Good Day.
I would like to make a list of different battery sellers/brands and your experience with them, then compile the information into the OP for easy viewing. I am doing this because I have had 2 bad experiences buying batteries on ebay from high rated sellers. It can also be difficult to determine what htc models have interchangeable batteries.
Known HTC Models with interchangeable batteries
CDMA TP2 ERIS OZONE HERO EVO IMAGIO SNAP DESIRE INCREDIBLE(DUH)
HTC Models non compatible batteries
N1 G1 FUZE OTHERS
Props(and ALL CREDIT) To Doug Simmons for his work testing batteries and making the results public domain. We need more people like you!
Please check out http://batteryboss.org
Mr. Simmons's VERY scientific testing of multiple batteries and brands show consistently overstated mah on many brands of batteries. Please see second post or above website.
XDA Member Jermaine151 has a thread about his experience with the OEM 2150 getting 3 days of runtime I think has great photo's and info.
XDA Member DrPheta has some good information for identifying FAKE OEM BATTERIES.

I have had nothing but trouble with no name batteries, and I have not seen one capacity test to support getting more than 1500mah from this form factor. even the 1500 makes it more difficult to close back cover. I'd be curious to know what the battery weighs.
I bought HTC 1500 from amazon marketplace for $9..Amazon has me fully covered. Could not be happier.

I Got the seido 1750mah, very high quality. was a little afraid to go with a no name company.
I got the Seidio 3500, even if it's only 80-90% of the advertised, it's still the highest actual mAh on the market and I can get a full day with Wi-Fi tethering, GPS, and downloading and flashing the latest CyanogenMod nightly over Verizon 3G (DROID Incredible).

+1. I have the Seidio 3500mAh and it is a hoss! I have no problem getting through an entire day with heavy use. It doesn't detract from the looks of my Incredible either. In fact, the included battery door makes it fit in my hand better and protects the camera lens.
I get better performance out of my HTC 1500 then my Seidio 1750. The HTC is thicker and heavier then the Seidio. I paid $17.99 shipped for the HTC and something like $40.00 for the Seidio.
I just purchased an HTC 2150 which included an OEM backing for $39.99. Couldn't be happier with it.
I think with what I've learned, going OEM is the only way.
I agree. The seidio 1750 is crap

I'm really liking the HTC 1500 battery (same one that comes with the evo). Right now I'm sitting at 15% remaining after 13 hours 20 minutes of uptime and 4 hours 40 minutes of awake time. Thats without bump charging it either. Score one for the oem.

I use the HTC 2150 and I love it. One charge lasts all day with HEAVY use.

Hi guys
While I was looking for a way to get some more juice for my Leo I stumbled across these on eBay:
NEW GOLD XXXXmAH BUSINESS BATTERY FOR HTC HD2 LEO T8585
They range from £29.99: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GOLD-2430...073?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4aa8015b31 to £99.99 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GOLD-1930...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries&hash=item1c18aede90 per piece.
Has anybody tried them? What attracted me was the fact, that they seem to be the size of normal battery and do not add any bulk to device - the only thing that stops me from buying other extended batteries widely available on market so far.
Sounds like someone is trying to sell a cheap battery at a premium price.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
There is absolutely no way I would put a Chinese/Japanese/MuckyKnees or any other type of Asian battery in my HD2.
Stick to normal or extended batteries or use less battery hungry roms or tweak them.
Do you really think the biggest phone manufacturers in the world such as Nokia, Samsung, HTC, SE etc will not try to source the best batteries which have the highest capacity for a given size?
What makes you think these cheapo 3rd parties can somehow magically source or manufacture better batteries with limited resources?

Exactly!
It baffles me why some idiots even attempt to buy 32GB (FAKE) cards for ridiculous prices like £10 lol. I was one of these idiots years ago when trying to find a 32GB card for my HTC Uni, when I look back I think wtf was you thinking?
The gold battery business is another attempt to cash in on the hd2 battery hype...
They know that the battery of the HD2 is a piece of cr#p and in our endless journey to get a higher capacity battery we get fooled every time...
I respect XDA members for trying all these different kinds of batteries and posting their findings on this forum
yeah its better to not even waste ur time with this fake battery
Really not worth wrecking your phone for, im wary of buying anything like this of Ebay
and the feedback indicates its about the same as stock batteries
Fake one confirmed .continuous use last 3h like stock battery.
Hi everyone,
I found a cheap 1500 mAh battery (with charging cradle) for 8.30$ on Dealextreme, shipping included.
It's most certainly not 1500 mAh, but at that price I want to give it a try, as an emergency battery.
It's only my second post and I can't add links yet, so go to Dealextreme.com and type SKU 57063 in the search bar.
(edit: maybe this way ) dealextreme.com/p/usb-ac-battery-charging-cradle-3-7v-1500mah-battery-for-samsung-i9020-google-nexus-s-100-240v-57063
Question is: will it fit in an i9023 Nexus S? On the site it's written for i9020, and I've heard there is a difference in thickness between the two models, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the battery.
I've asked on the site but no answer for now.
Thanks for reading, sorry for syntax faults if any =)
Edit: i found this post: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940263 more or less same battery manufacturer (yeah, China) and review seems pretty engaging

First of all, the thickness of the i9023 has nothing to do with the battery. It has SCLCD, with backlight. That's what's making it thicker. So they've got the same battery.
Second, I wouldn't recommend any other battery than an OEM one. I have ordered this one a few weeks ago, so it should arrive on my doorstep in a couple of days. If you are patient, I'll make some tests and come back here with the results.

Awesome, thanks guys.
At those prices, it's definitely worth just keeping a spare battery around

Review of this battery
I have been using this since 3-4 months as a spare battery and I can tell you that this one works well. Find my review here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026003
I always think the DX offers the cheapest items among the large online stores, and I find there are another ones with much more items sold at much better prices , just, you can search from Pickegg.com, you will find a lot.

Hi,
The battery that you are talking about, I am currently using it and here is my personal review on the same.

I`ve just found this:
(can`t post link yet, so google it)
Mugen Power 3400mAh Extended Battery for LG Optimus Black P970 / DOCOMO LG Optimus Bright [HLI-P970XL]
Looks promising, capacity is more than double
Do you thik it will make phone thicker?
Yes, the phone will be thicker.
If you look at Mugen direktly (first hit on google) there will be extra shells shipped with the accu. If you close enough at the picture you will see a little pit at the camera spot. I assume it will be about 5 mm thicker or so.
Greetings

I really like the look of this extended battery. Since the phone is already so thin I don't think an extended battery will make as big of a difference as it does with other phones. My only issue is the $100 price tag. Hopefully there'll be more options by the time this phone hits the USA, specifically VMU.

OMFG ! How ugly ! OB lost all the sex !
There is a highly reputable, reliable and respected seller on ebay from whom I have bought many items (but not batteries). They are selling high capacity, japanese batteries for a reasonable price.
Go onto ebay and search for 'Gold 2430MAH battery optimus black'
I emailed them regarding the quality of the batteries and the price and basically their answer was that they have an excellent feedback score on almost all batteries they have sold and the price is good because they get it straight from the factory.
I have ordered a set and will report on it after some use

There are no miracles in that area, there's no physical possibility of having such a big capacity in such a small form.
This is more than 100% fake.

Here you can find users feedback about those batteries. All of them are fake. Higher capacity requires larger size so only Mugen batteries are not fake.
Where would you say is reliable to get a new battery then? To pay 30gbp for a mugen battery is too much I think

If you need new battery - buy original one, if you need longer time, think rather of buying good 5v charger. The one for P970 is 4.8v, and some of polish lg users claim that 5v extends battery live. Think of some original microUsb charger, eg.Nokia.

I think, if you need a good product, then it's normal to pay a good price. Besides, Mugen has great customer support on Facebook http://facebook.com/mugenpowerbatteries and Twitter and through their website. They changed 1 battery for me already without issues. I rather pay a 100$ and know that I can change the battery if it does not work, rather than buying a bulk of useless junk on eBay for 10$...same goes with any other product - you can buy cheep shows and throw them away in a month, or buy good ones and wear for a year.
How much is the extended battery?

When is the last time you bought a 50 dollar gold Rolex?
But in case you feel adventurous and do buy that extended battery please do make a experience update.

I was playing on eBay for new accessories... I'm sure this one is fake (well, as they never live up to their promises), but as I haven't seen it posted on this forum, I thought I'd throw it up for debate
It was the high price - £99 - that made me curios enough to start a thread. That's a lot of money for a fake(?) item.

the battery has 4G technology...oh great...i will finally be able to use 4G !! i am getting this for sure !
Gold batteries have ben mentioned before, these are fake in terms of quoted capacity.
They are not from Japan, they are poor quality chinese cells in a posh gold wrapper.
Only good brands are: Momax, Andida & Mugen ...
Only good point is £99 is a cheap price to teach any buyer they are a muppet ...

I didn't find the battery you all have posted but I did find Prodicell 1900 mAH battery on Amazon. I dont know why it would make that big of a change, but it is a dramatic improvement over the stock oem battery. I also have the 3500 mAH battery ordered but have not got it yet. Figure i will use it when I know i will have a really busy day out and no access to a charger.
Well now that the SG2 doesnt look like it is coming out any time soon. I think I may just stick with my Trill. I do like.
So please let us know how the extended battery works out. I want one, but dont like not having a case to put on afterwards. Are there bumpers that will work with an extended battery casing?
