Hi there, I've searched and couldn't find how to change the app's icons.
I know I can create shortcuts and change the icons with Better Cut. I know that Desktop Visualizer can create icons on the homescreen. But what I meant is to change the application's default icon. I tried to change the icon.png in /res/drawable/icon.png from the .apk files and then it says the application is not installed.
Why is that?
Is there any easier way to change the icons of installed apps instead of modifying from the .apk files?
No the easiest way to modify is modyfing apk in ninjamorph.

Was using Folderorganizer and it has just gotten so bloated and slowwwwwwwww.... Even on JH7 and lagfixes....
Anyone know of way how to just edit the folder icons?
replacing the .png files in your launcher..
I use adw so mine is saved at ADW Launcher.apk>res>drawable-hdpi and in there is the folder icon.. replace it.
if you want multiple folder icons then I just recommend using AppOrganizer for folders (I know it's an app) but to me it's not slow :T it even comes with a set of icons of its own..
I'm wondering how i can change some of the systems icons.
I have placed some shortcuts on my homescreen and i want to change the icons for the dialer shortcut, music shortcut, and battery status shortcut.
But how can i do this?
I've downloaded Desktop Visualizer but this doesn't do it how i want i to do it.
And the icons should be 72*72 pixels right?
u need to install REVOLUTUON HD 2.0.3b. that will allow u do everything.
u need programs and icons to modify,
REVOLUTUON HD 2.0.5. thats now
Sounds like Overloaded just wants to change the icons for homescreen shortcuts, rather than change actual system icons (like for notification bar etc).
If this is ture and you just want to change homescreen shortcut icons then try BetterCut, or it's free version AnyCut.
You can find both on the Market or AppBrain.
You will then need to find some icons and put them on a folder on your SD card.
You can get them yourself from the web, find them in the Android Themes section on XDA, or download them in packs from the Market (no need to install these to SD as they install to the phone like an app would).
If you do want to change the proper system icons then do what the other guys said and try a custom ROM
can anybody help me with a guide etc. im trying to create an icon pack for desktop visuliser i have searched a fair bit but still nothing, im currently applying icons by selecting image from the menu, is there any way of creating an icon set so that it shows up in the menu "icon pack" from within desktop vis, also is there a way of putting the packs on the market place?
The only icon packs available are from the developer of the app. If I were you, I'd contact the dev about either finding a work around or maybe send the dev the icons to see if they'd like to package them up for release.
The way you're doing it now is the way it's supposed to be done. I use Desktop Visualizer for different sizing options, but I use Folder Organizer far more. In Folder Organizer (the paid version) you can assign each app its own icon, and then place it on your homescreen as a widget or shortcut.
I'd like to change the default icons, Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Applications and Home.
I tried Desktop Visualizer but it just adds icons to the home screen.
My phone is rooted, so is it possible to locate them and overwrite the files?
Thanks.
Try Go Launcher..
Thanks, I tried that, but I just want to change the icons, I've searched the root but can't identify them.
Hi,
the icon dock of the HTC One launcher apperently only allows to place installed apps on it instead of using shortcuts created on the home screen.
So you have to stick with what ever icon this app comes with (not using e.g. icon changer).
Now I wonder if there is a way, or if any one chould help me changing the default icon of an app (maxthon browser) to the default internet icon of the HtC one.
I have already tried some methods but the modded apk file won't install...
Thanks in advance!
I found a solution that finally worked...

You'd need to install a custom launcher such as Apex or Nova. With them it gives you the ability to change any app icons that you'd like to.
As far as I'm aware, it can't be done without other launchers which means you can't keep stock sense which comes with the One.
if you want the Stock launcher, you can use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DMsImpwLmNvLmJpaS5hbmRyb2lkLmFwcC5kc2t2enIiXQ..

I did not use a custom launcher.
If you want to change the icon, you can open the apk with e.g. winrar. The issue I apparently had, was that after altering the apk file, the application is not properly signed anymore. So it does not install. So I found a way to do this.
Anyway, as far as I learned during this process, this can also be used to sign whatever you like and make it install on your device, including soffware not legally obtained. Therefore, I would prefer not to share this solution. Sorry.
If you want change the icons of one app, you can decompile this, change the icon and recompile.
This will work.
I use this method for some apps
Change the Maxthon icon with stock Browser icon is simple

I always forget about that method as it's just easier to use a launcher
