Can't make nandroids

Can some one please help me my phone will create a nandroid but wen I go to restore it I get an error no matter wat I do
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Two things usually cause this, either the folder is renamed and has a space in the name, or you are low on battery and need to charge your phone (greater than 50% is best)
Also have a close to full SDCard will cause it.
damn forgot that one. lol Don't think about it, never an issue for me

well it restored this time but after 3 hours on the htc screen i pulled the battery
I have this same issue.
I just created a new backup (97% battery, over 1/2 of SD card mem free). Here's a list of the files that it created:
boot.img
misc.img
recovery.img
system.img
When I look at one of the 2 backups that will actually restore, it shows these files:
boot.img
cache.img
data.img
misc.img
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
system.img
Any idea why this is happening?
No one has any thoughts on this?
What recovery are you running?
I'm running 1.5.2
You might want to try and use a newer version of recovery. There is 1.6.2 and also darch has one that he OC'd.
I had this problem before when I copied my sdcard to my computer and reformatted my card to fat32 only. When I tried to restore a backup it was trying to write files to the sdcard but there was not an ext file system on it so it would abandon the process.

did you repartition your sd and it worked?
I flashed 1.6.2, and I still can't get a good backup.
The upside is I still have one that works, the downside is that it's from 6/1.
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on other things to try.

titanium backup files

My memory card is corrupt and I am trying to save the titanium backup files. I was able to use a program to recover my files but I can't see what folders they were in.
What is the extension or filename for a titanium backup file?
Thanks
/sdcard/TitaniumBackup is the directory.

[Q] rom toolbox/ rom manager

What phone do you pick so i can make a back up .. the lg revolution isnt on there?? Does the other lg phone on the list work the same??
Rom Manager doesn't work with the revo as far as I know
O ok ... well thanks for the fast reply lol good thing i didnt buy it i woulda been mad ha
So should i just use titanium back up?? Is that good?
I only use ROM Toolbox. I will defer to others who have used Titanium on that question.
I use the app manager in ROM Toolbox to backup apps.
Is the only way to make a complete system/rom backup in cwm ?? And if so were does it save so i can delete old ones and keep them fresh back ups
What exactly are you trying to do?
I want to make a backup that i can find thru a file manager so i can save it to my laptop for back up ... but i dont wana jus back up an app or two i need everything a complete system backup
Cwm will do that. My backups are saved to my sd card.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
I'll also confirm that CWM is best for a full backup image. I use Titanium Backup to backup my data and apps. It works great for that purpose.

I ment folder not file sorry ...
What folder are the back ups saved in . And are you able to rename them? So its not just the date and time?
I have not tried it, but you should be able to rename the folder with Root Explorer. They save in the following location:
/mnt/sdcard/ExternalSD/clockworkmod/backup

I have a folder "clockworkmod" on my sd that my backups are saved to.
So when I open the "external sd" through a file explorer, "clockworkmod" is a folder with my backups in there. From there I hookup to my pc and transfer what I want saved.

You put it on the root of your sd card and just use TWRP but you have to be on version 2.8.6.0 if you want to flash images which is what that is.

Well after you're done downloading that extract it first but you should have a program on the computer to extract with... I use winrar because it's easy and does everything... After you extract it you need to get it onto your SD card but make sure it's in the root of the SD and not inside of any folder and then go in TWRP and wipe system dalvic, cache and data and then go back and restore/install the stock rom you're downloading now.

You need to get that whole file on your sd card but first let's try to just drop the entire file you downloaded the ".rar" and wipe the system like I said and go into TWRP and click install and see if it installs if it doesn't come back and let me know.

I figured it wasn't gonna show the rar file so do this one.
The next thing you should try is this... Use your computer to navigate inside of your sd card and look for this and click TWRP and then click Backups then you should see a folder similar to this FA48XSR09828 (but not the same as mine) click into that one and then take the entire extracted folder this one "cricketstock2014-12-22" and copy it in there and yes it needs to be in this folder so you need to somehow get it in there..

After you get that entire folder into your TWRP backup folder go back to wipe and wipe the thing's I mentioned and then go back again and this time click restore and you should see the cricketstock2014-12-22 folder tap to install that.

Alright do this then... Put your SD card back in the phone, boot into TWRP and then click backup and then make sure it's NOT set to try backing up to your internal storage make sure it says SD or ext_sd and then backup the broken system you have because this will then create that backup folder you need on your SD card that you can't find since you never made a backup up before after it creates the folders go ahead and copy the cricket folder in there then go back to the main screen and tap restore and then you should see the folder you copied in there as long as TWRP is set to external storage if it says internal again then change it back.

just make a backup the normal way. Just go into TWRP and tap backup and go from there until it's done backing up the messed up system. You only need to do this so we can get the stock recovery into the backup folder that you can't find.
