Hey guys/gals I am currently using SetCPU as my oc app wondering if there is any better ones? What are you using and what features you like?
Set CPU allows you to make profiles but only for limited instances... battery life screen off ect. I like that loads on boot which is nice also.
Making bad decision's one at a time.
I use antutu cpu master a lot like set cpu.

Im using Andrev OC, its not really an app, it runs as a daemon, uses a script to activate at boot. Then you can use Andrev OC adjuster and Mytr Undervolt app from market to adjust the script via GUI.

I've always liked Voltage Control. It's got it all. i've also been playing around with Pimp MyCPU- its pretty neat, super easy to use. And then there is also SetCPU which is pretty popular.
Im using voltage control, easy and simple to use.

Hold up a sec. No offense but your a little off. Voltage control does BOTH. You can set a Max and Min clock just like setcpu and also allows UV. I use Voltage Control. Like I said. Its got everything you need to OC (provided the kernel is OC capable).

Is there a guide somewhere on how to safely utilize cpu optimization that's not in Korean?

Their is a good few oc kernels and the makers usually list the program that they recommend. Like set cpu, pimp cpu, voltage control, elect. Its best to use the recommend
Yes, I'm using a kernel (hydracore) that allows overclocking.
Which market program do you recommend I use with it?
Setcpu
No frills
yup setcpu the best.
set cpu.. very user friendly
SetCPU complete ,light and easy
I use antutu here. I can overclock gpu as well if your kernel supports it.

Voltage Control does the job well, too
nstools also pretty good, just weird permissions

What is the best freq for longer battery life and smooth device?
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
I have the Nexus 4 and in every day use I use have my CPU set from the lowest frequency all the way to the highest frequency and it uses them when necessary. That way when playing a game or using an app or multiple apps I can get best performance from my phone, and then when not doing something that requires a lot performance it simply save the battery by not using very much of the CPU at all. I also find interactive to be the best governor because I don't like how on demand goes all the way up when touching the screen. I like how interactive is easier on the CPU, you will see what I'm talking about if you use the SetCPU app. If you don't have SetCPU, I suggest that you get it, its great! You will also need an app called Trickster so that you can disable something called MPDecision so that your phone cannot go to 1026mhz everytime you touch the screen and you can let the interactive or ondemand governor do its job. In the app SetCPU, there is a profile section where you can create profiles to command your CPU to be at or range from a certain low to high when your phone is doing a certain something, example: you could set the CPU to be at its highest for low as well as high when you open and play Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I currently only have 1 profile, when the screen is off I have the low and high frequencies set to the lowest, that way it cannot go up at all when the screen is off and will conserve battery like crazy. Normally when your phone is in use and you touch the screen your CPU goes way up, but disable MPDecision and use those apps and your phone will run amazing and you will save a lot of battery. Have fun and good luck!
I cant use trickster mod. When i enter it, it says it needs root access. And i already granted it.

Hmmm... That sounds strange. Is your phone unlocked and rooted properly? Do you use any other apps that require root access and do they work?
Yep. When i click on trickster, im less then a sec they kicked me out and say i need root access

Hi all.
Dont know if this is a stupid request
I am on CyanogenMod based ROM and i want to save battery (maybe) disabling some cores of my O4X...
I read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804461
but not working on CM ROM so...
I ask you!
I read also this 2 threads but I dont know if they are only for htc one x
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630200
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652136
There are tricks to enable only 2-3 cores or something like this?
For CyanogenMod of course!

Hi, you could try with this nice app called Tegra Overclock. I've been using it for quite a long time now and I really like it. It's very simple and you can REALLY set how many CPUs you want online + there are also some other options for OCing etc.
Oh and btw, I just tried that app from the HTC One X thread that you pasted and unfortunately, it doesn't do the job. :/

No problem. I hope that It will help you with your battery life.
also cpu tuner and trickstermod do the job pretty well. If your aim is to save battery check cpu tuner out
But seems that trickster mod dont save those settings for me...
Multicore Power Saving
always set to 0
Max Active CPU core
always set to 1
No way to fix them (various rom and kernel tested).
AND
Seems that tegra overclock fired up my CPU (CPU never goes under 1000 Mhz but always on max)
my phone after few minutes reboots in bootlop cause the temperature reached !
I reinstalled the ROM!!
LOL experience!!:banghead:

You need to set up min/max cpu that way u wont be stuck on max cpu speed and overheat your phone.Tegraoverclock is fine but i am kinda used to SetCpu app.Download cpu spy from market and watch deep sleep that way you will know whats going on with cpu all the time.BetterBatteryStats are fine too.
