I have a brand new phone with no modifications. When trying to check with AT & T as to how much data I have used, I dial *data# to receive a text message as to how much data I have used. Every time I do this I receive the above error message. I hit the Force Close and the phone is always back to the home page. I would like to know if anyone else has seen this problem? I do receive the message from AT & T as to the data usage.
Thanks

For 3 days now for a span of 1.5 hours a day I receive the same message from an unknown source. Ranging from every 2-5 minutes apart. Has anyone experienced this as well? Is this possibly from an AT&T Alert (QuickReach is what I was told) that no longer functions properly due to a flashed ROM?
Anyone ever heard of Quickreach?
Luckily I have unlimited SMS..so irritating.
Did you use a different SMSC # on your phone?
Happened to me once, because the dude that used the phone before me changed his smsc # on it.
There was another post on this that I ran across some time back. It stated that you might receive text messages like this when your phone is attempting to receive email through the push email function, but your phone is not connected to the internet. I do not have all of the info on this unfortunately, but I ran into it as well recently, and when I reconnected to MEdia Net, those texts stopped.
Hope this gives you some insight.
Aren't those the text messages you get after using OZ instant messaging? I used to get those when I used OZIM, as they updated its status, friend info, etc., and they would always stop as soon as I exited the application, or sometimes a few minutes afterward.
I'm not sure how you would stop this, but maybe flashing back to AT&T's stock ROM, and running OZ IM, then exiting the application fully would stop the messages. Then you could go back to whatever ROM you want. I'm not sure it would work, but it may be worth a shot. I hope that helps, and good luck,
Dave
I have been having this problem. In low signal areas when I have one, sometimes even two bars this will happen. I try to send a text message and it says message not sent and puts a link for me to try again. The thing is sometimes (perhaps every time, I'm not even sure) the message actually did send. I discovered this when someone told me I send them multiple messages sometimes. Do I have some kind of auto retry message program in addition to the regular retry prompt? Does anyone else have this problem?

Just don't send again,
I think if it hasn't asked you to place your message in the drafts folder than it will automatically send the message again.

Nope windows mobile never automatically sends again upon failures (the old Palm OS did... if you, say, sent an SMS message right before entering an elevator/lift, and you lost connectivity, it would AUTOMATICALLY resend the message once you exited the lift and got connectivity back).
I usually send it later. You have to do it manually though.
These days I’m on vacation using a pre-paid connection. I actaved a data connection on it and started getting these usage summary notifications every few seconds (e.g: Data charge is xx.xx, your available balance is yy.yy, valid until dd/mm/yy). Its really annoying because if I keep the phone locked for like an hour I am presented with 50 odd such messages that I have to press OK before being able to use the phone . When I called the technical support, I was told that it is a phone feature usually called “After call summary” or “call summary”, that can be turned off from the phone itself. Since they don’t carry any android devices he couldn’t help me where to find it. I looked around myself, but couldn’t find anything . Can someone help me with this ? Thanks.
Guess no one knows about this feature or how to disable it?
some one help me with this too..
Hi. I don't think it's a device feature. And if it's a "call summary" then it shouldn't inform about data plan. Try searching for a disabling code on your operator's website.
I have a "call summary" enabled - it pops up after a call, and I can disable/enable it only with a USSD code defined by operator.
Remove Call Summary Screen on Verizon Galaxy 8
I was getting an annoying call summary screen on my Galaxy 8s. It appeared to have the green android messaging icon in the call summary and splash screen. I use the Verizon massaging app. I therefore disabled the android messaging app and the issue disappeared. If you have another android, see if you can replace the android messaging app prior to disabling it.
A little history.
I just did a factory reset (stock rom) and when I rebooted I got a voice-mail message.
I had to manually input the voicemail number but I did it wrong, I put in 1123 ... (which is the WRONG number).
I dialed the voice-mail and noticed my mistake, so via settings I entered the correct voice-mail number (1233).
Although I listened to the voice-mail and deleted it, the message has been popping up in my notification area since then.
What I tried to do to get rid of it :
factory reset.
swap simcards with another phone. No vm message appears on the other phones. I haven't had the opportunity to use my simcard with another Android phone though.
install custom roms
revert to stock rom
disable Voicemail by my carrier
install HushSMS, trying the send a MWIVD (Voice Message Waiting Indicator DeActivation) but this option wasn't enabled
I you guys have any suggestions they are more then welcome.
Rob
P.S
Got a new phone, still the same voicemail message ...
Over the last week, suddenly started having a problem using Android Auto in the car trying to send WhatsApp message
What I am finding is that if I ask google to send WhatsApp message to someone, it responds, asks me what the message is, then reads it back and then ask to send ..... if I then look on my phone, the message does not appear and the recipient obviously does not receive
However, if I receive a message and ask google to reply, it does the same process as above, but the message is sent and I can see it in WhatsApp on my phone
This has only started less than 2 weeks ago
I have tried rebooting phone, car etc etc
Any ideas?
