[Q] Strange rooting problem - Legend Android Development

Hi guys,
i followed modacos guide for routing my vodafone legend. Step1 worked fine. It installed a bunch of files and there was a progressbar on my legend screen.
After that, i startet step2 and again some files were pushed on my phone, but the recovery menu did not show up.
So, i decided to boot my phone again and the vodafone boot animation was gone, there was the htc boot animation instead. I also needed to reconfigurate my legend.
The softwareversion of my Legend isnt 2.1 update 1 anymore. It changed to 2.1.
After that i tryed to install ShootMe (a screenshot application which needs root to function) and it worked fine, i could make screenshots. It seems to me that i have gained root access.
But the problem is: i cant get into recovery mode to flash a custom rom. i tried the root progress from scratch, but this time step1 does not install anything.
Can anyone help me please? Can i do this with some adb commands?

Hi,
i solved this problem by myself. It was a driver problem from htc sync 3.xx. After i installed htc sync 2.0.40 all worked fine for me.

It's because htc sync 3.xx won't let you acces your recovery anymore, you can use htc sync 3.0 but before going into the recovery on your phone, you need to reboot thc PC and close htc sync 3.xx before connecting your phone.

Help! Can't get to root menu.

Hi. I've been using these forums for some time now, but this is my first post. Now I need some help.
I want to load a new rom onto my rooted Sprint Hero, but for some reason I can't get into the root menu by holding end and home on startup. Also, my phone won't get recognized by htc sync when i plug it in on my computer. I was going to try and unroot it, but it needs to be recognized by sync in order for that to work. Right now, I'm running MoDaCo 2.0 with the green espresso mod.
Any suggestions or instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank's to everyone for making this forum a great resource for me.
I just hold home and power on the phone.
I try that, but i only get the htc logo and nothing else. i have to remove the battery in order for it to start normally again.
reflash the recovery image.
There is an application called Quickboot that lets you reboot into recovery or bootloader, as well as normally.
Might want to give it a shot...
Tried quickboot, but it just hangs and force closes.
Problem solved. I used the instructions at theunlockr . com

[Q] HELP! HELP! Wifes phone will not boot and will not boot into recovery!

I do not care if the phone is unrooted I Just need it working again.
Phone was running Speed Team eclair v2.3.Danger SPL and Radio 2.22.23.02 and clockword mod recovery which I cannot boot into. I Had a major system problem when the included adw launcher went out of date.
1.G1 boots past g1 one screen to ANDROID LOGO screen and will stay on that screen all day.
2. I CANNOT boot into recovery Home and Power It only stays on the g1 screen when I attempt this.
3.Camera Power DOES work I have access to bootloader with 3 skateboarders.
4.I am in a location with a older computer I cannot run sdk adb!!
I have another rooted G1 in working order. The messed up one is my wifes phone and I need it working fast!
Sounds like clockwork recovery screwed yet another noob.
Try reflashing amon ra's recovery image using fast boot. I know for a fact there is a lot of info on this subject because a lot of noobs keep messing up their phones via this recovery image (clockworK) being flashed from within the rom.
super noob can someone give me a link for this. most things i see involve having adb running and my computer will not run the sdk
to use fastboot you need the sdk running, dont know why no one reads the full problem no offense, but to do fastboot get a pc that can run the sdk...

[Q] Did I brick my N1?

UPDATE: I managed to get past the loop by deleting all apk's(/system/app)
from the google apps zip! (so don't bother reading the rest unless you
find yourself having the same problems I had...
Hi, sorry to bother you all, but I can't seem to find a way out of this.
My N1 has the broken power button, but I'm in Europe, so I thought I would try to live with it by installing the cyanogenmod(with the trackball wake).
I rooted from 2.2.1 by a thread I found here(rageagainstthecage), then installed rom manager, flashed the recovery image, radio, and then the cyanogenmod 6.0. The phone booted fine, but without google apps, so I downloaded that zip and flashed it as well, and then the problems started. Now my phone hangs at the boot animation.
My bootloader is NOT unlocked, so I can't seem to flash using fastboot(get signature verify fail), and I can't unlock it cause my powerbutton does NOT work at all anymore, and I need it to verify "unlock bootloader"...
I still have root and adb shell access while cyanogenmod hangs, so maybe there is a way to copy raw files over?
Hope you have some tips for me!

[Q] HTC One can't get into HBoot

Hi XDA-developers
Last night I wanted to flash my HTC One with the custom Google Edt. ROM (first time having an android and first time trying to flash custom ROM and all that stuff). Everything worked fine flashing to the ROM, unlocking bootloader and all, and then wanted to install my backup I did using HTC Sync Manager. Fortunately HTC Sync Manager wouldn't recognize my phone so I could not get into the backup. I tried flashing back to stock ROM, provided by Mike1986). That kinda worked, I have the stock HTC One ROM, but when I turn it on, I constantly get messages saying android.process.acore has stopped and Talk has stopped. Earlier on it said some other android.processes has stopped worked, but it doesn't say that anymore. The point where I am blocked is whenever I turn on my phone it wants me to download "A Personalize update is available". I can't seem to minimize or get around it, and when I try to press OK nothing happens. The Fast Boot is enabled, so I don't know how to get back to HBoot since I need to disable it to use the Powerbutton + volume down method.
TL;DRj
Anyone know how to get to Hboot without disabling Fast Boot option in settings?
UPDATE
Figured it out. When stuck at the Personalize Update window, I held the home button down and another window opened with all apps showing. Went into settings and turned Fast Boot off. Now I just hope I can fix the problem.

[Q] Upload ROM in Fastboot Mode?

Hello. I'm very new to the whole process of rooting my device and installing roms, so please bear with my lack of knowledge.
I recently tried to install the Stock Google Play 4.4 ROM for my HTC One (m7-tmo).
Everything went smoothly, up until I actually tried to use the phone with the new rom installed.
After briefly allowing me to go through the setup menu (language settings), the device restarted itself back to the HTC boot screen after about 5 seconds. This cycle went on indefinitely.
I then found out that I needed to have S-Off installed before I installed the rom, but sadly it doesn't appear as if I can install that at this stage (but if anyone knows of a way, that would certainly help).
I proceeded to looked for a ROM that could work without S-Off, but now I'm stuck without a means of being able to install it.
I tried to install it during the brief period of time I have that the phone is in setup mode, but that is too short for the computer to recognize my device before it reboots again.
Does anyone know of a way I can transfer the file of the rom to my device in fastboot mode or directly transfer the file to my phone while in TWRP? Or is anyone aware of a possible solution that involves a completely different method? It's a rather sticky predicament, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
adb commands (such as adb push) usually work while you in recovery..
