Kyocera Zio M6000 - can't uninstall default games even with root [SOLVED] - Kyocera Zio M6000

I'm trying to uninstall "Uno" and "Midnight Bowling" which came with the phone. It is rooted but Titanium backup says it "failed to locate the apk file" and shows the names in red for "system service".
I looked in /system/app/ and couldn't find it. I also did a system search with Astro for them and could find nothing.
Suggestions?
EDIT: solution
The default cricket applications are located here:
/data/FLEX/app
They can be deleted if you have root
You can use either ADB shell or some app like RootExplorer.

I do not have the answer to this, but would be very interested in finding out how to uninstall it.

I'm not sure what it would take to get it off of the phone entirely but you should be able to get it to atleast go away by renaming the file with ADB. Tricky part may be finding that file name though said you don't see anything that looks related to it.

When you say you looked in system/app and couldn't find it, do you mean you couldn't find the system/app folder, or that you couldn't find an APK file that looked like it was for either of those games? If you couldn't find the folder, then that's because whatever program you were using wasn't granted super-user permissions - rooting the phone doesn't automatically mean that all apps can act as the SU (thankfully!). If the app you were using didn't know how to get SU permissions, then it wouldn't be able to see the folder.
If Astro doesn't know how to get SU permissions (I stopped using that a while ago so I couldn't tell you), then EStrongs File Explorer might work but I think it depends on what ROM you're using. In the menu allowing you to get root permissions, it asks whether your ROM is based off "CyanogenMOD" or "HiAPK" - if your ROM isn't one of those, it might not work.
Another thing to try is looking through the folder via ADB. Use
Code:
adb root
adb remount
adb shell
cd system/app
ls
to see what's installed. Remember you have to run "adb remount" before you can actually modify the system folder, otherwise the folder remains read-only.

I could look in system/app, but the apk's weren't there.
The app manager says the games take a couple megs each, but I've searched for all apk's I could find, and they aren't anywhere.

Ahh, woohoo, thanks.
Even though I was able to access the root dir with ASTRO, it didn't show anything in that folder. I installed Root Explorer and was able to see it then. Too bad there isn't a way to give ASTRO full access, it has such a great UI.

Confirmed, i removed bowling/uno/ with these steps:
always backup data that you want to delete
1. backup both apk files with titanium backup "saves to folder on sd card"
2. use root exployer browse to data/flex/app then hit menu multiselect
select both apk files then delete then reboot
also if you go to data/data hit menu multiselect then select both folders for gameloft and delete it will delete data for the two games to free up space.
always backup all data that you plan to delete so you can restore if something goes wrong reboot!
alternate bootup music instead of cricket oog file goes in data/flex/bootanimation

Is it possible to overclock za rooted zio?

Sorry didn't realize this thread says solved. Can I get this moved?
You can edit some files hidden deep within the phone located in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/
There are some files related to the cpu such as the governor that many cpu apps exploit. I have found that you can edit the files with root explorer. Be careful with any changes you make this deep in the system. I have already semi-bricked the phone attempting to make such modifications. If you end up with a phone that loops at the CricKet logo you will need to use sdk-manager to erase the system and update again and start over with no root and all the bloat.

Contacts issue

Does anyone knows why this are happening? When I select a contact it gave me this messages:
Sorry!
The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I've been having issues with this too, there are threads all over various android forums (sorry, new user, can't post links) for it, just try google. In order for anyone to be able to help you however, we need to know what you've done to your phone, just root, custom ROM, frozen apps/services, deleted system apps, etc. as any of those could be having an effect on your phone. Some people are able to fix it by putting back the yahoo! contacts authenticator, but that did not help with mine, and I only had success after SBFing it.
Tanx. I rooted my phone and I deleted only the veryzon apps. I think it's all.

I am one of them - but it was necessary to De-Frost both Yahoo apps.
BTW, is there somewhere a list of apps safe to freeze?

PLEASE Be sure to make backups while removing, or changing the stock apps with your phone in order to save yourself a lot of time, Ibuprofen and caffeine.
Yes, there are various ones, but I found this one to be most helpful; (please note this entire list was copied from Cory Streater over on androidcentral forums, and is actually a list & guide for removing bloat apps, though these same ones SHOULD be safe to freeze, should you choose to)
Please read carefully and proceed with caution
If you are only looking for the lists, feel free to scroll down to them. That said, there is some very important info before the lists I would strongly encourage you read.
This list has been created based on my prior experiences with a variety of devices. I am very confident that the Verizon Bloatware, Live Wallpapers, and Widgets listed below can be safely renamed/moved. That said, this is a new device with an updated version of Motoblur. If you do not want to be a test case, you should wait for others to confirm these apps are safe to remove. Do not throw stones at me if something goes wrong.
Before you begin:
Before you start making changes, I would strongly recommend backing up your device with a program like Titanium Backup (also in the market).
All of the files below are in /system/app.
The most popular file explorer for accessing and moving these files is called Root Explorer.
Do not delete files. Either:
Rename them from <filename.apk> to <filename.apk.old>
Read post #2 to learn how to move them. Historically, on other phones, OTA updates have failed if apps don't exist. The system folder had to be exactly the way it was when the phone shipped.
Before you rename or move an app in the /system/app folder, check the list below. If it is not listed, or you are unsure if it is safe to modify, please ask first. To be safe, I would only remove the apps listed below, until it is updated.
If an APK file also has an associated ODEX file, the ODEX can be renamed/moved also.
The following is a must read if you need to put an app back!
When you move an app (and ODEX if applicable) file, from /system/app to the SD card, the permissions change from rw-r--r-- (to) --rwxr-x. The owner/group changes from root/root to system/sdcard_rw. The app disappears from the app drawer and all is good.
Now, lets say you move them back for some reason:
When you move them back, the permissions remain what they were on the SD card.
The apps (e.g., VZ Nav) will not show up in the app drawer - even after a reboot.
You need to put the permissions back to rw-r--r-- and then reboot before they will show up in the app drawer again.
The owner/group of these files will remain system/sdcard_rw, but that doesn't seem to have any negative impact.
The best way to change the permissions - is to use Root Explorer.
Move your apps from the SD card to your /system/app folder.
If it isn't already, mount the folder as R/W
Press down on the file you want to change the permissions on then select permissions from the popup. If you get an error that it isn't read/write, then you didn't mount the folder.
Next, you should get a popup that allows you to change permissions. Change them as follows:
Required file permissions if you need to move something back:
Group Read Write Execute
User Checked Checked Not Checked
Group Checked Not Checked Not Checked
Others Checked Not Checked Not Checked

There will be others, I'm sure, but I won't be the first to try.

Suggested alternatives for removed apps:
Instead of the built in browser use Dolphin HD.
Use Google Maps with Navigation instead of VZ Navigator.
Buy apps through the Amazon MP3 store instead of the VCast music app.
Convert movies using DVD Catalyst 3, then transfer to your SD card instead of using the VCast video app.
For file browsing try using Root Explorer.
Search the market for a free caller ID - instead of the subscription based CityID app.
Instead of the Verizon IM client search the Market for an IM client app and/or stick to the built in Gtalk application.

And, sorry for the lack of formatting on the previous post. As I said, it was copied from another forum, and I would have posted a direct link, but I'm not actually allowed to yet. Hope it helps!
the same issue has already been solved here and here.
Personally, I succeeded - my XT860 is working as it should (see threads above).
What is really missing is a list of apps with descriptions of what they do to enable everybody to decide, whethet it is safe in terms of their needs to remove them.
Titanium Backup works good in terms of freezing apps, but failed me completely in terms of backup - I should have read their webpages more thoroughly... it seems TB cannot recover some system apps even if it tells you they are backed up. To have an image of systems apps saved and root explorer available is definitely safer way how to go back.

[Q] is there any know way to remove 1gb ram limit?

I understand that if an app have a 1gb ram requirement there must be a reason behind it, but i just discovered that Microsoft Research's Face Swap needs 1gb too.
I have a Lumia 720 and i'm used to have face swap app even with my old win 7.8 phone, it looks like a stupid and non-sense limit.
I tried to download the .xap from web store but it's encrypted so i can't do much. Someone have already lost some time on this?
You would have to edit the WMAppManifest File inside the XAP to remove the Limit so unless you can decrypt it you can't remove the Setting. Best idea might be to contact the devlopers though. I don't believe they would set the Limit unless they have reason to do so. It definitely is not set by Default.
How can we see 1GB ram requirement on the application page? I have lumia 620 and I cant install it too.

the only way i found to read the "1gb ram needed" error is open windows store application's link from a qr code and then tap on the error message on the phone.
looks like we totally need 1gb for this :\
thanks StevieBallz for the explanation.. i hope someday wp8 will just optimize ram management and remove this limit! I suppose is possible, iphone 3gs with 256mb of ram can run heavy games like real racing 2, why a 512mb ram phone can't run a face swap application?
512 MB devices offer up to 180 MB of Memory for App usage. 1 GB devices offer up to 380 MB of Memory for App usage. The rest of the Memory is reserved for the System, Background Tasks like playing Music, Voice over IP calls like Skype or Background Navigation.
Basically if the Devs put the effort in to get their App running with a Maximum of 180 MB it can run on 512 MB devices. If they Need more Memory than that they'll have to Limit the App to 1 GB devices. There is nothing Microsoft can do to Change that, given that it's down to the Apps Memory footprint. I can't imagine that an App can use > 180 MB on a 256 MB iPhone so it's most definitely down to the Developer to Change this.
This is an very interesting theme!
I think windows phone hast problems work with pictures and the memory limit.
Yesterday I have upload an app to store names Picture Ripper Project.
This is an mass picture downloader, that downloads pictures from Internet websites to phone.
The user can create his own lockscreen and tile images cycler.
In the first version of this app I have so many problems with the SYSTEM OUT OF MEMORY!
When the Engine downloads 15 Pictures with an size from 300 KB, the app has shut down.
I don't know why the Memory of this pictures expands over the Limit!
Now I have write down two new download engines. The Image Downloader and the Image Links Downloader.
I have create an way to download up 100 pictures at once and its working if the size of the pictures not so big.
I need some tester for this app. I only have an Lumia 920 and a Lumia 820 to testing it.
If your interest, send me an PN and get the App for free when it is online!
Thank you!

This happens because you keep the pictures in memory, and do not free/close/dispose the file streams after download. The actual size of an image in memory is bigger than its size on disk. There is no problem with the system. Just your app is doing it wrong.
The basic problem is that a JPEG compressed Image when being opened is decoded to a bitmap array that takes quite a lot more space given that it isn't compressed. 10 1280x720 images can easily take up up to 10 MB even when compressed and can get as big as 50 MB when uncompressed.
That aside your problem most certainly has to do with references to those images being retained in your App (as mentioned by Mcosmin), so the memory is not freed up. You can debug that using the Profiler included with the Windows Phone SDK. There are WebCasts and articles by Microsoft that explain the usage of the tools.
In the Downloadengines I am do it this way!
Downloading the images to an temp file, create an Thumbnail of it, delete the file and download the next!
It works fine.
With the Thumbnails i can open Folders with more then 200 Pictures!
The app is online at the marketplace now!
http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=1034eecd-381c-41dc-9386-86498d0ffd17
You can do this a lot faster by using memory streams instead of file streams for temp file to avoid the slower isolated storage.
I am try this in the next version!
Thanks all

[Q] File Explorer/manger on WP 8 ?

Just got my wife a Lumia 520 and i noticed it does not have a file manager... is this normal?
I'm used to have file manager on Android so this is quite lame...
Also any idea on how to add musics (MP3/WMA) on the ringtones?
Thks
So... the Internet has these things called "search engines" which you can use to find all manner of cool things. You should really try using one of them.
1: Yes, it's normal that there is no file manager built into WP8. There wasn't one in WP7, either. This is not news. Know what you're buying...
2: There are apps (both on the Store and on this forum) which add very limited file browsing and management capability. However, the OS is extremely restrictive of app permissions - moreso than your typical Android build - so most of the filesystem is unreadable and all but a tiny portion of what's left is read-only.
3: Did you even read the little info sheet that comes with your phone? You would save us all a bunch of time if you did. Connect the phone to your computer using USB. It will appear as an MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) device. You can use this to copy media files (including songs and ringtones) to the phone, as well as copying other media files (such as pictures or video you took) from the phone to the PC. If you're running Windows, it will also offer to install an app to make synching easier. Pretty much every OS has tools for working with MTP devices, including all desktop-oriented Linux distros I've ever tried.
Think of the apps as the file browser. An app that can manipulate a certain file type will show you all of that type of file on your phone. Coming from android you will have to rework your way of using your phone. And SKY DRIVE is your friend. And I'm glad you posted your question because I for one have used and love wp8 although I use my note 2 as my daily. I love people that say search for the answer yet give a long drawn out sarcastic answer anyway.
1.No file browser.
2.Use apps for manipulation of said files
3.Sky drive is your friend. It COULD be said it's wp8s file manager.
4. Have fun!

You can hook your phone to your PC and use the Windows Phone app for desk top, this will let you browse your files as far as music, ringtones, pictures and videos; I'm not sure if it includes documents but it the closest to what you are looking for because system files are off limit like the guys just explained.
What I don't understand is if you can view your files from your PC why can you do the same from the phone? Oh well maybe one day like in an update; this would be cool for browsing for files on your SD card...

Ok so i appreciated the help but i don't really explain well in the OP.
I apologize for the way i wrote the OP, i was frustrated after unsuccessful search for a way to work around the limitations of the OS...
I did not know that the WP7 and 8 did not add an file manager, but the other part i did know :/ so no need to be so sarcastic in your reply (last time a used a Windows based phone it add windows mobile and it did have file explorer much like other OS's).
What i really meant was if anyone knows a way to work around the OS locks on the file system and of course an file explorer that uses it... But after more search i find none
I'm still pretty happy with the lumia 520... just frustrated that i cant add files were i wanted.
Yeah, that exact question has been asked before. People are working on it. Part of the reason I wrote my webserver app was to facilitate deeper exploration of WP8 in the hopes of finding a way to unlock more permissions. So far, no dice. The OS is still young, however.
With that said, from a "what can I do with it" perspective, it's best to think of WP8 as being like iOS: until or unless "jailbroken", everything runs with extremely low permissions.

Ok thanks for the info .
After some research i got the idea that WP8 as worst than iOS in terms of restrictions :/...
Thats really a shame because this Lumia 520 hardware its really nice for the price. It will be awesome wen someone is able to root it.
Still i will keep using Android on my personal phone... (this one was bought for my wife).

So far i can't move files (wma and MP3) to the inner folders on the ringtone folder... and the custom ringtone option does not let me chose other files than the one it came from factory
Not really a big bummer but it just seems a stupid limitation...
"Inner folders"? I just dragged files to Phone\Ringtones and they appeared at the top of the list, under "Custom". I didn't even need to resize them or change the genre, as WP7 required.

Music files should go into the music folder and ringtone files go into the ringtone folder, this is what I did; I put in an SD card and created Folders on it with the same name as the ones on the internal storage and placed all my music and ringtone files there, when you go to ringtones it shows up under custom, if your talking about alert tones for MMS or SMS then you are out of luck other than ringtones the only thing you can change is your alarm tones.
This is a big mistake by MS by not allowing users to use customer tones form email and SMS or MMS their are customers that are actually returning their phones and exchanging them for Android and even iPhones because of this and other limitations. Users have been asking for this since 2011 on MS's very own suggestion page (check it out here) and MS hasn't even responded or given a hit to fixing this issue.
For you guys who know me well and see that I bring this subject up a lot, I apologize but MS needs to wake up and stop trying to restrict even the simplest of tasks.
1. Connect the phone via USB. An MTP device, with the phone's name, will appear (for example, in Windows Explorer).
2. Open the phone device. You will see a "drive" called "Phone". There may be a second volume called "SD card".
3. Open the Phone volume. You will see the following folders: Documents, Music, Pictures, Ringtones, Video.
4. Open the Rintones folder. It should not have any sub-folders.
5. Copy the music you want to use, as MP3 or DRM-free WMA (I think DRM-free AAC/M4A also works), into this folder.
6. On the phone, go to Settings, then Ringtones+Sounds, and tap on the box under Ringtone.
7. Scroll to the top of the list. There will be a header "Custom", under which the music you added to the Ringtones folder will be listed (by title metadata, not file name).
8. Tap the Play icon beside a song if you want to see how it sounds as a ringtone, then tap the song you want to use as your ringtone.
If this doesn't work, be very, very specific about what step looks wrong (i.e. is not as described) and what you see instead. Also, be specific about the kind of music you're trying to use. I have tested using 128Kbps (constant bit rate) stereo 44.1KHz MP3 and WMA files of up to about 4:40 long.

Like i've said i've done the above (like you suggested) the 1st time and repeated and nothing happen.. so i reset the phone!
Copied just one file to the ringtone folder and success it worked (!). I don't know why it did not the other times ... Now my wife can copy her musics and put hers ringtones as she like.
Here is my device info in case its usefull for anyone:
model: Lumia 520
MMN: RM-914_eu_portugal_281
OS version: 8.0.10211.204
HW rev:1.0.0.0
Firmware rev: 1030.6408.1309.0003
Thanks for the help guys
OS is young and the questions you posted, really needs to be solved. MS has put too much restrictions in OS but I think it will open some APIs and remove some restrictions in WP blue update due in early 2014. I only need limited file explorer to manage my personal files, a good Music & Video app(VLC is coming) and a notification center, that's it. All would be well for me to jump the ship from Android.
Btw, try Kirik file browser. It gives you some limited accessibilities on SD card.

I completely agree. MS still as lot to do on this OS... But for people who don't need more computing options its a good choice (i think i like it better than iOS...).
Thx for the tip, i've already try it does help a little.
So far besides the OS limitations my biggest disappointment is the store... there is not enough programs to satisfy my needs :/ But like i stated before i'm happy with the device (actually my wife is lol since its her that uses it).
Switching from Android... hmm no. I don't see myself switch to WP or iOS (btw i have iPod touch 4th gen) for so many reasons, but to start the integration with my Google account and services.
I had a Qtek back in 2k3 (actually was a job phone) and used Windows Mobile (or was it CE?? cant remember) and back then i love it. But the "updated" Windows OS for mobile does not give me the same experience. Android so far is my favorite (gonna give a try to Ubuntu touch since i use Ubuntu at work... lets see how it performs).
The whole thing is that WP8 is designed to protected installed apps _from other installed apps_. Any data an app writes, is completely off limits to any other application. So a file manager would be compeltely pointless. If someone would create one, you could create files and maybe even download files in the folders you created.... but no other app would ever see that data.
this makes programs that can download data (Windows File sharing, FTP clients, etc..) to be played by another program (music player, video player, etc..) impossible.
I do agree though that WP8 needs to create a single 'unmanaged, unprotected data pool' where all apps can write / read, probably organized by folders just so people understand it.
If an app then wants to write data there, it knows it got no protection and is on its own. But if an app wants to write personal data (appointments, messages, contacts, that kinda of thing) it can write it in it's own data store like WP8 is now and the data is protected from every other possible app.
If they will do this for Blue... I don't know. I haven't seen it on a list anywhere yet.
Well, you can ask the OS to open a file (the equivalent of ShellExecute on Win32) and that can be used as a form of inter-app communication and file passing (sending a file from a file browser to the media player is possible, for example). The trick is that it's a blind push; there's no way to ask for the file back, or query what files there are. Also, the other app needs to choose to download the file.
There are Capabilities in the WP8 security policies which could be used to make a decent file browser, at least for the basic stuff (media libraries, documents, a "common area" on the file system, etc.). However, we cannot currently sideload any application which uses them, and I very much doubt MS would let us publish such an app through the store (although it might be worth trying...)

I am fairly certain the current situation will probably change with WP8.1.
if wpdev voice website is an indication of their intentions for wp8.1, things will look very nice soon enough.

Storage problem

Yesterday I checked my available space to download something on the phone and realized that there is miscellaneous files that eats up my storage for no reason.
It was not there before and when I take total of them it does not reach 8.5gb, not a little bit.
What might be causing this? It is not bloat I believe. It was not that large on the first day of the phone.

hi,
If you tap on "miscellaneous files" it should open up another page with a brakedown of all you files thats make up the 8.5 Gb. In short if you look at the listed content you will see its overall your 3 rd party apps + some system apps, that you installed. etc etc
Lot of 3rd party apps keep various data etc for your relevant
apps to function properly.
eg.. a weather app might keep various themes in these files that enables you to tweak that app with various combo of themes. Also in my breakdown i see my S Note has data in it that i saved. Deleting this file would cause me to loose my S Note data..! (So be careful. )
I you check the listed breakdown you can decide if you want to delete it, but be careful.!
Deleting some files, might cause that app to force close or not function. or loose data that you saved ( Eg Games data)
Lastly, the longer you have and use your device, the more data is added or installing new apps for this "miscellaneous files" to increase in size. Also sometimes when uninstalling an app, the relevant app data of that app, is not deleted and bloats your device !
You have to manage your device properly.
good luck

Well when I add them up it barely hits 350 mb. The rest is unknown (not shown under the "miscellaneous files" section). The largest file is 247 mb for my dictionary files and the rest only 100 mb or so. Still that does not explain the 8.5 gb file You can check the screenshot to see what I am complaining about

That is bizarre! I find a much better way to do storage analysis is using one of the file manager tools. I use File Manager HD which has a storage analysis tool https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm.hd
I am using es file explorer. One thing I forgot to mention that I am using Spotify. When I search through es file app, I have ~14 gb of file lol but now the question is, if I do have 14 gb Spotify file, then my other applications don't use my storage or what? Because I have lots of apps installed, they supposed to consume some storege I am confused, a lot.
Edit: removed 2 downloaded play list through Spotify, did not effect any storage usage anyways. The files size are the same through es file explorer.

hi,
yes, i do now have a better understanding of what you mean.
Yes, i quickly checked an saw my
miscellaneous files.
Yes it does not add up at first glance. My my files add up to - + 400 mb. but it shows 1.6 gig.
I then checked disk space with es file
Eventually everything adds up (i think) i suspect part of miscellaneous files also includes your " Android" folder (Data + Obb folder) which is not shown but mine is 1.2 gig in size.
Adding that Android folder, to my other total from miscellaneous files adds correct total as listed total in miscellaneous. (hope you follow)
Just remember, the Android folder on your phone mostly contains you 3 rd party data apps and your games data etc etc. and a few o/s apps data
Bottom line,
i would say yes total is....
your listed miscellaneous files plus Android folder (data plus obb folder)?? (thats not listed but) but included in total of miscellaneous ?
Not sure, but yes thats my take.
good luck
My obb file is empty if there is no hidden files.
Android/data has spotify folder as I told and it's size is 6.55 gb which I use actually. Now everything is clearer except why it does not go down when I remove the downloaded musics

Question unable to view micro-sd card with 3rd party apps?

Hello,
As usual with all my 'new' phones, I struggle with file explorer as I prefer to sideload my apps (I'm not Google's best friend) via desktop / usb / micro-sb / install. This seems to coincide with Google's view that micro-sd card is not Google's best friend either, and it seems (am I wrong?) that with each new OS variant, it's a steeper and steeper uphill struggle with Android v. external storage. I managed, in the end, to take it under control in Android 6, but under Android 12 in my new G50 I've failed miserably. Basically, every (about 5 - 6) file manager / browser apps I installed (from apks put directly in internal memory), fails to see the micro-sd. I formatted and then formatted again inside my phone (my desktop can see it, G50 can see it in settings (storage), Storage can 'see it, but those apps can't see what is actually inside. I have a vague idea it's about 'permissions', but I did check that those file manager apps have permission for 'file and media' and no other permissions have been denied, so I've hit the wall here.
Interestingly (perhaps 'obviously'), VLC player can browse (and play) sound files on the card, even though it's got exactly the same permissions. Presumably some photo browser would be able to access images on the card, so why is that such a struggle with file managers?
In fact, I wouldn't mind the built-in file browser ('Files'?), if it wasn't for the fact that it's an abomination to start it. I can see it in settings (as system app), but I can't create a shortcut to it (home screen), because it's not listed in the app drawer (presumably, as it's a system app). So, to get to any files on micro-sd, I need to go through a very convoluted route of:
Settings > Storage > choose storage > Files.
On top of which, it is a truly HORRIBLE file browser in terms of features and interface. Yes, there's the google files app, which also can access micro-sd card, but I generally disable all Google apps, unless I absolutely have to.
Is there anything else I can do about it, or is that 'it', i.e. this is baked in and no replacements will work? (short of google files and rooting, presumably, but I can't root G50, because I do need a couple of banking apps and one or two others, which won't work on rooted handset).
Regards,
N.
Welcome the the Gookill nightmare of scoped storage. Some more work arounds.
Google hates expandable storage as it conflicts with their lame cloud everything strategy. Like MS they want to ram cloud down our throats.
I run 2 Samsung N10+'s one on Pie the other Q so I don't have to deal with this bs.
