Hi all, have become a recent milestone owner and am immensely impressed so far. I have recently done the update from motorola and it seems to have practically doubled my battery life. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? My phone is non rooted and completely bog standard other than using different launcher.
could u please post your version?

Hi all, i happened to came across this article that says about HTC hero having better battery life because of the way the data being stored as compressed data. I kinda doubt the article but any g1 users running hero rom can confirm this?

when i ran hero i had substantially worse battery life lol.
Thanks for your reply sir, that is what i thought too. Since hero is too intensive for g1 to run
After using Hero for a week then switching back to Cyanogen mod I was thinking "Holy crap, is this what my battery life should be like?!" ;-)
There's not enough data to know if their test is fair. Were all their batteries new? If they are using an 8 month old battery that is kept empty when not being used it will be shagged for instance.
Hi guys, im coming from a Desire and thinking of switching to the SGS because of the better hardware. Can anyone share what it's like to use it everyday with the 2.2 update already? Is it still that buggy? what about battery life?
I've played around with the SGS 2.1 and it is indeed slow, laggy and somewhat frustrating. Should I expect otherwise?
What about removing touchwiz? Does that bring everything up to speed?
Thanks!
Well, to be honest my SGS came out of package with 2.1 laggin like crazy.
I updated to 2.2, did a factory reset, and now everything runs really smooth!
(Except for me beeing a total noob with trying to use apps like launcherpro etc, and not making it work correctly..)
Hi everyone,
I've never used an HTC Android before, although I've had a Galaxy S for a while now. Looking to get a Dream for my fiancee who's a total newbie to Android, and despite looking for answers a lot, I couldn't find what the latest CM build for G1 offers (or any other custom ROM). From what I've gathered, the G1 is severely constricted in its default form, and while it's evident that CyanogenMod is going to improve things a lot, what specifically is going to change.
My main questions:
The Android version?
Apps2SD?
Impact on camera?
Speed?
Battery life?
Touchscreen responsiveness?
Any other info that someone can highlight, regarding whether this decision is wise or not (considering that G1 is the only cellphone falling in my budget atm)?.
I found this link on CM forums, but didn't make much sense to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I use CM6.1 now mainly because it's a bit snappier than CM5. A major feature that's missing for me is apps2sdext. Native froyo apps2sd still puts the data of apps in internal memory so apps2ext lets you have a lot more apps installed.
I had CM6 installed on my G1 and i was pretty slow. I also had apps randomly close because I guess the phone was running out of memory. SuperD with ram hack was really fast for me and I've had it installed for the past 4 or 5 months and haven't had any issues until yesterday but IDK if its a software or a hardware problem.
Hello. I recently bought my LG 4X HD from Wind Mobile in Alberta for what I though was pretty cheap ($400). I'm having some battery issues that are discussed on this forum (Google Maps using 60% of my battery, etc). And I also have the lock screen constantly lighting up for no apparent reason, at least once every two minutes.
I'd like to root it and install a custom rom like I did with my LG G2X before (Thanks to everyone from that forum for all the help there), but I'm not sure what the best option is and whether it will help my issues. I know that since it is a P880g instead of a P880 I have some special considerations.
I'd like to have something like jelly bean. I hear this butter initiative thing really helps performance, and I'd like to give Google Now a try. But the most important thing really is battery life. I can do without some fancy features as long as my phone can get through 1 full day without having to plug it in or swap batteries.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi all you guys,
I'm really happy with my new blue HTC one m7. I just bought it from best buy locked for AT&T and I myself converted it to deved and sim-unlock it.... pretty cool all that...
Now I'm in a little trouble... battery life suck so much that I'm starting to think that I did something wrong... do you guys had some similar experience when converting an AT&T one?. Could it be that there are other better roms for battery life performance?
thanks for all your help guys,

I have a converted dev ed an not experiencing battery issue.
There is a battery stat thread in the general sub-forum, maybe you could compare your results and see if its normal or not. Its hard to tell if your battery life is affected by some app/kernel draining it or if its really a faulty one. Check what apps are draining the battery.
