[Q] Background noise while and after playing sound - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have very annoying problem. Everytime any sound is played there is background noise which stops 2-3 secs after sound ended. This noise is pretty silent while i don't use headphones, but then i use them on ~20% volume and i'm in a silent room i can hear this noise. Any way to stop this? I'm already tried to use another ROM but nothing helps.

+1. Just started a week or so ago, flashed a new ROM, still have the problem. It sounds like the speaker driver is turning the speaker on and off, it's a relatively loud pop or click before and after any sound.
I suspect (hope) it's a driver or setting issue, but so far I haven't been able to find a fix.

[ISSUE] Static/Popping sound after notifications

I read many threads about this and I still didn't get a definitive answer concerning this "issue". Whenever a notifications plays on my phone, it is followed by a static noise and a popping sound at the end (as if speakers are turning off, which is what people suggested). The noise and pop are really low and only audible in quiet environments.
I know about amplifiers/speakers and how when they power down they pop a bit. But I just wanted to make sure once and for all that this is either a normal behaviour or a software glitch and NOT a faulty device.
Note that I am not talking about other issues such as crackling/popping/skipping sounds when playing music or watching videos.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
I have heard it on mine in quiet environments.. happens a few seconds after any sounds play then stop.
Its as you described, a quiet pop.
I try not to let it bother me but cant help but to wonder why its happening.

[Q] Audible "pop" from speaker when sound is muted

Hello All,
I have the official CM 10.1.3 flashed to my Nook HD. Been running great for a few weeks - no issues. I only noticed this last night because it was the first time I used it in a completely silent room with the device muted. When playing a game that would otherwise produce a sound when tapped, I'm hearing a "click" or "pop" from the speaker. It's low, but it's definitely there. As if the sound system is turning on. After a short time, if I don't tap anything that would've produced a sound, I hear it again, presumably when the sound system turns off. This repeats as I play.
It's certainly not a big deal, but I was wondering if this is normal. With the sound turned on, at the lowest setting, I don't hear the "pop", just the normal sound that should be there. I also don't hear the sound system turn off, but it could be that I haven't tested it that much, or didn't notice it.
Anyone else experience this behavior? Thanks!
I thought I heard a pop and the device did a reboot after putting in an sdcard. Possibly static related? This is my first winter with a tablet.
nook hd+, cm 10.2.

Bluetooth sound muted

when my phone connect to my headset (sena smh-10r, motorcycle communicator), sometimes it's ok and sometimes the sound is muted, and i have to manually raise the sound level. Annoying when i'm all geared up or i already leaved.
I would say it's 50-50 chances and i can't replicate the outcome.
I tried with smart actions, i created a rule for when i connect to this headset, that sound is at max, but that's for the sound of the device, not the BT sound.
Any ideas ?
I hoped 4.4 would solve my issue but it's still a couple months to go.

Weird clicking noise from speaker.

Does anyone notice a very light clicking noise from back speaker when on speaker phone right after hanging up on a call?
Just the NSA, disregard.
Lol,thought it might have something to do with radio/network stuff or like u said nsa..smh
I notice it makes the clicking noise anytime the back speaker gets used at all, there's a light hiss then click, guess kinda like an amp would sound when being turned off.
No one else here it?

Yes, I hear it. This has been audible on every phone i've had in recent memory, you probably just never listened for it before. Anytime sound is routed through the speaker you get the hissing, followed by the click as the amp shuts off 2 or 3 seconds later. Sometimes it's audible through headphones also, depending on the headphones.
Lol yeah only noticed, because when on call using speakerphone it clicks 2 or 3 times and it's just a tad louder then when turning off any other time, other wise probably would never heard it.
I have a N910F and noticed it this morning. I here it, it's like a frying noise, and if you get close enough you here it every time a sound is routed throughout the speaker on or off.
I'm on Lollipop 5.0.1 Baseband version N910FXXU1BOC3.
I don't think it's normal, Samsung is playing around with the audio system, you couldn't turn off sound completely until this ver of lollipop and still even when audio is completely off you can here the speaker fry when something is routed to it.

The Speakers Megathread

How is everyones speakers holding up? I dont always get a distortion at max volume but there are specific tones where I can hear them. The one specific example I can think of is the default alarm tone (I think its oxygen). Anyone else have a similar experience? Or is the phone supposed to be distortion free for all tones at max volume?
Thanks!
I sometimes get crackling/distortion from the top speaker but I noticed a new issue with mine last night.
I had my handset on silent and pulled down to my quick settings/tiles I switched WiFi on and held the device close to my ear, I could hear a few seconds of a 'buzzing clicking' noise then it stopped, I turned the WiFi off and the same thing again.
It happens on both the top and lower speaker and makes this noise whenever I turn on or off the wiFi or Mobile Data. It also doesn't matter if it's on silent or active notifications.
Is it just the radio being activated/turned off?
Does it happen to anyone else?
l also got my first random shutdown last night too.

The speaker issue is not actually a hardware issue It's actually a bug. Some people get panicked and apply for a replacement but there is a high chance to face the same issue on the replaced device too. But on some device it's a hardware issue which can be evident in ANY volume not in the specifically the HIGHEST volume
How can distortion be a software issue though?

The sound issue can easily be a software issue, it does not necessarily have to be distortion coming from the speaker. That word is being thrown around too easily. But the OS could be sending bad code to the speaker, which comes out sounding like distortion. With the vast amount of people claiming to have this, I am more inclined to think it is more of a software bug.
PS - How is this a "mega" thread'? Just because the OP wants it to sound like an 80's hair metal concert title?
