Change Folder Icons without 3rd party crapps - Captivate Themes and Apps

Was using Folderorganizer and it has just gotten so bloated and slowwwwwwwww.... Even on JH7 and lagfixes....
Anyone know of way how to just edit the folder icons?

replacing the .png files in your launcher..
I use adw so mine is saved at ADW Launcher.apk>res>drawable-hdpi and in there is the folder icon.. replace it.
if you want multiple folder icons then I just recommend using AppOrganizer for folders (I know it's an app) but to me it's not slow :T it even comes with a set of icons of its own..

[Q] How to change installed application's icons?

Hi there, I've searched and couldn't find how to change the app's icons.
I know I can create shortcuts and change the icons with Better Cut. I know that Desktop Visualizer can create icons on the homescreen. But what I meant is to change the application's default icon. I tried to change the icon.png in /res/drawable/icon.png from the .apk files and then it says the application is not installed.
Why is that?
Is there any easier way to change the icons of installed apps instead of modifying from the .apk files?
No the easiest way to modify is modyfing apk in ninjamorph.

[Q] ADW EX with Custom Icons

How would I go on about taking the Icon package from MIUI theme, "Glowbusters" to use on ADW Ex? So that all the images would automatically change the actual app icon in the app-drawer? As well as giving apps without a dedicated image to have the same background+icon style as everything else?
I believe this is it: http://www.miui-dev.com/forums/show...Busters-5.0-TEAM-KOMMINATED-FIXED-TO-KICK-ASS
I'm aware it's for MIUI but all the icons are included in a folder within the archive, I was hoping to use it on Froyo+ADW Ex
Load the images into your gallery,
All the icons you want to change should be on one of your homescreens.
hold the icon you want to change until the mini popup menu comes up.
select edit and then press on the stock icon.
go to gallery and you should be able to select new icon.
I'm about 3 sheets to the wind right now so I really hope that is understandable
Yeah it's understandable, but what I mean is for the icons to automatically apply to the apps in the appdrawer not the icons on my homescreen. Then having it already applied in the appdrawer, if I were to bring those icons to my homescreen the icon would remain as well.
It sounds theme related where I would have to customize an adw-ex theme package or something
Ah, I see... you'd have to get someone to make an ADW theme as far as I believe. I was only on MIUI for about a day but I could've sworn that the icons changed in the drawer on adw... Are you using MIUI? If you still have the captivate, there is a port of it in the cappy forums

iPhone type folders App

Ok so I was using MIUI and one of the things I LOVED about it was the iPhone type folders, now that I am back running CM7 I would really love this feature back.
I know Go Launcher EX has this feature included, but I do not want a replacement launcher. I only want a replacement folder creator.
Is there any other app out there that will do this?
The icons showing which apps are in the folders and the drag and drop an app icon to the folder is what I am looking for. I also love the background and silver border.
The stock launcher allows drag and drop of apps from the drawer into an open folder. For more folder goodness try FolderOrganizer from the market.
Typed on a typewriter, scanned with OCR, then posted via Telnet by a trained monkey
Try simifolder
I use circlelauncher. It's not a launcher replacement, just a customizable widget. Not like iPhone at all, but works pretty much the same.
I think Folder Organizer is very similar to iPhone folders.

Move stock widgets to ADW laucher directory?

Can we move stock widgets to a directory so they can be seen by ADW laucher? and if so where do we copy them to?

Click to collapse
ADWlauncher should see any widgets that it can use.
Some of the stock widgets only work with touchwiz.
basically , so far i've noticed that u will only miss the s planner widgets (calendar , agenda , etc...) when u use another launcher.
also when u send an s memo as a "widget" , its defaulted into touchwiz , despite the fact that u can add a blank s memo widget on yr alternative laucnher.. hope someone finds a solution to this tiny issue..
hope this helps.

Where are the widgets?

Can anyone tell me in which directory/file the stock and downloaded widgets are kept? Can I just delete some as when I go to install a widget on the home screens, the long list scrolls forever?
Stock widgets are in /system/app
Downloaded are in data/app
In /system/app I see lots of .apk and .odex files. As these are system files, I presume I can't delete any?
My /data/app folder is empty despite having downloaded more than a hundred widgets. Can you help further?
Here are few I remember
buddies now, some widgets start with *samsungwidget*, accu weather, days, splannerappwidgets, geniewidget, analogue clocks, dual clock, digital clock etc.
Thanks. So I'm still looking for the widgets that I downloaded. Does anyone know where these are kept?
