I am using magic running cm6.0.0-dz.I tried to play rmvb using rockplayer, but the speed is very low. What apps can help to increase the speed of the CPU? Thank you!

Find a way to overclock, over-volt and nitrogen cool your phone, then you're in business!
You can try using an 576mhz kernel (included with almost all ROMs) and set that as the constant speed with SetCPU, but it wont make a huge amount of difference. Other than that, there's nothing you can do.
Thank you

Well iv had my Zio for a few months now and even with the 2.2 Update sometimes it seems to slow down and stutter.
I have been doing some research on Rooting my phone to get wifi tethering and the ability overclock my phone for better performance.
Now so far the Zio community on here seems to be very small so i dont expect an answer very fast so here is my question.
Has anyone with a Zio Managed to root there phone and overclock it? im not talking about some CRAZY overclock. im thinking in the 50-100MHz range. if so how has the performance increased? or has the performance Decreased? how is the battery life?
I have attempted such by manually editing some CPU files. I was able to successfully adjust the governor and changed from the stock 95% to 100% CPU threashold.

So far I would say its a little faster. I definitely see a difference when opening apps and especially with the 2.3 launcher from the market.

Could you list where the CPU files are located m8?

If your phone is rooted you can use a number of overclock apps, but they use parameters based on te phone the zip is 122.88 to 600 mhz

CPU files are located within the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ directory

@matrix
What were your exact editing lines? I forgot which thread it was where you answered this question before.
I basically changed the governor to performance and threashold too 100. Actually overclocking the ZIO is giving me trouble when I try to go higher than 600000

Correction. Governor must be set to on demand to edit the threashold.

You wont be able to get true over clocking until theres been kernel source released. Has that happened yet? New to this device.
If so, and someone is willing to do something with adb, I can work on getting an overclock kernel for you guys, but I wont be able to test it myself so it could be a bit dangerous.
As long as it isn't clocked any faster than 6.5 or 7... 7 would be risky.

You cannot over clock the Zio at the moment. The Kernel does not support it. You can use an app to set it to 600mhz all the time. It usually stays at 600mhz on its on.

which is why I said if we had kernel source, I would work on it for you guys. Keep an eye out for it.
Once we ave source, if one of you can pull your current config for me, which i'll explain once its available, it shouldn't be too hard to clock up a little.

Of course. Wouldn't let that go by unnoticed.
There is a overclock widget available that works great. When screen is locked it downclocks to what ever you set it too. Once unlocked it goes to 600 MHz.

but im gonna try and bump that 600 number up a little bit. Just need source code.
Tried to overclock witb droid. Fixed some permissions with clockwork it opened and ran just like setcpu. The app said the overclock module couldn't be opened because my device wasn't listed. Obviously.
Kyo M6000 Rooted with NoAds or Bloatware.
yeah the module is gonna be device specific.
I can't wait to see what this phone can do overclocked!
I had the Droid Incredible, iPhone 3G and neither could play the videos that I encoded for the ZIO without stuttering. The ZIO is playing the video files without stuttering with default player!
MP4/H.264/AVC/AAC LC
Video
800x480/4:3/29.97/1536
Audio
48100/2/160
I was just testing these settings on full movies just to see how bad the ZIO would stutter, to my surprise it played those as if it wanted more!
I will not keep those settings, as a full movie is over 1.5GB!
I might keep the video settings and use different audio settings, because the quality of the videos kick major butt!
I will be the beta tester for your Overclocking kernel option94!
I think it would do 750Mhz no problems, which would make this phone a beast! I wonder what the video sub system is in this unit?
Hi all
On of my friends has miui running on his htc desire. As well all know both desire and milestone on stock roms does not have very good i/o. But on his desire with an ext3 partition had a beastly i/o. I mean really beastly. His i/o was the same as his processor score pushing the quadrant total way past 2000. So why is the i/o on miui so fast? Is it because of that i/o performance patch on miui? And can us milestone/droid users share the supercharged i/o love

What do you mean by I/O? Input/Output? Which Input? Which Output? SDCard I/O? User interaction?
Please be more specific

I think he might mean UI..
Nope I mean i/o input output. And this is based on the quadrant benchmarks and I can't get my head around how his i/o score is over 1000.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Depending on which ROM you have, you can get over 1000 in Quadrant. I was able to on Cronos 1.3.0, FroyoMOD 2.7.0 and iceandfire 2.2
How? I'm on iceandfire too but me I/o isn't that high and I have working ext3 on my SD card
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
What scores do you get? With Quadrant, you need to run it about 3 times to get a fully consistent result.
I get about 250-3300
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Oops. That's meant to be 250-300
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
What's your overclock?
At 1100 I get 1000 minimum... on CM6 I'd get about 1500 alot
Its set at 1.1ghz normal voltage.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
First of all, Quadrant sucks. Let's start by clearing that up.
You can cheat, especially with the I/O score. Here is how:
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-cheat-android-benchmarks
Now, if you want scores:
With CM7 and 1GHz, I get 1000.
With CM6 and 1.1GHz I used to get 1450.
Nice cheat heh
300 is freaking low tho

I think my quadrant is a lil messed up seeing as how the 3d benchmark doesn't work properly on gb-they are just white polygons :L

I just downloaded quadrant standard and I ended up getting only 1000 in total and my fps rating in the 3d section seems to be lower

Memory management is good with minfree tweaks to bump up free ram a bit.

What about gaming and battery life?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
I really can't say, as I don't use Milestone for gaming. Only for Angry Birds, and it can be played on every ROM I've tried.
The other day I installed Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden and it plays well on CM7, so I guess it would play just fine on CM6.
Hey guys/gals I am currently using SetCPU as my oc app wondering if there is any better ones? What are you using and what features you like?
Set CPU allows you to make profiles but only for limited instances... battery life screen off ect. I like that loads on boot which is nice also.
Making bad decision's one at a time.
I use antutu cpu master a lot like set cpu.

Im using Andrev OC, its not really an app, it runs as a daemon, uses a script to activate at boot. Then you can use Andrev OC adjuster and Mytr Undervolt app from market to adjust the script via GUI.
I just installed gta 3 and tried to play it. It does work but its very slow. By looking at it we can tell that its just 4 fps even after using chainfire at its best.
So, As the title states-
Is there anyway to increase GPU/overclock HTC salsa?
Not at this time. So if u already got chainfire in use that's your Max. There is speculation that the salsa already use an overclocked CPU already hence why we haven't got overclock available.

Aww man! Anyways thanks!
Hi Guys,
Is there any way to optimize the RAM on the HTC one to get better performance.
I know that supercharger v6 is around but haven't heard of anyone using it on the HTC one.
Any other options?
You could always flash a kernel that allows over clocking both the CPU and GPU, and messing around with the governors. Memory management is already rather efficient.
What ROM are you on?

Optimize in what way?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Optimizing RAM use won't give any practical performance increases unless you're doing so many things that you're literally running out of RAM, which if you are, you really need to close down some apks.
Android free up space automatically. Have not yet or never on any phone encountered low RAM warnings.
