Is there any way with Launcher Pro or ADW to get the stock clock from 2.1 that has the location and date on it? The one I like is the one that turns from black to white for night and day and has the date in the middle and location on the bottom.
I know, it's silly, but I've gotten used to the clocks that come with the Slide and I want to use them on my Launchers.
Thanks!
I am interested in the stock clock as well, but only to get the stop watch and count down clock back (I know their are downloadable ones too). I thought I remember someone posting the apks for the stock clock a while back...
I mean, I really like LauncherPro and ADW but I've gotten SO used to that clock and if it's sitting in the stock ROM I don't get why I can't get to it via the launchers? I thought there would be a clear way to do this or that I'd at least have the same options of apps and widgets as I did on the Stock OS.
Are you using a custom ROM? If so, those ROMs ultimately control what comes on the phone.
No, I'm just using the stock ROM. I haven't done anything to my phone. I simply don't see the same set of widgets as on the stock OS.
I guess it's my lack of knowledge then as to what the add-on launchers do to your phone...
No, I don't think it's you, I just think something coded into their software impedes access to Stock Widgets on MyTouch Slides.
Not sure if what you guys are talking about is the fact that HTC sense widgets can only be used with the sense launcher. That would be why if you install a alternate launcher all of the sense widgets such as the clocks are not there. There are some sense knockoff clocks and widgets on the market that can be used with other launchers. It is kinda like you cant use live wallpapers with sense launcher but if you install a alternate you can.
I think you just solved my problem. That makes perfect sense.
No I just gotta find a knock off of that day-night one with the date embedded into it.
Thanks

I really like some of the Samsung widgets, but to not like the Touchwiz launcher. So, I installed Launcher Pro, which I vastly prefer. Unfortunately, now the Samsung widgets are not in the add widget menu.
Is there any trick I can do to get them back?
I'd also like to know this, the Facebook Stream widget was really useful, the stock one is awful!

Yeah that is the widget I want most as well.
It is the best I have seen for android so far that integrates both twitter and facebook. I tried out this one on the market called "Socialite", it is *OK*, but not as good as the Samsung one.
So i have to decide, do I want a decent integrated Facebook / Twitter widget, or do I want a decent launcher?
???
Does anybody have an answer to this? I myself like pretty much all the futures in TW - would mainly like to change the 4 icons on the bottom and maybe even have the ability to hide the notification bar.
Is there a way to incorporate TW samsung widgets into launcher pro for example?
Thanks
I suppose Samsung's widgets are tied to the Touchwiz Launcher and incompatible with other launchers
It's a pity because I really like the Accuweather Clock over the other available widgets. But LauncherPro is so much better than the Samsung Launcher, I can't go without a launcher that lets me hide apps from the app drawer due to the massive amount of crap it gets flooded with.
You can change the left 3 icons on the bottom (but not the Applications one).
Just go to the Applications screen and press Menu and choose Edit. Then, move the icons off and put another in place.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible. I wanted to do that but was told by different ppl it was impossible. Same goes for Launcher Pro widgets in Touchwizz (i prefere the LP ones vs the Samsung). They are tied to the launcher u use.
You could put Home Switcher on each of the home screens of TW and LP then just switch between them just like moving to a different page. Just an idea.
Thanks fro the ideas, sounds like it's a no-go for right now at least.....
One more thing, does launcher pro juice the battery as same as TW? And when I used launcher pro in the past, I really liked to use the option "hide notification bar", i think it gives it a cleaner look, but at the same time it won't notify me when i receive an email ( other than the sound), I did search this in the past with no luck, so is there a widget, icon, something that I can install that will show on the screen when I received email, when using LP?
Thanks
I use executive assistant but it is a paid app. Worth it I believe though.
Is there any way at all to get the HTC Clock app into Froyo? Not the widget, just the clock app. I want it because it's so much more full-featured than the default Android clock app.
It's seriously the only thing holding me back from going back to CM6. I loved everything else about Froyo.
Any advice? Or does this fall under the "Sense has not been ported over to Froyo" stance? I just want to know if the HTC Clock apk can just be tweaked to run on Froyo as well, since it's not a widget.
I know Regaw is trying to port sense to 2.2, but I use beautiful widgets and launcher pro plus. I would recommend buying these 2 apps and run CM6.

Indeed, I heard he is trying port as well, but I don't quite care about the Widgets. I still have my copy of Fancy Widget (which was/is free) and I bought a copy of LPP. The only thing is that it doesn't solve my issue, I really really like the clock app from sense. It had not only alarms, but a desk clock function, but a world clock, a stopwatch and even a countdown timer. I use all of those pretty frequently.
Actually, maybe, if you're using Froyo, you can rip the Clock apk from a sense rom and see if it runs in Froyo?
download iclock from amith gc found in market. The only thing it is missing is desk clock. Can't find one that isn't for HTC Sense

Well, I can't . The market is down, At any rate, I'm not looking for a widget, I have Fancy Widget, which looks exactly like the HTC Sense Clock Widget, and even let's me configure the tap zones (like saying, tap the clock and launch the clock application).
Problem is, I want that same clock app in Froyo, because then, I can finally leave Sense UI behind.
I too have been looking for the sense clock. I really liked the timer/stop watch it had. I used it all the time. I tried to find the .apk from other sense roms but everything I tried gave me errors and would not run. Some of the .apk's wouldn't install at all. I'm guessing they would have to be ported some how and thats way over my head.

I'm also very interested with this. I totally prefer the HTC Clock over the standard android clock. Timer and stopwatch is a must for me.
im pretty sure the SENSE clock has different framework then the stock android. i could be wrong but yes you would have to use an app to get it.
There's an app 'Stopwatch & Timer' that seems to work fine. I know not everyone wants separate apps but I don't even get cake, let alone the opportunity to eat it too.

HTC clock will not work on cm6, as it is built on the sense framework and cm6 is AOSP. About the best you'll get is fancy widget, though, beautiful widgets is a fine replacement. Sadly, nothing that I've found has all of the functionality of the sense clock. :-(

Sense Clock
If anyone figures this out I want it too. I've been scouring the web for hours since I rooted my phone trying to find the desk clock/world clock/ stop watch/timer/alarm clock...I can't believe no one else has come up with a way to put all of those together in one app...
Yes, yes, I know, Sense is not compatible yet with our MDPI devices (or something like that). I'm asking if its just the Sense Launcher/Widgets that are the issue or is it the apps (Clock app/Weather/Calender app) that are the issue?
I ask because the only thing stopping me from moving to Froyo is the lack of being able to use those apps. Especially the clock app, that's the most important to me. The HTC Sense Clock app beats the PANTS off of anything that the AOSP one is/can be themed to look like and is better in my experience than anything in the market. I use Fancy Widget since I had it backed up before the C&D and I use Launcher Plus Pro (even on the Zen Aria ROM that I currently use which comes with Sense built in). I posted something like this before, I think, but I want to be thorough about my question this time.
Again, to sum up, the Calender/Clock/Weather/Messaging/Friendstream widgets don't matter to me in the slightest. The applications behind those, now those I care about (not so much with Friendstream though).
Ideas?

They all operate on HTC's framework ... HTC completely reconfigures the framework to run Sense over Android. As a result, Sense will not run with the current Froyo's AOSP framework. However, if there is a port of a Sense 2.2 rom (say, from the Desire or Aria) down the road, you will find what you are looking for. But not until then, sadly.

Which applications are you wanting then ? I am curious about what your asking..that's all....I switched over to the RC1 build and have been going back and forth with deciding which look and feel I prefer. The stock sense phone application on my Hero, while nice, doesn't really impress me at all,not since I can modify my phone to use what programs I need now. This build allows me to have almost the same applications as any stock Froyo phone..note I said almost..The weather application that is loaded with this build is fantastic, and is 100x more responsive now than it ever was before.Same for the stock browser, and while it may not have all of the features say Dolphin has it doesn't have all the bloat neither so it runs faster. The stock flip clock to me is clumsy and...well..boring as hell and besides it takes up too much on my screen.
So..if you don't mind me asking..what applications are you really wanting from it that you can't live without that there isn't a good if not better alternative right now ? Like I said..I'm just curious..

Nothing sense (apps or widgets) will work with an AOSP rom, as the framework for the HTC apps aren't there.
Well, to be honest...I currently have ALL the same widgets working on my 2.2 Hero that I did when I was running 2.1 w/ Sense....

But see, I don't care about widgets. Launcher Pro Plus has all the widgets I need, and Fancy Widget suffices for my clock.
Anyways, thanks for the clarification everyone, I shoulda guessed that the apps were included in the locked framework, or someone would have ported it by now.
I just use the clock on the top rite of the notification bar when I need to cheak the weather there are many options out there for me to choose from.Im fine without sense. AOSP Is all I think ill ever need.

I.....don't care about the widgets (which I've said like 7 times now ) I care about the applications, specifically. The Sense clock app destroys the AOSP clock app in every single way possible. Things like that.

The clock application itself. It looks and functions perfectly. The AOSP Clock app is pretty paltry (and, forgive me, downright ugly), as is the calender app and the weather app. Oh, and I suppose Friendstream as well, seeing as that app works better for my purposes than even the official Facebook app.
I really liked the Sense Homescreen clock with the animated weather. I thought I would miss it after flashing CM6. I installed Beautiful Widgets recently and it does everything the Sense Homescreen clock did and more. It's more customizable with skins, too.

Right, which is why I said apps, not widgets.
Right now, I'm running CM 6 and I had launcher pro plus, loved the widgets but i found it was using up quite a bit of my battery. I'm trying to switch back to ADW launcher but I cant find anything close to the widgets that Launcher pro offered(i.e. bookmarks, messaging scroll widget). I've looked at beautiful widgets, pure messenger, and some other ones but can't quite find anything like it.
Is there a way to get sense widgets on cm6 other than launcherpro? Even the clock widget that has alarm+timer+stopwatch when you click it(i have weather widgets so it looks identical). And also the bookmarks4x4 and messaging scrollable widgets.
No you can not get sense widgets unless you are running a 1.5 ROM or Sense its self because the apps need to be ported along with the corresponding framework, which was done on some 1.5 ROM[look it up]. If you really want them search for a stable sense ROM idk if 32A has any but i know 32b does have a stable one by Xillius . Use Launcher Pro or Pro Plus and find a battery optimization apk as-well..
If you want sense... use a senseui rom. Simple as that.

Hey guys,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S yesterday and loving the transition from iPhone to Android.
After talking to some android experts on a IRC, i have been able to install Android Froyo 2.2. The latest version. I have installed Odin and Voodoo Lag Fix. I have used quadrant and compared results before installing odin etc. I am not a root user currently and don't know how to be one on 2.2.
Now I want to install custom themes and icons. But I have no clue what to do. Like no idea.
I want my SGS to eventually look this.

I am really into designing and will want to eventually create my own skins so I am taking baby steps, and want to first learn how to install other peoples themes that they have made etc.
Looking forward to all your answers.
Thanks
Looks to me like they're using launcher pro.
The first one would be the hardest to get because you'll have to change the icons one by one using an app found in the market called desktop visualizer. It allows you to place png files (pictures) as icons and assign a certain task to each one along with renaming them. They're are also using fancy widget for the clock or beautiful widgets. The status bar on top is most likely changed by a rom or theme.
The second one is very easy. All it is is launcher pro with it's dock icons (icons at the bottom) changed out. With wallpaper found in many wallpaper apps. A custom clock most likely found in the market and custom text clock and percentage widgets. Check out clockr if you want a text clock.
The third one again appear to be using launcher pro. Which by the way a home replacement app. Extended control app for the toggles. digital clock app found int the market. And a custom status bar.
I currently using have a G2 and I'm on cyanogenmod rom which allows altering aka customizing your status bar.
i don't proof read my post so forgive or my spelling and grammar.
You best bet to finding out the exact apps are going to the vibrant forums and looking for the huge homescreen picture thread and asking for help or asking with widgets they used. I'm sure if you'll find alot more answers there.
Edit: Better yet. Commonly used widgets.
