Dear Freinds,
You all are doing a great job & keep the momentum going,
I have a query that is it possible to make 3G or 3.5G service to be working on HTC Touch Viva with the current hardware.
If yes then please let me know, how is it possible.
Thanks to all of my freinds.

It's not possible to emulate or get 3g into a non3g phone, 3g is not software is a technology and, it's need hardware + software support.

Please guide me what you want to say?
Download Advanced Configuration from here.
Do some settings over there and may be you can start using 3g on Opal...
Install .NET CF first.

Guys any luck on this? Were you finally able to run 3G?

well there is a form since motorola or at&t disable this not sure why, i found a easy form (not the most practical way) but it works im thinking in a widget to toggle in one click perhaps im not getting this LOL im failing
so here its the way to do it:
dial:
*#*#INFO#*#* AKA (*#*#4636#*#*)
then a window will appear, select the first option
Device information or phone information (well i suppose something like that since im watching in spanish and looks informacion del telefono)
scroll down and find:
prefered network and actualli its on GSM Auto (PRL)
you only need change to GSM Only and done
you are now under 2g ;D
hope this help
sorry if this was already covered

Also, you can see and edit your SMSC number from the same screen. So if you are using an Unlocked Atrix and having issues with your SMS, check with your provider's technical support to get the SMSC number and verify it's correct. Some phones don't always update that correctly from the SIM.

It also doesn't work. The setting will always revert back. So I guess it is in the right area if normal tweaks don't work and someone wants to know if a "Dev" found a way.

I can confirm that it doesn't work with my Atrix either.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Seems to be working for me.
Speed: 152 Down 105 up.
Rebooting device to see if the setting stays.
Yes it remains after reboot.
I don't really see the point however. The speed really sucks.

well i use when im traveling and need save battery or i have low 3g signal, this can be usefull it works for me
Yeah same with me, I notice I get much better battery life when not using 3G.
My provider uses other provider's network, which causes the "r" show all the time.
I could fix it with spn_conf when I was on Darky ROM, but the fake_home_on -part doesn't work with ICS. Just can change the name (with spn="String")
From my Galaxy (ICS RC4.2)
may be with some custom theme ??? !!!

Then you would be using roaming but not showing it.
Not being able to disable roaming keeps me away from putting ICS on my SGS...

u can change it under: settings -> more... -> "mobile radio networks"
Ah, yeah, I meant that if I disable roaming then I wouldn't have data connection, as I use MVNO...

Hi tiwag,
In Terminal Emulator I'm able to run the command manually successfully.
But I can't seem to find where te create/copy a script to use you roaming hack.
Thanx in advance.
I saw that MVNO hack, too -- thanks, Tiwag. But I never got to using it; I first ended up flashing KF1, trying out those Nexus radios that pwneman found, and somehow those don't show up with R. It's been working this way for me with AOKP since Milestone 4.
Interestingly, I just had a bootloop and no recovery mode, so had to go back to flashing stock and JVZ, then back up to AOKP b32. Before flashing UCKF1, I saw that the "R" was back.
FWIW, I'm also on Bob, the MVNO for Austria's A1, same as Tiwag. Only thing is, I wonder if this combo, Nexus radio and an MVNO, is causing me terrible battery drain; others using the same setup as I am, in the region and I think one other using a different Austrian provider, report having great battery life.
Hello,
I want to use national data roaming on stock Xperia T ROM, just like on CM ROMs. Unfortunately Sony doesn't provide this option, is there a way to make national data roaming work on normal ROM?
I know there's an app called Roaming Control that can do this stuff, but it's a separate app and it costs almost 5$, that's too much for one simple option
Regards, admad.

Hello @admad,
Where you able to solve this issue?
I hate not knowing the speed of my data connection as I can see when using CM roms.
Does anyone know how to remove the R and let us activate only national roaming?
Thanks

No luck, I dropped the issues few days later, when even Sony didn't bother to reply. I thought that maybe 4.3 will bring this feature but nope. I learned to live with that :<

Sincerely I ask the same question, or is it possible when out of range of bluetooth, activate the wifi automatically.
Thanks in advance

That is the default behaviour of the wifi.
Hi guys,
Im quite happy with the phone, but im not able to connect to wifi in my university which is definetly a problem caused by the phone as i dont have issues with other phones or my laptop.
BTW im not having problems connecting to my Wifi at home, it was just very slow with my old router but is fine now with the new one
I couldnt connect with official OOS 4.0.2 and im currently on FreedomOS 1.2 testing different kernels, currently running the Boeffla kernel.
Are there any fixes to this or ideas what might cause that issue.
Are you from Europe? (Do you use eduroam?)
Im studying in europe and we also have eduroam wlan but we usually use our own wlan in uni as the eduroam one is for fellow students
