[Q] What is the original rom?

I bought i9000 from one gay and on it is 2.2 froyo, i9000xxjph, and KIES not lets me to upgrade, and it it shove:
''Model Name: GT-I9000
Curent Version: PDA:JPH/PHONE:JPH/ CSC:JPH
This device's version cannot be updated.''
,and the phone is bin bought in Ireland, Vodafone.
I'm lucking for latest PDA:
PHONE:
CSC:
files, what should be on it at this data.
Please Help me, and will donate to helpers.

You have a leaked testfirmware installed: JPH... there is only one newer testfirmware: JPK, but there are no bis differencies to you JPH so you dont need to update. Android 2.2 (Froyo) is officialy not released by samsung, we are all wating. So it is all okay for you. Wait until samsung releases froyo officially and you can update. Your original firmware depends on the provider from which the phone may be bought in ireland.

if you are the europe model i9000
then it's either JM1 or JM2 some people claim JM1 is better, but newest is JM2
if you have the i9000m canadian model
then latest is JH2

Depends on where you live,Europe,asia,America?
I live in Holland and its updated last month with stock 2.2.1 using kies...

My phone is having this version .I9000JPJPF|2.2|2010 November| is it possible to flash with I9000XWJV1|2.3.2|2011 February ???

Also depends upons the phones original provider and if they have uploaded new firmware to Kies server or not developed it yet.

I live in the UK

i live in the uk and my samsung kies program itself updated, the offered me a firware update to 2.2.1 after this, but no before. apparently, looking at a list of the available types the t-mobile uk 2.2.1 isnt out yet, so i dont know where mine came from, i think the thing i looked at tld me it was a portuguese version. very odd, especially as my phone jst came back from samsung repair and they said the had reflashed 2.2 onto it

What is the latest firmware that I can download from Kies?

Hi everyone
I just got myself an I9000(UK) and it is still running on Android 2.1.
The latest firmware Kies offer me is PDA:JS3 / PHONE:JS1 / CSC:JS2 (VOD), seems like much older than the Gingerbread. I know Samsung has now pulled back the Gingerbread update but I notice people are talking about JS5/JS8 in the forum, can I download these relatively update firmware from Kies?
I understand root is not that hard. Of cause I want a fast phone but honestly stability is quite important to me as well. With so many combinations between PDA and PHONE firmware, I just don’t want to use too much time to try them all.
So in short is there anyway I can download some relatively update firmware from Kies?

Depends upon the phone provider and its Product code .
O2 UK phone will match its firmware and hardware ID and O2 product code on Kies server likewise Voda Orange etc .
If for instance your phone was bought from O2 then you get the latest firmware from O2 does not matter what sim you are using .
Yours is a Vodaphone product so its them that update .
PDA:JS3 / PHONE:JS1 / CSC:JS2 (VOD Looks like latest firmware 2.2.1 and is significantly faster than Eclair ..
Just update via Kies and wait until 2.3 is released .
You cannot have Gingerbread until it is released by Samsung and uploaded/modified by the relevant phone providers .

Difficult to see some visible difference, as always most of people said that the latest is faster (placebo effect ?). The JSx ROM are very good in fact, no real need to upgrade from JS3 to JS8 as far I know (I can be wrong !).

I know its too late but its OK , its not for me any way
but I tried to update the tab to android 2.3 , but it seems something is wrong
I have downloaded the latest kies from Samsung website , then I have connected my P1000 , and every thing is going fine , but the kies says this is the latest firmware!!
what does that mean?
I know how to root the device and how to get the update but I don't want to!
why I can't just update it officially from kies?? I live in Saudi Arabia , but is it really a problem?? as far as I know its available for everyone now
any suggestions?

keis looks at your model number. so it's saying you have the latest software released for your model. most of what you see on here is people rooting and putting whatever they want on thier tablets. rooting is when you hack your computer to get low-level system access. which voids your warrenty. and android is linux so you should be familiar with how a linux os works and your tablets hardware.

It's wierd. is it a import from somewhere else?
Keis would only reject models from certain places.
or your model is not on the roll out yet too.
samsung is a wierd company. good but wierd.
go into your configs and look at about your device,
and see what model and revision it is.

I'm in Saudi Arabia too and i'm also not getting any update while other people in Saudi Arabia have updated their Tabs from KIES

Gingerbread is definitely not available everywhere just yet. Unavailable here on my Aussie Tab for example.
It's possible that you're Tab is coded to a carrier/region and would therefore be ineligible. For example, I have a GT-P1000T (nothing on the outside will tell you this. Try checking the box) which means I can't get the upgrade. Same goes for other models such as the 1000R/B/K type models. This could be an issue.
Also, if you're Tab is locked to a network, your carrier might have to sign off on the upgrade first.

Yeah, got the ****s wirth waiting for Telstra to release an update, went with ODIN instead, never looked back...
Apparently as I was browsing the telstra site yesterday, there is an upgrade available for the Telstra GT-P1000T now available for download through Kies.... If you are game...

not everybody. i still dont have the update on my unbranded polish ver galaxy note bought from HANDTEC. :-(

Me neither! I too got the Handtecski version

If you got the Handtec edition you have to change your CSC to XEU (for UK) from KOR for Kies / OTA to recognise your device as being eligible for updates.
You can do this (WARNING: This will factory reset your phone) by going into the dialer and typing:
*#272*IMEI#
(where IMEI is your phones IMEI as found in Settings > Status)
This should give you a menu of CSC to choose from. XEU is UK which is eligible for the Kies update right now, others will probably follow soon if they havent already. If you leave it at KOR it will never update as KOR is the no-mans land of CSC.

When is the KOR one going to have an update? Is it safe to just wait for the official one without changing anything? Asking on behalf of a friend who is peranoid which i understand cause we paid 700 for these damn things. Mine came from Germany so i have the update, he is still waiting for his.
