Hi,
I'm using I9000XXJP3 Froyo Firmware and I have noticed since the day i bought this phone till today, every time i set the time on my mobile it doesn't keep up and in few hours have 5 mins difference and normally phone clock is always behind actual time.
Anyone who face this problem or know what could be the reason or a solution?
Yes, I and a few other people have had the same exact problem, check out the jp3 bug thread. One of the guys here recommended using a program called ClockSync, which you syncs the clock every few hours. Seems to have done the job for me, but you will need to root your phone.
its a known bug from this rom, clock laggs and battery icon laggs to

I know that there are random reboot/freeze issues with this phone but I have noticed that my issue seems a bit different.
My phone goes into reboot loops and freezing only when I turn on the WiFi. I'm patiently waiting for the LG "update fix" but wanted some advice from the experts.
Im in afghanistan and only have until next week to return the phone. If it is a software issue then I dont mind waiting but if it is hardware then I dont want to get stuck with a 600.00 paperweight.
I know Im shooting in the dark but I really would appreciate some thoughts or advice.
BTW - I have had the same issues on custom ROM's and stock ROM's. I think I damn near flashed the phone with every possible thing i found on this board, haha.
well it seems like my issue is still isolated to wiFi. The phone has almost no reboots and very little freezes when WiFi is off. any ideas on if this is a possible hardware or software issue?
was it with every ROM you tried the same ?
It happens with every rom but I hate to get my hopes up but it seems to have start happening not as often. right now Im using this
[ROM][21/4-11]TK-ROM Vanilla + LG = true. v0.5.7 (Fr12)
couple of hours so far and it is better but not perfect.
Mine has just recently been randomly rebooting but was fine when I first got it. It never seems to reboot when I'm stationary only when I'm in the car or riding my bike. Twice it happened in the same location on the drive home from work which got me thinking it could be location related. The gps wasn't active at the time so I tried turning off wifi/cell tower location in the options. I managed a two hour bike ride with no reboots today whilst using gps tracking and listening to music. Yesterday the phone wouldn't go more than 10 minutes without rebooting.
Could it be bad location data in some mobile phone masts are making the phone crash due to a bug in the software?

Guys, today I encountered a problem on my Galaxy Note.... when I remove and replace the battery (a proper switching off the phone), I need to reset the date and time again!!! This is the FIRST time I have encounter this!! Previously, nothing wrong at all?
Any experts here knows what is going on??
I've had this too. I have 2 spare batteries as battery life on my Note is pathetic. Sometimes when I switch them it will rest the date/time. I've installed Clocksync from the market to auto sync with a time server on boot. It may still happen every now and then but I don't see it because Clocksync does it's thing before I notice.
lol same here, never encountered that before but now it happens everytime i take the damn battery out.
I resolved it by ticking the automatic time zone.

+1.
Check the option
"Settings > Date and Time > automatic date and time"
This should pull the time from ur network operator

Is common problem since GB day when you flashed the tw custom rom. But not every custom rom encounter this problem. Just as suggested tick the auto zone time.

I recently came across this issue as I had to change my SD card several times. I do have auto time sync enabled but the sync occurs about 1-2 minutes after the phone booted. Which leads to various annoying issues with different apps (e.g. Reminders pop up again, Alarms go off, previously scheduled and already sent SMS are re-sent etc.).
I just stumbled across this post. Not sure whether the Galaxy Note has a BAT500 or similar battery/capacitor. My Note is ~1 yr. old and unfortunately I can't remember if it ever kept the date & time. So I'm wondering if I should send it in for warranty. But that post made me wonder too:

Do you mean this is ROM related? I'm currently on the CM10 Nightlies.

I recently bought a spare battery and followed the guide saying it's better to charge the battery when it's really low. So I encountered my phone battery totally flat sometimes, especially in the morning. I guess the small battery on the board that keeps the date and time up to date runs empty when a totally flat battery is still in the phone for some time. I think this date-and-time-reset thing Might not happen that fast compared to a phone without a battery in it (like when it's new). The circuit is complete for the small battery on board to discharge fast with a "totally flat" battery in the phone I guess?
If anyone knows about this, and solved it, please help here. Thanks.
I hope after a few charges the battery on board can restore? Or it has to be replaced?
not sure if you get the battery on the board to replace

Hi Massimo 2001,
The N7000 has a BAT600 on board. There are schematics circulating on the web. As far as I can see, this is purely a hardware issue and should be covered by warranty.
I have had the same problem and have now sent my Note in for repairs. Will let you know how it works out.
Too bad, I'm no longer on warranty.

just connect to the internet over data or wifi
and it will get automatically set
I'm not sure what's slowing it down (though am using a custom GE rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395)) but sometimes I leave it for 15 minutes and the clock can be out by 40+ minutes!
This wouldn't be a problem if I could just turn off auto date and time zone, and just set the time manually, but even STILL - same problem :S
And that seemed to be the common solution from what ive read with for other HTCs (that and power on and off).
I know there is ClockSync but I really want to see if there is a fix for the problem without having to add another widget just to account for an error.
Anybody else with a similar problem? Any solutions?

OK, thanks.. -_-
Hi guys,
My M7 has been rooted with the latest Google Edition RUU on it.
Ever since I first my rooted the phone, I've always had a problem where the clock drags (by up to +40 minutes if I leave it after 15 minutes).
I've been using ClockSync with works no problem.
But it's getting annoying that I can't rely on my phone's time if I'm somewhere with no data coverage or have to turn off data.
Would anybody know a possible fix or at least cause?
Or is there something I can reset?
I've pushed different recoveries before and it seems to have made no difference..
