my phone details are PDA:I900oxjm1 Phone: I9000xxjm1 CSC:I9000OXAJM1
thanks inadvance to any help given

Hi,
you will have to wait for froyo for the SD card installation to work. And even then not all apps will allow this because as far as I know the app has to allow the installation to SD card. You have 2 GB to install your apps on, the 8GB of internal memory is split into 2 GB for apps and rest is for multimedia files or other files. The same file types as you can use on your 32 GB external memory.
Hope my info helps

[Q] Do i need an external memory card

I am planning to update my SGS with the latest european firmware and would like to know if I would be requiring an external memory card anytime during the process or is the phone alone more than enough? Cos, I don't need an external memory card right now. Though I will get one if it is required for flashing the SGS with the latest firmware.
Thanks
it's optional, you don't really need an External SD unless you watch video and listen to music heavily
like having 16 GB worth of mp3 collection to carry around with you
So you're saying I don't need an external memory card for the purpose of flashing a ROM onto an SGS?
Thanks

[Q] Failed to move application. Not enough memory" when trying to move applications.
I've been using my google skills to try to figure this one out, but unfortunately, I did not find a single helpful post. I'm hoping someone can help.
When trying to move an application to the internet SD card, I get the error "Failed to move application. Not enough memory".
Problem is, I have 1.7GB left "On phone" and 11.3GB left "On SD Card". I'm using Apps2sd to report how much storage is left and to determine which applications can be moved.
I have read that if I had an external memory card, it would work. But I want to know if there's something that can be done so that we can move them to the internal SD instead.
From what I saw on a Nexus One, it appears that other Android phones don't have an internal SD card. So it would make sense that it moves it only to the external SD...
I just want input on this "problem", I'd really like to know why I can't use my 16GB of storage for applications! And also, enlighten other people that might come across this.
same problem here, any work around this issue?

Anyone? C'mon folks! Why is this happening? How do we fix it? Could it be because of the lagfix? Using Froyo JL2 on a rooted and lagfixed (OCLF) I9000M.
Same here. As the previous posters, I am unable to move any app to SD.
When I try (through Manage applications), I get the dreaded "Failed to move application. Not enough memory" even if I have plenty of memory.
Is this a common problem? Are we the only ones experiencing it?
I am running JPY, updated through Kies after disabling the Voodoo lagfix and then doing a factory reset.
Please please help. At least let us know that it is just us and that it works for the rest of JPYs out there.

Received my replacement handset from Orange (UK) today. The GPS is locking on soo well, functions properly now.
I flashed straight to JPY via reg patch, tried moving an app to SD, get the same error message.
It worked on my old handset 2.2.1 JPY also but with subpar GPS. Today i receive a new handset with a different problem lol.
Any ideas...anyone??
Hey all .... the move to SD is only valid for EXTERNAL SD card, NOT internal.
I successfully moved some apps over after I slot in an external SD card for my SGS. Tried this after I read somewhere the 'apps2sd' tool is designed only for EXTERNAL SD.
Hope this helps....

So is the internal SD only for data storage, not apps?
I found a solution!
I had the same exact problem as you have, and after some rummaging around the interwebs I've found an answer -> SDMove
Just for the sake of information, make sure you don't have the phone connected to your PC via cable. Just like how it happened with me.
Also try SDMaid in market. It cleans the sd.
same problem
I have the same problem and I have an external SD card. Captivate ATT android 2.2 (for now)

[Q] Problem with games

Hi,i bought Ace 2 yesterday and i am trying to play some hd games on it,but i have a problem. If i put data directly on my sd card from my pc,it asks me to download the data via wifi on my phone memory. So i was wondering how can i make it download the games data on my sd card instead of the phone memory? And how can i run those games from sd card and not from the phone memory?
Please do not tell me to root my phone, cos before this one i had htc one v and wildfire s and all the games ran perfectly well from sd card and not from the phone memoryand it also downloaded all the data on the sd card...
So how can i fix this?
Thanks in advance
See... Every game have its own path to place SD Data

[Q] Swapping external_sd and internal memory on the Ace

I have a Galaxy Ace 2(GT-I8160), and remember when I was trying new roms, a few of them offered a patch, that was switching the internal USB memory(where everything goes) with the External SD card(which is usable only for music, photos and downloads). Now a friend of mine has the same issues that the memory gets filled in magical way and there is nothing left to do except maybe to restore factory defaults(which is annoying IMO). So I am asking is there any sort of trick which could be used to achieve the same result, and use the 8gig SD card as a internal memory?
The phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace (Three UK) more info could be provided later today.
The best scenario is without flashing, rooting is an option, but not recommended(my friend is a bit stuck on technology ) I would appreciate if the procedure does not require manual partitioning of the SD Card and as a must, not to require a ROM.
This is my first post on the XDA, so don't get hard on me.
my friend:
im sry but yes you have to do partition from the recovery then use one of the partition apps like : link2sd or s2e or other partiton scripts

flash cm10 its amazing and 32 GB Card i think its too much in mini2 ,16 gb is good for mini 2
CM10 on 6500D
Good day to all!
Yesterday I installed cm-10-20130720-UNOFFICIAL-jena.zip and after a couple days of use I have a question:
1. When I plug headphones sound plays through them and through the speaker.
2. After setting up an access point Wi-Fi computer finds it under a different name (wl0.1) and without the selected encryption method WPA2 PSK.
Otherwise, the firmware is fully functional and stable.
Thank TheWisp for the work done!

if there are any other suggestion please or if some body else got the same problem with the SD card..
buy a decent sdcard. Probably bought the cheapest you could find. I assume since Mini 2 is cheap phone, why would someone buy an expensive sd card for it?

'cause i need SD card with large storage since i listen much music, i have around 26 GB music on my SD card so i though 32 GB SD card would be enough since Galaxy mini 2 support it..
Anyway its not the point, the point is i hope it will be fixed on the next update x)
CM10.1 is amazing rom but it will be useless if i format my SD card every week and sometimes i'm not even able to mount it..
again, I can't fix a problem I don't have
