Upgraded to JPH firmware last night through the kies method however finding it too buggy so i want to revert back to original firmware using kies. Is this possible?
I want to avoid other methods because i do not have 3 button recover/dl available. I know i probably shouldn't have updated the FW in the first place but i was getting curious!

ok.. so i fw is back to jg4 with keis.... however i have no 2g/3g connectivity... i can still make/receive phone calls but cant use the internet... heeeeeelp please...
APNs missing? If so, put them in manually.

I have used Odin once before when I broke my phone, i have version I9000XXJPK
Can someone please tell me the version i need to download so that i have official 2.2 for UK spec?
There are so many numbers etc im getting lost off.
I have been on samfirmware and I just cant decide which version i need to be official.
My phone currently cant send SMS and ive read thats because of something wrong with the custom FW i have on. (it was like this when i bought it from the shop second hand)

Hey there. It can be a bit confusing, but follow the notes on samfirmware and you should be fine. I upgraded from T-Mobile UK's stock firmware (I forget which version) to JPA, via JM4.
I am using JPA now (again, not sure which provider this is, but it seems to be fairly stock), with no problems.
Make sure you check the notes for each ROM (ie, some have an upgrade path, and some do not). You may need to use a different PIT file and partition accordingly.

All the release dates are old on Samfirmware, the official froyo for the uk wasnt released until November. the latest firmware on samfirmware is October....
Im really confused how i get from my FW to an official newest froyo. Kies wont work for me at all, tried 3 computers now.
Seriously, screw Kies. It wouldn't upgrade my unit (obviously as there was no provider firmware available), so I patched it with the util posted here and it flashed to about 50% then failed, thus bricking my phone in the process.
If you're not bothered about your provider bloaty junk that ships with the phone, you may as well just bite the bullet and flash JPA or JP0 via Odin. I doubt these are UK specific ROMs (as you mention, Froyo was slated for Nov here in the UK) as samfirmware's are all dated Oct 10, but my phone seems just fine- been using it for around 2 weeks now with no hitches.

Im having this same problem with my girlfriends phone.
Everytime I try to update her phone it says that it cannot upgrade her phone.
I updated mine to 2.2.1 now. Her phone is still on 2.1-update.
Her buildnummer is I9000XXJF5.
Either she does not recieve my MMS.
Very strange.
P.s. Im from holland, and the phone arrived in Germany Language.

Your apn settings will be different on o2 if the phone is from orange which is why probably both internet and mms doesnt work.
Don't know why kies isn't playing ball, make sure u have the latest version.
I'd suggest changing to a stock firmware from samsung. E.g. The latest jpy firmware.
First thing is to check the 3 bitton combo works, if it doesn't then there is a really simple windows based fix for this on this forum that doesn't require any programming or command line stuff.
Next, visit samfirmware, sign up free, download odin and firmware. Follow instructions to a T. Install jpo firmware first as it's v2.2 then you can go for jpy as the v2.2.1 is really a vast speed increase.

Ive done all the setting with o2 and still dont work.

If your phone is O2 UK you get update to )2 firmware .
If its an Orange product code phone you need to check Orange has updated the firmware .

you could always do what i did with my o2 uk phone that wouldn't upgrade to latest version...im guessing that you may still be on JM1 software? [thats what mine was].
all i did was download the Kies registory patcher and use it to tell kies that i was on XEU firmware. next time i connected to kies it told me there was an upgrade available to JPY [2.2.1].

I bought my Galaxy SL from Egypt; however, I've lost my original ROM. I've tried both I9003JPKD1 and I9003JPKE1 (Both are Arabic), yet kies still complains it can't update the version. I've problems with these 2 ROMs. The perfromance is sluggish and the camera hangs a lot. I need to use Kies to update to the original firmware my phone came with. Is there anyway to do this?

Kies won't update your software unless it detects the firmware your carrier says you should have. Therefore if you are looking for Kies to restore your software to the original version, it won't happen.
You need to find out what the name of your original firmware was and try to download it from samfirmware.com or elsewhere, then use Odin to flash it to your phone.

Try kies registry patch and update via kies.

I flashed my SGS to CM7 and don't really like it. I have downloaded the firmware ( I9000DXJF4 )from sammobile and flashed it. However, I am unable to upgrade the firmware using Kies to the new firmware available thru Samsung.
My current version is as followed
PDA: I9000DXJF4
PHONE: I9000DXJF4
CSC: I9000OLBJF4
From the look of my phone, everything seem to be back to its original setting, with all the singtel (my telco provider ) apps. Now I am trying to upgrade to Froyo 2.2 (I think) using Kies. Kies prompted that it is unable to update the firmware. I tried the latest version of kies and also version 1.5. Both are unable to do so.
Anyone can kindly advise?
Try changing your CSC code to XEU. I encountered some issues with KIES updates when having CSC code KOR.

Thanks for your help. I got my IMEI code. It pop up in a small window. Then I tried to change the CSC using the method u mentioned. But nothing happen. When I press the call button, it say "USSD code running..." then follow by "UNKNOWN APPLICATION"
I also tried to install the software, but it is only for android 2.2 and above. I tried to find the crack version for the premium version but cant find any. Do you have the premium version? Can upload to mediafire and send me the link?
Never try to install via KIES ..
Install via ODIN the Firmware you want it's simply better, even if ODIN is unofficial.
Introductions you will find by googleing I think .. it's easy.

Ya, using Odin now. But still prefer Kies over Odin. A lot of stuff become automatic with Kies.
I just flash to DXJG4 hoping to be able to link to kies but it failed.
I read that once the lagfix is fixed, there will be problem with kies. Am I fixing the lagfix in anyway thus leading to this problem?
Did you get solution to your problem? I had the same problem with a Galaxy Wonder... when i tried to upgrade via kies i got this screen..

I tried OTA upgrade with perfect results... And the funny thing is that I NEVER before could start OTA...
BTW everything's fine now and I bumped to 2.3.6 ggbrd

You can download all the recent firmware from sammobile and you can flash it via odin. Flashing stock ROM via Odin
Posting here as the AT&T board is dead
I am in the UK with an unlocked AT&T Note 5 and I cant use the Gear VR as I need the update that enabled it.
I have tried every way to upgrade the firmware using SmartSwitch, Kies etc and every time I end up with stock firmware.
Is there a way for somebody with the updated firmware to somehow upload it so it can be flashed through odin?
