This morning i look in the market in download section to check if any app needed manual updating... and i see Gmail in there.. and seem strange to have that in there since its a stock Gapp, and im stock everything, just with root access... but anywho the update is 2.3 and wondering if anyone else got this update or am i late on this update..?
I also see this update. Installing now.
soon as i post this a friend on twitter asks me bout this and gives me link... so this thread has now been anwserd and all lol

Still lacks the options for downloading any attachment, some show only "preview". But pressing "Preview" fetches the attachment and opens a dialog of "pick the right app for the file", which might be good enough in all cases.
When I woke up this morning, gmail had been updated and installed automatically.

So I saw the Advanced Task Manager has an update available. I click on "Install" and the usual "want to upgrade" message shows up, so I click OK. Now here's where I'm stuck: The thing is stuck on "Starting download..." and it's been like this for about 3 hours now.
HALP!!!
restart your phone.. or cancell it try it again.. i get that all the times.. something with tmobile network.. dont have a steady connection or something so it wont download.
Tried both of those and it's still stuck on "Starting download."
Yeah same here with advanced task i also bought midnight pool 2 and that wont download at all. I had this problem with Snap Photo Pro i had it downloading all night and this morning i canceled the download restarted my phone and it worked. Thats Weird can google get anything wright?
Apparently this is happening for a lot of people with premium apps and its a bug on Google/T-Mobile's side.
Like i said in the other thread about this same topic, email developer. I emailed developer and he sent me a copy of updated version and he said it is a problem on google's end. Thats weird manup i just downloaded midnight pool 2 just fine.
I had this issue with PhotoSlide and the dev was basically "tell google, dont tell me." Took me almost 40 hours and trying everything I could think of.. all of a sudden it just worked.
same thing is happening to me right on.. im trying to update advanced task manager
its something with the market cuz im on wifi
if your're still having an issue with stuck downloads, try to cancel the download then go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Download Manager > Clear Data. Reboot phone. This should get rid of the stuck download.

I am sorry to say, but this does not fix it either.

That's too bad. I've had it work for me on two stuck downloads, but I should add that they were zip files downloaded from the browser and not packages from the Marketplace.
Market bug. Just tried clearing the download cache. Thanks anyway.
Problem autocorrected, bug is squished.
Surprisingly it finally allowed me to update around the time I purchased and installed Advanced Taskman the previous day. Has anyone else had this happen? Honestly it may have just been me, but if repeatable I may have a theory why this is happening.
If the same is happening to other people my theory is Google is waiting till your 24 hour refund period expires before allowing you to update. The only reason I can see why they would do that is to prevent would be pirates with root'd non-Dev phones from having the latest version before requesting a refund.
Not sure how long this has been out, but I downloaded a app called Test Android Market and I checked to see what it was, and I find Screenshot in my list of applications! Unless I received this with the latest Cyanogen update, which I have had since it was released.
Just curious too see what anyone else gets. Let me know.
you mean u have the screenshot app without downloading it? it was prbably included in your theme. not in cyan's rom.
But i've had the theme for a week. I guess I just noticed the screenshot app last night. Just trying to figure out how I got it. But i'm glad i have because the other ones in the market you pay for.
Edit: I guess your right. I just checked my download apps in the market and it doesn't show the Screenshot app in the list. Now i wonder how will i get updates for it, lol!
Yes, I've set it to "Notify me when items are updated".
But even I open market, go to Download page and see some update apps there.
Market still doesn't notify me anything.
After I complete download and install any apps, then it notify me there's update apps.
I assume that market will notify me when any apps I've downloaded have update.
Is this normal ? And if not how can I fix it ?
I use Galaxy S with DXJG4 without any task killer.
Thanks,
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't a Galaxy S problem, it's a google problem. I've gone from G1, to MyTouch, to N1, and to the Vibrant, and they've ALL had that problem.
Sometimes, I wouldn't know I had updates if I didn't go to the market.... then the notification will pop up.

Make sure you allow background data in your Accounts & Sync settings, other than that I can't think of the problem. Sometimes there is a 10-15 sec delay after entering the marketplace for it to notify me of the updates that are available.

Yes, I've checked allow backgroud data.
I just looking in my wife's HTC Hero market and figure that it's about the same.
No notification until you doing something to trigger it, even go to my download page can't make it.
Seem like push notification on Android is still a long long way to go.
touch on setting on download page will allow you to get update on the apps.
I have same firmware as your. It gives me update notification when i am at download page.

If I have to go to download page, why do we need notification for update apps anymore ?
At download page, update apps will be right there on top.

Nope, coming from G1, infact sorta using both at the same time.
Market always notifies me on G1 where as Galaxy S has yet to show a single market notification.
It's always right off the ball to annoy me about Samsung updates when I flash a new FW though.
I wonder why this is the case? Hopefully Froyo will sort out this problem with its auto-update code.
I searched xda and the googleverse but can't seem to find this exact problem.
On my device, I have the new market running, and I can search, find, and pull up the Google+ app. Hooray! Except one thing: there is no option to download. The screenshots butt up to the top of the app's page, and there is no download, just screens and information...
Weird... so I tried the web-based marketplace... and it says my device is not compatible?
The nitty gritty:
Sprint Galaxy Tab
ROOTED Gingerbread, 2.3.4
And also, I am currently in Costa Rica, which I think may be the culprit (keep reading)
What I don't get is it seems that when an app is not available in your country, it should not appear in the Marketplace App on your device.
Secondly, what determines "my country"? Everything I have in that device points to Texas, everything except my current gps / internet wifi location.
What I don't understand too is why a week or two ago I downloaded it just fine (but I didnt have an invite yet so I uninstalled) and now, the download link is mysteriously gone...
SOLUTION? Yes, I simply found the latest apk and installed. What's interesting now is that in the marketplace I now have the option to open Google+, but not upgrade or uninstall...
I know I can simply keep finding and installing apk updates, but this is a pain in the butt... I want to update via the market!
So any thoughts as to why this app isn't playing nicely?!
Thanks for the input!

So it seems as long as I restart my phone and do not apply any lcd density settings+ I can update and download google.plus no problem, but if I boot into / change the density, it dissappears... weird. If anyone else has this problem, know you know!
Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
Please help suddenly my play market has vanished it is not on my home screen Not on my application page
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
I've lost mine too. But i do it this way...
long press your home screen, till a pop up shown up. select applications>google play
I had this happen in different ways.
First on my Note, it was fine. Then it decided to update the app this morning. I dump my Market link into an 'ignore' folder and use the new 'Play' link.
Then, a bit later, the Play link disappears! I hunt down the market link, and it has morphed into a 'Play' link.
Similar things happened on my tablet, but I actually lost the icon completely for a while.
I think it was a poorly planned rollout of the new app / link.
