1) with Menu -> Settinngs -> Security -> Factory Reset Phone
2) In Recovory Mode -> Factory Reset
2) Factory Reset with typing Code *2767*3855#
Very important for my knowing and understanding, because thanks forwarding on answer.

Does same thing but with dif methods
Its in recovery cos sometimes you can't boot.
It has code because some devices have debug apps installed.

Thanks on quick answer, but forget one question:
Lose I Rooted and Superuser factor on my device after factory reset, or stay it after that?
Thanks

For me it stayed using reset from recovery menu. No idea if that's a guaranteed thing though.

super user will always stay even if you factory reset

Thanks mates all of you on answers.
Best regards

[Q] Factory Reset with ClockWorkMod

Hi,
I have just picked up a new phone - I am new to Android - and the previous user was into his Android-mods.
I am trying to reset the phone to original factory settings.. or at least all the email accounts/data the previous owner had set up. I don't mind the extra tools so much as I will probably learn a lot more about them over time.
I've had a play and a bit of a search and found out that ClockWorkMod is installed, I just wondered if anyone could tell me how to do a clean reset of the phone with this application.. I have tried the factory reset option in the CWM menu (Holding Up and Home whilst powering on) but with no success. The option in Settings of the phone is unresponsive. I am guessing I have to reflash the phone somehow?
Sorry if there is an obvious answer - but I have done a search!
Thanks,
Dave.

[Q] Factory reset - freezing and failing?

I'm trying to do a factory reset on my 8GB Nexus 7. It was rooted and unlocked on stock 4.2.1 with stock bootloader/recovery. When I boot into recovery, hold power and tap volume up, I get the menu and pick factory data reset, then select Yes to start the wipe. It then starts to show Formatting /data... and does nothing. I've let it sit for an hour; no change. I've tried temporarily booting TWRP and wiping data that way...same thing - say's it's wiping, but left it for over an hour and it appears to make no progress.
Next Steps? I've tried doing the fastboot flash commands to restore stock but still run into the reason for the factory reset - I'm getting the "enter your password to decrypt" message but none of my passwords are working; apparently factory reset is only way to fix.
go to the main device settings, backup and reset, then press factory data reset.

Try using a tool to wipe your tablet.

Can't get into the device settings, hence the attempt to wipe data in recovery.

Have a tool suggestion? Whether I follow the fastboot guide to restoring to stock or use a tool, I still receive the "Enter password to decrypt storage" message; only way around that is to do a factory reset. I haven't seen any tools that allow me to do a factory reset.

Issue with factory resetting

So I upgraded to Lollipop not too long ago and did a factory reset, and ever since then everything "Samsung Account" related does not work. Trying to add a Samsung account does absolutely nothing. It's like the button just doesn't work! Because of this, I wanted to reset my device again. However, upon clicking the Reset button, a little Samsung Account screen pops up for a split second and disappears, rendering the factory reset button useless. Furthermore, I'd use Kies to factory reset, but when my Note is plugged into the computer (using the cable it came with), it likes to randomly disconnect and reconnect to the computer, so I can't factory reset that way. Does anyone have ANY ideas as to what I can do that doesn't involve voiding my warranty? Thanks!
(I am not rooted)

Your issue with not being able to do a factory reset may have a lot to do with the
"Reactivationg lock" option, you need to uncheck it before doing a factory data reset..
With the re-activation lock is checked I doubt you can do a factory data reset.
Once the phone has been reset, do the following:
Go to http://Sammobile.com and download the official stock N910T 5.0.1 Lollipop firmware for your phone.
Then use ODIN to flash the firmware, flashing the firmware will not void your warranty and your phone will
be in the exact same condition as when you purchased it.
Before you odin flash the firmware be sure to go into your phone's settings>security and make sure that the
"Reactivation lock" is not checked.
Also be sure you do a factory reset by going into settings>Backup and reset and do a "factory data reset"
before you ODIN flash the official firmware.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! However, I can't perform a factory reset by going to Settings>Backup and Reset, because the "factory data reset" button does absolutely nothing when I press it (besides launch something that says "Samsung Account" for literally a split second).

Have you UN-CHECKED the Reactivation lock before trying to do a factory data reset?
You need to do that first then reboot.. The reactivation lock is in settings>Security
Then do a factory data reset.
Good luck!

I just used the recovery to eventually reset because even with the reactivation lock unchecked it wasn't working. All is good now, thanks!

Just factory reset in recovery (twrp/phills'cwm) is not the same
same thing as doing the factory data reset in the phone itself.

How so? I thought it was the same, especially since I don't have a custom recovery. Everything seems to be working fine now too.

Regarding Factory Reset

I have performed factory data reset on my gionee m2 from the settings and then it rebooted to the page in which it shows formatting/data... and now it has been stuck on this screen for much time.
I tried to open it to bootloader but it doesn't open in it.
Also, the phone is non-rooted one with stock ROM.
Please help.
The phone is rooted and don't know how to reset it

Need help factory resetting my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2(tab has security pin that idk)

Hey everyone,
So I've searched far and wide for a solution but can't seem to find one, anyways my problem is, I bought a tablet(Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T819Y) off my friend(he didn't know the security pin but he sold it to me for $50 so I thought why not) so now I'm trying to factory reset it so I can use it.
I've let the battery drain overnight(couldn't turn it off before due to the needing the security pin) managed to get into recovery mode once it was off & I charged it a little so I could boot into recovery mode, once booted into recovery mode I continue to select wipe data/factory reset & get this error "MDM does not allow factory reset"
I've attempted to root the device with no success, every solution I've looked at requires me to access into the actual phone & go into settings to change USB debugging, OEM unlock etc. but obviously I can't do that because I can't get passed the security PIN so please if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.
Peace out ladies & gents.
