothing when its "turned on" in the options. Ill update and see if that does anything.
Edit: Still nothing. No change whatsoever in the behavior, it just doesnt start GPS. There isnt even an icon for it on the taskbar. It's as if its never turned on, but it is checked.

Dont forget to reboot after the changes. Just to clarify, are you getting the flashing gps icon on the top bar when you go into google maps?
Edit: Ha you beat me!! The next thing I would suggest is change gps.conf back to the original contents, reboot. Then run turn off gps in the location settings, run "adb logcat" and turn the gps back on and post the results of what happens when you check the box so the dev can see that, hopefully it will tell them whats going on with it.

No Internet via 3G, further toubleshooting ideas?

Hi,
I have installed that latest Android OS on my X1 yesterday
(Friday, March 26), per the documentation in this forum.
Installed files:
fatsal-xperoid-20100221.7z
essential_apps.zip
wlan-modules_20100325.zip
zImage_kovsky_20100325.zip
The issue is: Connecting to the Internet via 3G does not work.
- I can do phonecalls via Android. I can also get phonecalls.
- I can browse the internet via Wireless.
- Browsing the internet via 3g does not work (wireless is turned off),
(browser error: no network connection, browser cannot load this
page because there is no internet connection)
- Started "Haret", with the 3G connection in WinMo working (on).
As 2nd test, started "Haret" with the 3G connection off in Winmo.
= no internet via 3g
- I also ran into the issue, getting stuck in the PIN screen.
Turning it off in WiMo fixed it
(this should be added to the installation FAQ).
- Noticed that there is no ringtone with inbound calls.
The only available ringtone in the default install is called "silent" ?
- double checked the APN settings from the phone in varous forums,
can't find issues.
These are from "T-Mobile Germany" and were setup by default.
APN profile is enabled:
Name: t-mobile D
apn: internet.t-mobile
proxy: <not set>

I tested various values (e.g. cleared the upper server value,
tried various authentication types (pap/chap or both)), didn't help.
- I also install the "APNdroid" application,
File: apndroid-2.0.2-r16-debug-key.apk
It claims that 3G/EDGE/GPRS is on.
Played with this tool by turning 3G off and on
(hoping to help resolve problem), didn't help.
- I didn't find a connection manager, like in WinMo, where you can centrally
disable and enable various connection types (I often turn off the data
connection in WinMo, to save e.g. battery). Didn't find a simelar option
as e.g. the tool "APNdroid" provides.
I'm running out of ideas to troubleshoot.
I'm happy to hear ideas how to fix this and get a working internet connection.

UPDATE:
I also tried a different simcard from the german phone provider SIMYO, a subsidary
of E-Plus and used the respective APN information:
e-plus/simyo
Name: Eplus Internet
APN: internet.eplus.de
Username: eplus
Passwort: eplus
MCC: 262
MNC: 03
APN type: default
Result: same issue, as discribed above with T-Mobile Germany.

just a thought it might be that APN settings above are only for mms.
and you need to create a first deault APN for Internet, following APN sites settings looks different, see below link
http://www.unlocks.co.uk/gprs_settings.php#germany
Tried these (and other APN settings): no sucess sofar.

I tried these (and other APN settings), they didn't work.
The default settings I published in my 1st posting are the same ones listed in the communications settings in WinMo 6.5.
I also tried "ifconfig" in the "terminal emulator", to see if the system maybe gets an IP. Insted I get an error "no inet socket available: permission denied".
The "route" command shows no routing entries, so there is really no lan connection (when I run the Wifi connection, then I see the default routing entry").
I think, the issue is (maybe) somewhere else.

You have to be root for running ifconfig. Type "su" to become root.
No idea about your problem. 3G-connection works fine for me out of the box, so it seems not to be a general android problem.
Debugging possabilities?
I wonder, if there is a way to debug this issue, or troubleshoot via the terminal program, if there are ways to turn on debugging (it's still not working)?
- I reformatted the SD card and reinstalled again per documentation
- apart from "t-mobile D", also tried my "Simyo Sim card" again with
it's APN settings from E-Plus
- I copied the data.img and rootfs.img to a WinPc, decompressed them
and checked if there are maybe logfiles
- In the terminal, su works and I can run e.g. ifconfig and ps commands.
The ifconfig command shows no lan card for the 3g card, there is also
no default route via the route command (a default route exists with the
wireless connection).
- The windows mobile system is at the latest version, per sony patch
software (just tried that). Also did a mem reset in WinMo (set phone back
to it's default settings) and then tried Android, didn't work.
I'm happy to hear any ideas, as this seems to be a android issue. Maybe I have a Xperia X1 phone with a hardware version which does not work with the current android drivers.
How to e.g. find out via the terminal if the prosess for the gprs/hsdpa, ... is running, if it is possible to do a connection debug like e.g. with ppp to resolve authentication issues.
/Justin
You can check the android logfile for errors. In terminal type
Code:
logcat -d -f /sdcard/logcat.txt
that will dump the android log to a file logcat.txt on your sdcard. In that look for "ppp" or "if-up" or post it.
Dump: Airplane mode on, then off, -> browse
Hi vdelf,
Thanks for the feedback.
I have a trace from startup, which would be too large to add here (53k).
I get similar results when I turn on airplane mode, then turn it off,
then browse a page. The error message I get is the same as at startup (errors are marked in red).
I couldn't find anything with "ppp" or "if-up" in either of the logs.

Note, that I had to put "spaces" in the external links, otherwise I could not post here.
I also tried at tool called "anycut" where one can add a shortcut and get extended options via executing it, e.g. one can "turn off" and "turn on" the mobile phone connection. It also shows more details, like the GSM service is "on line".

I`ve got the same problem, but on my first test it worked. Now I try all configurations from my first test, because the first test was succesful I think that the information you need were placed in the data.img. As I needed a new configuration I deleted the data.img, after this I couldn`t again use an data connection.
in my log the 3g-connection is established using if-up. That creates an ppp-interface, i can see that with ifconfig.
Looking at your log, it seems to me, that android is not even trying to connect. Maybe it is some hardware issue? Please take a look at the linux kernel log using
Code:
dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt
You could play around with the if-up command, too. This seems to be standard linux stuff, so ask google about that.
Update
I checked the kernel log and can only see the following entries related to ppp, modem or IF (also after turning airplane mode on and off and browsing the internet):
[ 20.993316] init: cannot open '/initlogo.rle'
[ 21.256164] init: cannot find '/setupmodem.sh', disabling 'setupmodem'
[...]
[ 1.881805] PPP generic driver version 2.4.2
[ 1.882385] PPP Deflate Compression module registered
[ 1.882598] PPP BSD Compression module registered
[...]
[ 2505.351531] mpd_ppp: img is of wrong format
[ 2505.557373] mpd_ppp: img is of wrong format
I noticed, there is a ip-up file in /etc/ppp .
When I run that file, then I get the error that dir /smodem does not exist.
It looks like this file would either use ppp0 or ppp1 as interface (if it would exist). It is strange that there are hardly any logs regarding 3G, as if the 3G hardware would not exist.
The ifconfig only shows "lo", "tiwlan0" and "usb0" interfaces.

Logs
Hi,
I created new logs (logcat and dmesg) and attached them to here (and split them, to fit the limitations).
What did I do before generating the logs:
- Reboot, start android
- Airplane mode on
- Airplane mode off
- start browser, and try 2 - 3 internet sites

Does not give me a clue
At some point pppd is called by android. It uses /dev/smd0 for AT-commands and /dev/smd1 for gprs-data. Please make sure that you have these two devices. Then try to run pppd manualy. That may give a hint on what is wrong.
It is also possible that pppd is never called. Does anybody have some info about when and where android calls pppd?
Same issue here, with running Android on X1 in the Netherlands with Vodafone. (verified APN settings with a working Androind phone)
I'm trying to work out what is happening: /dev/smd0 and /dev/smd1 are present, but I'm struggling to start pppd by hand, since I can't really find the correct syntax.. just call it with the params from /etc/ppp/smd1.... file ?
And I might be misstaken, but shouldn't there be a pppd connect script somewhere ? I can't find it anywhere.
I had the problem with non-workin 3g connection. However, as I were adding a new APN it just started working right after I typed in the IP-address for the mms-server. I don't now if it was my input that made the difference because last night a small symbol popped up right next to the signal bars, looked like som kind of update symbol and well now the 3g acess to the internet works.
I wish I could be more specific.
I do have the 3G icon after setting it up, but internet doesn't work. Is this normal?

That's exactly my issue.. I get G/3G symbol, but no data. fiddling with the APN did not solve the issue.
Tested android version from April 22, same issue (not working)
Hi,
I have tested the newer release of the android software from april 22 (link below),
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=666735
issue is unfortunatly still there.
/j
I get the same issue with you...
never had any issue with 3g in any android build, since now I'm using htc sense maybe this thread/post could be of help (download base package from first post) try "rootfs_use_if_pbs_booting.img" & report back if it works.
I installed the rootfs.img from that thread with the mention of vodafone in the name, overwrote my normal rootfs.img, and still no dice, and android seems to crash a lot with this rootfs.
thanks for the help though.

[DEV] First step of reserve engineering libcamera (Work in progress)

Hi all,
I'm working on reserve engineering libcamera for Tattoo, based on libcamera2 by NCommander. Thanks to nopy for many help.
HTC have changed a lot in their kernel, and left LOTS of useless or temporary codes not to be cleaned up. Right now, camera codes in the kernel are very clean and tidy and mainly ported from AOSP-donut kernel. Interfaces of /dev/msm_camera/control0, config0, and frame0 are successfully generated. As you know, HTC kernel implemented the /dev/msm_camera/msm_camera0 interface to communicate with requests from user space. I'm not sure why HTC did such a hack. The reason why I ported camera codes from AOSP-donut relies on the fact that most of camera working ROMs for other headsets like Dream or Sapphire did this, even if these ROMs are powered by 2.6.32 or even 2.6.34 kernels.
I've sticked to HTC camera driver in the kernel. Please check out my github.
Here is the explanation of the relationship between libcamera, libqcamera and the kernel, written by NCommander.
This is my first step to reserver engineering work on libcamera. Camera does NOT work yet.
The current logcat and klogtail have been attached here, Donut version as well. Thanks to MrGland, salva.tejero, and kicmi.
If anyone is interested in hacking for Tattoo, just let know. I'll invite you to cooperate with us.

I am by no means a c++ expert, but I started learning it last week. A uncaught exception needs catching so that the whole thread does not terminate, you can deal with them using catch(), unless it is a hardware exception
I think you two have the best chance of making a working froyo rom if you work together based on using your roms. I use fyodors 1.6 rom daily
I believe this too.
I prefer fyodor's rom though cause with his roms I never had problems on booting. Ikxdf' s roms from the other side don't boot on my device(except abusu 2.01 and capcake 1.01)
you two (ikxdf,cn.fyodor) are supermans make a team mix up your files and your skills, make a great panfyodorcake ROM and we, tattoo users will be so happy Good Luck

I've dived into the source files, and found there was a __NULL__ "config_defaults" array of structure in egl.cpp file. This array was used in eglChooseConfig function, which is heavily related with my issue. I'm not sure what the codes did since not familiar with C++ programming. I've googled a lot, but no luck.
I need C++ experts to read the opengl codes in Froyo system and find the reason why 'No configs match configSpec' error comes up. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. If it's a hardware exception, there must be some bugs in my customized kernel. However, to be honest, I really don't know how to debug the C++ codes.

I've looked much at the files and i have fund that the error you get is caused when an app gives some info about a configuration and EGL can't find a config that matches that information...
Does this error happen in the camera app??

The Exception has been thrown from JAVA because num_config[0] has not been populated by eglChooseConfig. This output parameter it's populated at the last line of eglChooseConfig.
I don't know the architecture of android and egl stuff, what i can reccomend to you is to use the LOGE macro to write in console the list of attibute (attrib_list parameter) and try to see in which point the function returns (using LOGE macro opportunely).
From what i can understand, this function tries to match the list of attributes passed as parameter(attrib_list) with global array of configurations (gConfigs), which contains 8 configurations (every configuration is an array of attributes).
Java makes 2 calls to eglChooseConfig, the first is to retrieve the number of configurations that matches the attribute list, if this number is >0 create an empty array and re-call eglChooseConfig to get the array itself populated, otherwise throws the exception you have showed in your log.

why?
because the devs maybe could stop developing, because they are satisfied of the working camera?
i don't think so. if they could get the camera working, there isn't a long way anymore to a 100% functional 2.1/2.2 ROM.
I hope this comes true, good luck to the devs!!!!!!

I commented out the setEGLConfigChooser() stmt. in Camera/src/*/ui/GLRootView.java source file to use the GLES default config for camera. Although the 'no config match...' exception didn't come up, camera didn't snapshot any images as if the sensor didn't open. Check out the attachment below.
If the setEGLConfigChooser stmt. was added, in eglChooseConfig function, both possibleMatch and num_config will be 0. I'm trying to find the low-level reason.
The setEGLConfigChooser() in Camera/src/*/ui/GLRootView.java source file is defined:
public void
setEGLConfigChooser (int redSize,
int greenSize, int blueSize, int alphaSize, int depthSize, int stencilSize).
All we want (i think) is the correct values for the parameters. Ok at page
http://brandnewreality.com/blog/android-egl-querying-your-gl-driver
there is a java program to query from a donut tattoo the configs....
Now we can correct the parameters at setEGLConfigChooser function.
I hope that this helps us...

Wont this method you are proposing hard coding the values?Shouldnt these be set by the user? There must be another class with the default values and which saves the user defined values.
Look at the code:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...0f823229da7569a51367f20c0c9d048d1cba;hb=froyo
175 private void initialize() {
176 mFlags |= FLAG_INITIALIZED;
177 setEGLConfigChooser(8, 8, 8, 8, 0, 4);
178 getHolder().setFormat(PixelFormat.TRANSLUCENT);
179 setZOrderOnTop(true);

Is it hard coded?

Well the values are hard coded.. but at the look of it I guess the hardware need these hard coded values to initialise. Good point seg.
