Hi people, i got this problem with my Captivate. After transfering mkv files (HD video) to my Captivate they play really great, but if i turn off my phone after it boots up mkv files are not able to play anymore.
Why is that? Any solution?
By the way, Windows 7 x64 is not reconizing Mass Storage mode of my Captivate, y only transfer trough Media mode.
Hope you can help me.
1) what are: size of file, video/audio codecs contained, location
2) Did you load the drivers from Samsung?

For Win7 x64 I had the same problem. I had to plug the USB cable directly into a port connected to the south bridge on the rear of the computer. When connecting to other USB ports the phone was still being charged but not being recognized by Win7. My only guess is that there isn't enough power being distributed through auxiliary USB ports.

Hi everyone..
I am looking for software that will allow me to access my PC's USB webcam and stream images to the phone... If possible, also stream the audio of the room.
I would be connecting the phone via WiFi to either the same network or a diffrent network.. I want to use it as sort of a home security measure.. I have no problem if I have to install some software on my computer as well... I am running Windows 7 on my computer... Thanks in advance..

It looks like lack of drivers or maybe problem with USB cable.
make sure the cable is connected properly and your screen doesnt go off while your syncing or setting up cause that will terminate it.
thanks.is there any drivers to fix it?
1. What operating system are you using?
2. I note the first few times I plugged the phone into my pc (with Zune installed) it takes a while to fully launch and recognize.
So, plug the phone into your PC and wait a bit. Maybe it'll help.
i use win7 ultimate 64bit .all right i will be try that. thanks
I managed to connect via USB OTG a samsung dvd drive to my nexus 7 using nexus media importer app. you have to toggle the dvd drive to AV mode otherwise this wont work.
see demo on my youtube upload http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit?ns=1&show_mt=1&video_id=yvoyab75QgQ
this should work for all android devices if your device has usb otg support. so if the nexus 10 has usb otg support it should work for the nexus 10 as well!
see uploads too if interested here http://www.youtube.com/user/veryannoyingname/videos?flow=grid&view=0 and cast an eye on my play lists too http://www.youtube.com/user/veryannoyingname/videos?flow=grid&view=1
hope you like my uploads and play lists. if you like my uploads please share them too with your friends too.
have a nice day

Have you considered the problem of continuation of the battery if you use a USB DVD drive?
Have you managed to play an entire DVD that way? I can't even get a movie on a memory stick to play more than 15 minutes with this setup.

AW: DVD drive connects to nexus 7 via USB OTG
Why is it exactly that seemingly it is not possible to integrate a CD/DVD driver into Android??
The XDA people can do SO much, why can't anyone port an ISO-9660 filesystem driver for USB from Linux???
I have an old external dvd writer (CompUsa) lying in storage that I hooked up to my Nexus 7 and the app Nexus Media importer recognizes it too.
But that is where it all stops and nothing else going forward since holding down the eject button for a while does nothing to this generic dvd-writer to make the necessary FAT32 transition.
File manager is also able to see it in dev/usb but since there is no way to convert the file systems am unsure as to how to proceed without a driver for android.
Knew it would not work and thought I will just put it up here if anyone can think of any work around.
Only a drive that can do av mode can work. If your drive works when connected to your tv via usb then it should work with your nexus too using the app.
I have managed to go one step further where NMI asks for which partition I wish to use. However the single named partition does not do anything when clicked. The name however offers some insight. It says 7.7 GB - CD/DVD drives only supported in AV Connect mode. However I do not know how to switch the Reader/NMI (I do not know which must have its mode changed.) To this AV connect mode. I am using a VicTsing DVD Reader/Writer.

I actually have the same problem where my O2X, whether running stock, CM7, or CM10, is not recognized by one of my computers and it drives me crazy.
My desktop PC, work laptop, and even the infotainment system in my car (Ford Sync) all recognize the USB mass storage mode on my phone, in both CM7 and CM10. The desktop and work laptop also recognize the MTP mode on CM10.
However, my personal travel laptop absolutely refuses to recognize my O2X on any OS - the drivers refuse to install and all I can is charge the phone from the USB port. I've tried all three ports and they don't work, though they work with other phones using the same USB cable I use on my O2X. Really weird.
My solution for the time being - if I'm using my personal laptop and I need to transfer data, I use Bluetooth (if I don't have wifi available), or I dropbox/email it. Crude and inconvenient but no choice.
I've tried downloading all kinds of programs like PDAnet and so on, but it seems like the O2X just doesn't want to cooperate with my personal laptop.
It's not just my personal laptop that has a problem - the infotainment system in my dad's car also has trouble recognizing the USB mode on my phone and 75% of the time it shwos an error trying to read it.
I'm fairly certain it's LG's fault though - given how USB charging tends to BSOD it. My personal laptop has no trouble auto-installing drivers for pretty much everything else that's intended to plug-and-play into windows.
edit: I just realized, you have no problems with 4.0 but you have problems with 2.2/2.3? That's weird. Perhaps you might want to install adb drivers via the android SDK?
no one can help us!
Some videos and files on my LG G Flex cannot be copied from my phone to my work PC or back to my home PC. I was using my phone as a USB storage device to move some certification videos to my work PC, but they fail transfer every time. Videos that are captured with my phone's camera don't even transfer fully. Everything fails to transfer over 100Mb.
Is there any way to add another transfer method through USB other than the crap that is known as MTP? Is there any way to have the LG G Flex be seen as a standard USB device? Windows does not implement MTP correctly from what I've heard and I believe could be causing the issue.
I use a portable flash drive with a otg cable works flawless
