if it's a rc why should we continue to run the nightlies? when is this rom going final anyways?

This rom should never be considered final... until ginger bread comes out. The nightlies fix this and add various other features and fixes. There's always something to fix.
Just look for an rc2 as the next official version.

and if nightlies weren't offered I"m sure you'd ***** about that. why did they let you back? haha.
RC = release candidate (more or less a beta) so there will be some bugs. Like one of the first responders said its a known bug.
It will be fixed in time.

You might wanna flash a different kernel dead3nce #7'8'9'and 11 probably a few more I'm missing fixes the lock screen lag on most heros might work might not worth a try read the thred about it

Which ROM should I try between the "CyanogenMod 6.0.0 test7" ROM under "Koush Extras" and the latest "CM6 - 07262010 @ 03446"
Is one more stable? Does either have camera working yet?
no difference really. the koush ones are supposed to be more stable, but they are similar.

Why not CM7? It's based on 2.3.4 and you can overclock/undervolt too.

Juwes and GingerCriskelo works very fine.
not a direct response to your question but: I've tested a few jvp roms incl. Juwe's v5 release (and I honestly admire Juwe for his work) however insanity 10 (which is CM based) provides a much smoother user experience. give it a try....
I am waiting on Simply Honey 3.8. Tried a few of the others but so far i have been extremely pleased with SH. Been with it since v3.2. New one is gonna be released at 3.30pm today!

[ROM]Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 for the HTC Wildfire

Hi Wildfirers (if there is such a word )
As no one could download the update from the official website, Jakub.G seems to have downloaded his copy, so he has asked me to give the link that he has uploaded to mediafire himself at the following link as he cannot post in the dev section (10 posts min to post in dev sections). So if you are thinking of thanking me, it would be a better idea to thank him instead but if you want to thank me you're welcome to . The file is at the following address:
Here
or if it doesn't work, at the following address (copy and paste into your browser):
http://www.mediafire.com/?hlz02avnkc337ti
Hope it works
Regards,
usaff22
I had no problem downloading it??
Been on it for a few hours now, all seems fine so far.

I have read the changelog, but what is new and working for us? I heard something about a predictive contact search in the phone dialer and some features and fixes from Android 4 (ICS).

Yes it does, it will contain all the updates up to the 14th of March, apart from things Erwin may have added himself.

Would flashing over build 17 work, rather than a clean install?

Can you just flash this over 7.1.0.1 as a standard update.zip rather than full wipe?

Agreed with this, Is it worth flashing 7.2 RC1 if CM9 RC0 is pretty close to stable stage (apart from the obvious bugs with camera etc) ?

Depends if you want to use the camera and a fully supported rom or not, by fully supported I mean themes, mods etc etc
Ics is still a long way from that and might even get ditched for jelly bean when that gets released.......

Maybe he means he updated from 7.1 stable to 7.2 and it was OK?
Guys, I have a problem,
My phone can't install the update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-buzz-signed.zip. It's stuck on installing update in CWM recovery for over 2 hours now.
I wiped everything. I got CWM 2.5.0.7
----------------
Fixed it.
Had to format /system!
Wow, it's so smoothly. Everything works fine (updated from ErwinP's build 15 and twice rebooted). Thanks!
I'm on latest Erwin build and for update to this version do i need to wipe everityng? What is the best way? Thnks
Just used the torrent feature to download from cm. Must say 40 seconds to download an update is rather goooood. 1st impressions is very nice and responsive.

Trust me I've switched to ICS and jb but I keep coming back to 146. I just can't trade ui for broken elements and lag. 146 has no bugs that I can find and everything works as it should combined with simplicity, customization and the functionality of cm I can't stay away. Since the last time I switched I've been waiting for cm10 but it looks like we're not going to get it, so my incs will be locked into 146 until I purchase a new phone. I still can't find a reason to replace this device.

I'm not running CM or anything just the first time I heard this. Looks like it could be the kernels also since people have reported this happening on sense roms also. But for the op I like OMJs Rom, it's very customizable and smooth.

I am sure you could achieve the same results with just a kernel as it seems the processor is getting clocked at 1.7 ghz and then getting stuck, so any kernel that messes with over clocking this could happen. But this is also being reported by people running stock kernels with CM or AKOP.

Just tried 10.2 and swipe wasnt working, and my data speeds were extremely slow.
ROMs are just like pokeballs, you gotta flash 'em all man!
That's how you find the best ROM for you. Trial and error, like we've all done before.
Otherwise we get into a whole giant "who's ROM is better" debate, and nobody wants that.
Who knows? Maybe you learn enough and one day someone opens a thread asking "which ROM is best" and before I get a chance to close it someone boldly declares that YOURS is the best.
