Problems with Titanium backup - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have some problems with TB- when try to restore batch or single apk it is saying "restore in progress" and keeps stuck like this until I press home button. When trying to restore batch apk's the progress bar is staying on 0% and the solution is the same- hitting home key. After this I have to close TB from Task manager. Someone with any advises?

HELP! Launcher Pro Error Rendered my phone USELESS

I've got launcher pro installed and all I did was select a setting under preferences from the home screen in the Launcherpro settings to restore back to its defaults. As soon as I did it asked me to restart. I selected to restart later and then it just started giving me this error:
The application Launcher Pro (process.android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Dumpstate_app_201007291243_android_process_acore. Log has been saved. Use *900# to copy out log.
This error keeps coming one after the next. I can't do anything on my phone.
I searched everywhere online and the solution is "HARD RESET YOUR PHONE".
I called ATT cust support and they DON"T KNOW how to do it w/out going through the UI.
Everywhere online says hold the down button and power on while holding down. I tried that and it does NOTHING.
Somebody please help?
I don't understand why I can't even get to the factory reset menu at least?
I get all my notifications and everything. I can access anything that pops into my notification tray. It get's interuppted by the launcherpro error message but I can kind of plow through it but I can get to the messages application if there's a message in my notification tray or an email. Can I somehow get to the reset menu from that tray?
I can't access any settings normally because settings run off the home screen and my home screen is unavailable due to the launcher pro widget. I just got this phone...this SUCKS.
I can also access the phone through mass storage. I new to droid so I can't brainstorm any ideas.
Try this.
1. remove your battery wait a few seconds and replace it
2. hold down the up and down volume buttons and the power button until the att screen loads on the screen
3. make sure that reboot system now is highlighted (use the power buttons to move) and press the power button
That should reboot your system. If that doesn't work try repeating step 3 but select delete all user data instead.
If launcherpro is crashing, why not go to appbrain on a computer and give the command uninstall it there. In between the crashes, I am sure the phone will get the command and do the deed. Once done, reboot the phone and either TouchWiz should launch, or the screen that tellls you to select default launcher will come up, and allow you to select TouchWiz. Worth a shot I think.
So hold down and up simultaneously? along with the power button?
Do I hold these down until the reboot menu appears? or do I have to hold all three until a specific point during the phone boot then let go?
I've never heard of appbrain but I will check it out and try it if the reset doesn't work still. Thank You!
I tried holding up and down and power and it sent me to the menu Thank You!
the options are
reboot system now
reinstall packages
delete all user data
delete cach data
is this the stock menu? I was wondering if reinstall packages would correct the issue without erasing my data?

I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to try. I would still try reboot system now first. If that doesn't work you may want to look into the appbrain solution posted above.

Hey thanks for all you guys help so far. I have a few pictures and videos I'm trying to pull off before I try the complete wipe. I'm going to look into the appbrain software. Will update.

I think you may also need to add fast web installer to the toolchain. Get that on the phone first somehow if you need to (ADB install?).

Have you tried the reboot system choice yet? That will not delete any of your data, but it may restart Launcher Pro so that it actually works.
Yes it didn't work. I tried to reinstall all packages but it's looking for some type of ".zip" file at the root directory.
I think it's because I rooted it to sideload, and so this is not the stock reboot menu.
I'm going to have to research to find out what I need to do from here. I'm a brand noob but I think I'm on the right path.

No, that is the correct reboot menu. The reinstall packages searches for update.zip in the root of the sd card, that is how you rooted the device. At this point I would suggest trying the Appbrain method and seeing if you can get that to work. I have never used it so I won't be much help there. If you can't figure that out deleting user data should fix your phone, but you will lose your data.
When you do get everything working I suggest you download rom manager from the market and making a backup of your ROM once you get everything working properly. That will enable you to use the reinstall packages choice to basically go back to a previous working version of your ROM.
Maybe adb (in Android SDK) can be used to remove Launcher Pro?
adb uninstall com.fede.launcher
The only problem is, I think USB debugging mode must be on for this to work...

If it's just pictures you are trying get, then go into mass storage mode, that you indicated you can do. Then take whatever you need off the phone and copy it to your computer. After that put the update.zip file found here onto the root of the internal sdcard. Disconnect the phone and reboot into recovery and apply the update.zip by reinstall packages. Once you get back up, do a factory reset and you will be back to a stock phone with root enabled. Either this, or get your pictures off the phone and then reflash with Odin3 One Click Downloader.
This is what happened. I guess pics/videos are saved to the SD card by default. I found them all there.
So I installed the update.zip file on my device.
I reinstalled packages. Everything went back to normal. A lot of my data was saved too!
I went to the market to download the Rom Manager and had issues. No matter how many apps I tried to download from the Market it stalled at "Starting Download". The ones I paid for said "installed" still.
I did a factory reset through the GUI. It worked. I can download now.
I entered the market with my known google username/password. I tried to reinstall ALL my paid apps. They no longer are marked "installed" but appear as if I did not pay.
Now I'm STUCK on how to get my paid apps back! Namely Rom manager PREMIUM for starters. There's no code or serial to enter. Is there a way to get this back w/out paying for it again?
From the source:

It appears that you are following the steps. Is it possible you forgot your gmail sign in information and created a new account. A second factory reset may be needed.
This is the same thing that happened to me. Hard reset fixed it.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S
I'm all set, I used the WRONG account.
For future reference, you could have just removed launcherpro from adb.

[Q] Oops!

Please help. I have a few questions.
I have recently installed Titanium Backup on my Captivate and i accidentally converted the system messaging app (SMS/MMS) to a user app. It was not backed up. It no longer appears as an app in titanium backup. Can not find it anywhere. The messaging icon has disappeared from my home screen. I opened my contacts and selected a person to send a text and hit "send message" button and got an error message saying " the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. I had to force close. I then performed a Factory Data Reset in hopes that my phone would return to the "out of the box" state. No luck.
My phone is rooted of course. Froyo 2.2
Through some investigating i learned that my phone can be booted into recovery mode, which i did. No luck. No update.zip file exist. What do i do? Thanks in advance for your help.
If i unroot the device and then do a data factory reset will that work?
If you have a 2.2 rom in your computer you can look for the .apk and just run it from the phone.
Get a file explorer that has root access (root explorer for example) You will have to mount system r/w which if you're using root explorer is a button on the top right.
navigate to /data/app and see if mms.apk is there. If so long press it select move, navigate to /system/app and paste it in then reboot.

[Q] Settings won't open

Hello friends,
My wife has unsafely and ignorantly updated his settings program through Aptoide update suggestions to an unknown file which made settings nonfunctional.
I wonder if there is anyway to restore original settings back in order.
briefly:
-- tapping settings ----> error: "unfortunately the program has stopped"
-- htc incredible s which has once been updated to ICS, at its first time release I guess.
-- there is no backup software in her phone.
-- everything else sounds functional and in order.
Thanks for your help

When you are in the app drawer, press menu button and select remove apps. Find settings app there, and press the uninstall update.

Thank you,
I opened app drawer and selected remove apps in menu but it gives the same error "unfortunately settings has stopped".
I think there might be some issues with settings core which prevents any settings action. even the quick settings wifi is nonfunctional.
can anybody give me the original "settings" APK of ICS ROM? I want to give it a try reinstalling.
Anyway if I won't be able to manage to repair, what is the best way to back up the data and then how to do hard reset of the system and restore selected apps and data?

Do a factory reset. Go to hboot and you will find the option there. Press Vol down + Power button for going to hboot.

thank you so much.
I did the factory reset, everything is fine. the little thing is that in system update it notifies that a 1.1 MB application update is available but it won't download it no matter how long I wait. is it a must package?

No, I believe it is just a minor update to the HTC Hub app. Nothing serious. :good:
BTW, You're Welcome.

How do I remove com.ezzebd.systemmonitor?

I installed an app called "System Monitor" while following a guide to rooting my HTC Desire 626 it appears to be malicious as I cannot un-install, disable or stop it using regular tools.
(I followed this guide: http://www.skyneel.com/2015/08/how-to-root-htc-desire-626s-without-pc.html
and installed this software Root_tool_V4.80.apk from this site: http://d-h.st/w6Os)
Attempting to un-install it with Malware Antibytes fails as the app seems to be intercepting all attempts to remove it . Whatever app or method I try to remove it with is shut down as soon as I tap un-install.
I think the original .apk has been replaced with something borderline suspicious. There is a page for the app that is now running on reverse.it:
https://www.reverse.it/sample/cab7c...510dfb21f1718a6fdce982a6bddd0?environmentId=8
Can anyone help??
any luck with this..facing same problem
I got rid of it on my Android device with Es File Explorer. Open ES, use the menu to find the installed Apps and select the offending System Monitor app. You will see it shows com.ezzebd.systemmonitor as the package name. Close the pop up details and tap and hold on the System Monitor app, you can select the properties button at the bottom of ES. This takes you to the uninstall/force stop screen. Choose Force Stop, say ok when prompted, and then Uninstall. It may throw you back to your home screen between the force stop and uninstall, I can't remember, but persevere if it does.
Hope that helps.
Thank you thank you! Using the ES File Explorer worked!

Kindle Looping Language

Hey all I have a problem that is driving me insane, my wife has a kindle fire hd7 3rd generation and it was getting slow and not running the best so i performed a restore on it. This kindle has not been rooted (until now) or modded in any way save for sideloading google chrome using an apk. After the restore, I attempted to setup the system for her again, the first screen is the select a language screen, I select English (usa) and click continue, it flashes over to the desktop of the kindle and loops right back to pick a language again. I can stop it by quickly pressing apps after I hit continue. I went into setting and selected the language, connected to wifi and registered with my amazon account, done everything you would normally do and when i press the home screen it just loops right back to the language select again. Ive tried 3 recoverys since then, including using the vol - power way and still the same problem. I tried the kindle first aid kit and tried wiping user and data but it did not help. I cant enable fastboot or i would install cm12 on it if nothing else. She doesnt want it modded just working but at this point im lost. Ive followed every guide to enable fastboot so i can flash it with a factory restore rom using the first aid kit but to no avail. Any help is much appreciated, if you can get rid of this language screen that would be the perfect solution.
Well... Not to sound rude but thanks for the help all...
If anyone else runs into this I have found a fix for it. If you are fast enough after pressing continue on the language select you can click on apps at the top and it will temp. stop looping. Drag down and go into settings and register your kindle, connect to wifi, all that stuff. Go into your Settings>Applications and enable (turn on) Apps from Unknown Sources. Now this is easier if you use a pc or other device, visit amazon.com and sign in to your account that your kindle is on, now use the search for apps and games at the top and search for es file explorer (any should work i used es) and send it to your device. Wait for it to install, press home and you will get the language select screen, pick one and press continue (one you speak) and quickly tap on either the broswer icon or the apps at the top. Open silk broswer if you didnt already and navigate to kingroot.net, download apk for kingroot from here and once its finished you will need to press home, do the language select again and this time press on apps only as we need to launch the file explorer. Once that is launched, navigate to the download folder and tap on the kingroot apk file and follow thru to install it, have it run after you finish installing it or press the home>pick language>apps again and tap on kingroot. Go through this until kingroot tells you root is successful. After this press home>language thing again>apps and now tap on Purity, then on tools then on bloat remover, scroll down this first list for Fire OS Setup, tap it and remove it. Go home and this time you will get an overlay screen with a finger and an ok button, tap ok and bye bye language screen, hello working tablet.
