You can download and install it fine. You can even set it up and skin it fine but when the keyboard pulls up its still the default. I miss my big keys!
Me too... Any ideas? :/
Hold the "123" button then you can select "Better Keyboard" as a default.

No I mean when you have your onscreen keyboard display, press and hold "123" button and an option will show up.
I have a 12# button and when I hold that there is no option given???
Click and hold the input text box instead, until a pop-up comes up which lets you choose the input method. (Don't try it on the desktop google widget, of course)
Thanks that worked...BUT
The app gives a message about having to force close. Any suggestions?
I am so close to getting this to work lol
Thanks!
Worked here too. Thanks!
Hi buddies,
New keyboard of Topaz doesn't include ctrl and alt. How can i get the traditional keyboard back? Or is there any work around?
Thanks in advance.
keyboard
so, when you write a message, middle bottom you have a keyboard. click on it (try double click or exactly on the up sign and a menu appears to change the keyboard type). And select keyboard.
But that is without ctrl and alt
select keyboard, it has ctrl(the button with ctl), I don't know about alt though
Is there a way to use the better keyboard on the nexus? i installed it but still uses the default one
Yes, open the keyboard and hold the 123 keys till input method wording show. Then you can choose better keyboard as the default.
I installed Smart Keyboard Pro. To use I had to enable it in Settings > Language & Keyboard.
But I can only use it in html forms by long pressing a form field, selecting "input method" and than choosing it. The whole process makes smart keyboard pretty much useless...
Please, let me know If you can successfully enable better keyboard and overcome this problem somehow...

Thiago Souza

is there any way to use ctrl(mic)+a separately of c to copy, because to copy i need to hold mic+a+c. so, make it normally, like in a pc keyboard. ctrl+a = select all (and stay selected) so, i press ctrl+c (to copy it)
Just hit SHIFT+ALT and the left (or wheather you are, the right arrow key). This selects the whole line.
And hitting ALT and arrow-up or arrow-down, acts like POS1 and END. VEEEEEEERY handy
