My SGS can't do the 3 button recovery mode, but it can get to this screen using the Vol+/Home/Power method.
" FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING mode"
What is this mode and is it of any use ?
Bump, I need an answer on this too (I felt bumping this thread was better than creating a new one)
I've had the same problem. I've solve it by flashing it with odin3 and a spanish unlocked rom. If you do this use the 3 files, not only the pda. If you want i can give you the links to the files i've used.
Will you please, i need it to !
Thanks!
Please Link
I am having the same issue. I am on Samsung Galaxy S - GT-I9000T - apparently a latin america version.
I am from GUAM though.
We dont have a Guam regionalized ROM.
SO I need that link if u got it.
Need all three files, not just the PDA... please include link to csc and phone as well. TY
Hi guys,
unfortunately i have the same problem. Did someone figure out how to solve it??. I am just able to get to " FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING mode ". At that point my phone can connect with odin but somehow i cannot send any files....it stops at "Setup Connection" .
Any idea??
I have the same issue - phone doesn't boot as normal, I can't get to Download mode, not to Recovery mode. Only Upload mode is accessible.
Odin detects device in upload mode, but stucks at "analyzing files..." using Odin 1.0, or at "Settuping connection" using Odin 1.3
Please help

Some later phones dont have the 3 button mode automatically enabled. It sounds like its stuck in a boot loop. Try pulling the battery and see if that works. If not connect it to your desktop and see if the computer detects it. If it does you might get out the woods yet.
If it does go to this page and download the applicaton.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...t-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-with-a-single-click/
Run the app and select root for 2.1. Hopefully it will reboot into Recovery mode. From there you should be able to apply the update.zip and reboot.
Good luck
Hi,
At first I would like to apologize for any grammar errors I'm from Holland but I'll try to do it right
I've gotten myself into a problem, I tried to update my Galaxy S which runs on Froyo and it's rooted.
It all went pretty well until I had to reboot my phone, it show the moving S sign and plays the music at start-up but wont go any further and keeps displaying a black screen and from time to time it vibrates a bit.
I don't know what I should do now and any help would be very much appreciated.
If someone needs moor information about the error or something else just say so
Greetings!
hello i had the exact same problem as you. in the end i had to reset factory setting which will delete most of the data (on mine it deleted text messages and contacts). however this was months ago and there may be a better fix now (where you get to keep the data)
but with the phone off press and hold voume up + home button + power buton together for a few seconds (untill galaxy s appears on screen) and select the data reset option (volume keys are up and down, power key is used to select the highlighted option)
if you follow my method then you MAY lose data nut you will get your phone back. however there MAY be a better way than that.
Hi,
yes I've tried that but I can't seem to acces that menu, when I press home + power button + volume up it gets me in a loop of showing Galaxy S GT-19000, and then it keep on rebooting. So or I'm doing something wrong or my phone isn't working properly.
Seems that you have a broken SBL ( secondary boot loader ) . It can be fixed but you first need to make yourself or buy a Galaxy S Jig to enter Download mode , where you can flash a rom and hopefully repair your SBL also ( with Bell i9000M rom I repaired my SBL).
Yea, if the phone isnt detected by your computer you will need to make/buy a jig. Newer galaxy s phones had the option to enter download mode and recovery disabled.

Well went to the store were I bought the phone, and they couldn't access the phone, he was able to get it into the download mode but he wasn't able to download any roms to it.
So he send it to Samsung because I still got my factory warranty so its up to them I gues..
hi ,
I am totally new all this , and i am trying to root my phone and i am stuck.
I searched some tutorials and following the instructions.
Its written that i need to open odlin and them go to download mode and root
But odlin is a aplication and download mode is something you do when phone is off ?
How will i open odlin when phone will be switched off ?
and when i open odlin i get error that you need to have super user.
I installed super user but i don't know how to load app in it ? it says no app in list....
and how do i use that jv6 flash file ?....i am confused.. Please help.
these are 2 guide i was following
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1637966 - its written that you go in download mode and open odlin , how is this possible ? when phone is off and you can open any app ?
bump.....still need this help
Im guessing this is the first time flashing/rooting. Take your time coz what your playing with can mess up your phone.
Firstly, to put your phone in download mode. Do this by:
-First switching your phone off
-Now hold down these buttons at the same time: Power button + Home button + volume down button
-Hold them all down till you see the yellow triangle icon
-Once u see that, your in download mode
Now its important to follow the steps given in the guide about using Odin
nvm its rooted now , i found out that odin is a windows app not android.
Thanks stil..
